  1. You say lacks in a few areas? Only things I can pinpoint are distribution and penalty stopping. Interested to know where you think he lacks. I say it because I think I underrated him because I thought he lacked a lot more than he seems to when I think about it. Im probably really tempting fate here but I actually believe this is the best ive felt about a keeper and pair of centre backs in a while.
  2. In my opinion we have a cracking Championship keeper in Max O'leary. I liked Bentley and when he got dropped in favour of Max I was concerned it was a step backwards and maybe a cost cutting exercise. I now feel I was wrong, and wonder if the club just saw Max as the better keeper and therefore didnt need to pay Bentleys high wage. Now id take Max over Bentley any day and comparing him to other Champ keepers I feel we are in a good position. However its clear Max has always been a bit marmite and maybe some fans would happily see him replaced. I feel he is cracking at keeping the ball out the net, we dont ship loads of goals he has pulled off a number of excellent stops and has kept us in many games. Has made a few mistakes (Preston etc) but not many and in fairness his timing on coming out or punching is pretty good The distribution issue is frustrating but I wonder if this fogs some fans overall view of him. Vyners distribution at points is interesting yet nobody seems to want him replaced. I also wonder if both his quieter demeanor, smaller stature and the fact he came through the youth setup (which rarely happens for keepers) none of which seem to affect his performances also fog our view of the player we have. Ive not seen Bajic play so I dont know how good he is, is he a champ backup keeper? If not and we need to get a keeper in (which seems to be the consensus) id still argue we dont need a number one keeper. Interested to know peoples thoughts?
  3. I see his son James, the new chairman of Millwall, has said a tribute will be paid to John Berylson when we play them at the Den on 12th August
  4. I thought it was outside the box. Replays clearly show it was in the box. Gary Owers said on radio Bristol he thought it was harsh because the player didn’t move his arm to it. If you watch the sky sports highlights it shows an angle from behind the goal where the defender had his arm by his side and lifted it as the ball was hit. I didn’t think so at the time but clear pen looking at replays
  5. In fairness though neither understood why he made the comments. They said he waited until we won so he was on safe ground. So really it was opinion based on little knowledge. Jordan did make me laugh by saying it happens to us all etc... he forgets he called us cheats and him and Warnock banged on about it for ages
  6. I agree with most of his comments the decisions are going against us, though saying he wants to quit is hardly sticking up for his club and players!! Refs are human beings they arent super human they shouldnt act with emotion but they do, if there is a 50/50 decision do you honestly think someone slagging them on TV in the way he has isnt going to have an effect. Id say they are going to be very conscious of people saying 'you only gave them that decision because of what Pearson said'. This isnt about being unprofessional (despite that being exactly what everyone is saying) its about very high profile comments sticking in peoples heads. I agree with a lot of his comments, but as with comments he made last season about him getting the sack I believe he has made off the cuff emotional comments that arent professional This is a Bristol City fan forum not a Nigel Pearson fan forum
  7. Interesting post cant help thinking you are fishing here especially as your minority saying it was a penalty at Hull doesnt include PGMOL. All that said.... whatever anyones opinion of the previous decisions Nige hasnt helped us here. Can you imagine the ref decisions getting better after his comments?
  8. Yeah bloody right I’ve just bet on us to score 5+ I’ve spent a huge £1.50. Definitely getting carried away and gone all in tonight
  9. In fairness this new hoodie is a huge improvement in the ‘garish and bold vs subtle and wearable’. I guess what I was (badly) trying to say is when the club changed the badge I thought they had got the message and maybe they have a bit with a couple of the hoodies and tees but far too often we see this
  10. this shows the club are really missing a trick. How many people would buy something like this for non football days? When the badge was changed I thought the club was going down this route. A simple badge that can look good in a single colour and doesn’t have Latin and coats of arms that no one wants to see on normal bit of clothing. Instead we get designs like you would find on the discount rail in Debenhams (10 years ago!), hashtags, huge robins like a bill board, or huge bannered words like city’ or Ashton gate! Thousands of people wear polo shirts and hoodies with a simple small logo on the breast, be it a sports brand or a fashion brand. Why not the robin? I would
  11. I think everyone does (me included) but are we forgetting his pretty mediocre performances at other clubs. I’m a pretty tolerant fan, I don’t believe in changing managers regularly, but yesterdays interview sealed it with Pearson for me. It stank of someone who has lost the squad (something too commonly used as an excuse) who was clinging on to a job. Kalas is a good player who hasn’t looked happy since NP started, Bentley has obviously had his issues with NP and only find himself back due to injury and performance of others, Williams is capable but looks frustrated, James (who is NP’s man) seems to be going downhill. Yesterdays performance just stank of there being 11 players but no team! Lets not forget Nigel Pearson is paid a lot of money to manage this club, he won’t care in 2 years time if the club gets relegated or if we go bust. He has one aim, to keep a job. Forget talking about heart, those days have gone. Footballers are paid employees who will perform to keep contracts or for a boss who is decent to them. I detest Colin Warnock but even I have to admit he is tactically savvy and knows how to get 11 players playing as a team. Does Pearson?
  12. Well I knew there would be haters but that was interesting! Thank for the idiot comment, my wife agrees! Yes stats are closely correlated, yes they need context. I fail to understand why a manager with a less than 25% win rate is supported by so many. I could understand if we saw improvement but yesterday was Blackpool all over again. LJ was hounded out of the club, Holden was laughed at, club legends like Tinnion were got rid of with majority fan agreement. And yet Mr Pearson is supported and why? why does nobody slag off his recruitment which seems to be based on well they did well in the one managerial position I did well at so they will be good here. we have no money for new players now and we won’t have in the summer. So surely we need a manager who can get better out of what we have until the finances are sorted. Or are we suggesting that the players all need to go and we fill our team with more Danny Simpsons, Andy Kings and Chris Brunt’s, along with a load of league one / two players? I’d honestly take Tinnion right now over this clown. Pearson’s comment about the club getting rid of him was clever and people have fallen for it
  13. They aren’t my stats they are the stats. They are facts. I agree they do need context but let’s not forget we’ve just drawn against a league one team. Are we basically saying this playing squad and our position is the worst we have been in for 20 years in comparison to those around us. I don’t want LJ back I don’t want Danny Wilson back, but can somebody tell me why Pearson is so popular? Is it because he is the hard man? I don’t know if anyone has noticed, it’s not working.
  14. We’ve just scraped a draw at home against a 10 man team who have been smashed all season.
