In Newcastle, calm as f.....

Hard fought victory today. On top first half, but attack misfiring. Deadlock broken in 2nd half. Can't decide which I admired most, the speed of Morgan to get to the byline and cross or the speed of Syme to get up and finish. Ref was awful, didn't quite catch her name, sounded something like Kiera Stroud.

I was around then and can't remember anything. Would not have been attached to the club. Best guess it would have been an amatuer team playing friendlies. Pretty sure there was no organised football for women at the time. The only organised women's team than was the Rocking Robin's (best forgotten).

Promotion season undr Cotterill away at Swindon in autumn. Swindon won 1-0 after we had a man sent off. They celebrated as though they had won the league.

Decent, seemed a little quiet pre match, but much better once the game got going. There could be a little promotion fever growing.

Frustrating first half played on the back foot. Need to address how we played out from the back. Too deep and too slow resulting in all options being closed down by London. Second half much improved and a deserved win come the end. Cracking atmosphere amongst a slightly disappointing crowd.

Evening game and a school day in the morning. No problem.

The first payment fails, but leaves a temporary payment on your account. You get no ticket. Reprocessing the transaction usually works and you get a ticket. The temporary payment disappears from your account in a few days. It's a pain if you have low funds in your account as it dilutes your balance for a few days.

I've had this before. The first payment will appear on your bank account as pending, but will disappear after a couple of days. You will not need to chase.

Currently allowed behind the left goal and on farside up to City dug out. Wasn't allowed beyond away dug out although I think this was a covid thing ,may be relaxed now. The other limiting factor is the toilet provision. I will forgo my pre match coffee if it's a capacity crowd.

In contrast, I've hope she would be competition for Palmer/Syme. I think are area of weakness is centre midfield where we are reliant on those two.

Was a bit nervous about this one given Oxfords position as undefeated leader of the National South and the mid week loss to Man City. As it was, normal service resumed with a high press aggressive performance by City. Took a while to get the first, but the second half was just a case of how many. My player of the match would be Lauren Hutton with a goal and an assist. Unfortunate injury to Clinton who could be missing for a few weeks.

It's not a new topic. Happened over 20 years ago. City reserve game v Spurs played at Clevedon. We had Dwayne Plummer and Dominic Barclay playing if memory serves me right. Dwayne swings a punch knocking Spurs player to floor. Cue rough scenes. Ref sends Dominoic off who I think played no part in the incident.

Could only stomach first 45 tonight. Some observations. Weak lineup due to injuries and goalkeeper rotation highlighting that we do not have much squad depth. Beyond the first 13, we are down to inexperienced youth. Maybe a bit naive tonight to play 3 up top, given we couldn't anticipate ball possession. Lastly a very passive performance. Not sure whether we were afraid big time of Man City or whether we freeze in front of a big crowd. Disappointing night.
