Agree with this entirely. Pearson has his hands tied and can do nothing except believe he can get the beast out of his squad as is. My concern is that the results will not come fast enough (football is a results based game after all), AG becomes a pit of criticism, the results falter further then the inevitable happens....players give up, manager gets sacked, sh1t hits the fan..... Look at Reading last season.

No, having been used to rectify a decade of financial screw ups, be given little to no money to strengthen or replace key players when they are sold, I would simply wear down my contract and not resign (in order to not breech my own contract). All the sayers calling for NP's head will not have to wait too long....he's already leaving....we just don't know it yet. Any new contract will require confirmation of war chest....this will be the final nail in the coffin. Great opportunity wasted. Would love to be a fly on the wall when NP tells SL to go and **** himself.

You have to remain in the Championship to be a championship academy.......I think we will have a long drawn out season....possible relegation battle but would expect to survive. Its certainly not going to be the promotion push season that the pre-season bluster suggested. Key line in NP's post match....."in other areas we are not quite as blessed".....he knows we need investment....but has no funding to work with. SL needs to be careful....NP close to the new of his deal.....could walk if not given appropriate support. Especially as it is known that he is now considering life after football. NP has secured championship status whilst shedding drift wood, sorting the team and revising the pay structure in line with his gift..... Seems always the way that we get to a good position and then fail to capitalise on the gain.......disappointing but not unexpected.

I understand why we are interested in him at present (possibility of financial gain)...other than that I have no interest in whether or not he gets a contract etc.... Every decision has consequences.
