  1. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54436076 Chickens coming home to roost for Wednesday?
  2. Isn’t “super agent” a contradiction in terms
  3. You’ve just described the gas mentality
  4. There will be 23 clubs watching this eagerly to see whether they can change their accounting approach to reduce their losses. The horse’s head has emerged from the open stable door; can EFL close the door in time?
  5. Planning Permission was granted in December 2016. However as planning permission normally lapses after three years if it isnt implemented, it is possible that there is no planning permission currently in place. If they are only proposing to clear up the site and improve the existing pitches then they may not need planning permission for Phase 1 but they wont be able to change the buildings without it. Interestingly the planning proposal refers to non-professional use so it must be NLBR.
  6. Bears announced Umbro as their new technical kit partners today. Hoping for a return to the hoops...
  7. What happens with Rooneys megabucks deal? I assume it will be automatically extended to see out the season but if the gambling sponsor doesn’t pay more contribution, Derby will have to fund all the extension.
  8. Think it’s a general ban on mass gatherings rather than targeted at football. Shouldn’t affect Rovers, mind
  9. Cant believe this thread fell to page 7 of the forum. Anyway, EFL really are rubbish at this FFP lark. Someone even warned them about Derby's accounting practice in advance but they ignored the email... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51322797
  10. For anyone interested but struggling to find the plans among the 212 documents in the application, the General Arrangement plans are here: https://infrastructure.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/wp-content/ipc/uploads/projects/TR040011/TR040011-000365-2.4 General Arrangement plans.pdf Ashton Gate is shown on sheets 15 and 16.
  11. In the link I posted above the EFL chairperson briefly discusses the sale of stadia to owners and says, Jevans touches on other issues, inevitably financial, such as the loophole of clubs selling grounds to their owners to improve the look of the books. “I wouldn’t use the word loophole, no, but what I do think is important is there is absolute clarity over the sale of fixed assets. We are sitting down with the Premier League, and looking at the wording of those rules. It’s noted.” Any risk of a breakaway from the Championship to form a Premier League 2? “No, not right now, there’s no desire from the clubs, the FA or the Premier League.”

  13. Ouch. They’re taking a painful ribbing tonight.
  14. To be fair, Mark probably makes more money from his removals business than from playing for that lot.
  15. If they want to promote Bristol as a tourist destination they will need to relocate the undesirable element.
  16. Built on remediated landfill as I understand it so the land is of limited use and value.
  17. The outgoing EFL chairman was on R5L earlier (saying nothing in particular and just taking up airtime) but he did mention that no Championship teams are currently at risk of points deduction for breach of FFP. The reason given was that most clubs’ FY is after the end of the season so there is still an opportunity for clubs to raise funds by selling players which is “normal business”
  18. You would think someone at the club would spot that url and come up with some more ‘sympathetic’ phrasing
