I seem to recall that Flint wasn’t that impressive when he first joined us and that was in League 1. I can see signs in Cundy of potential but you can never predict how a player will develop. He has had limited experience at Championship level, a long lay off through injury and I bet he’s on a low wage. I’d like to see him given an extension to his contract, I wouldn’t write him off yet.

The Pearson Debate - Something Not Mentioned Yet…
Richard Head replied to Harry's topic in Football Chat
I think the difference in the club that hasn’t been mentioned in the recent posts is the role of the CEO. It seems to me that we now have a grown up in the role who doesn’t have Mark Trashton’s hugely inflated ego, is more able to work constructively with the manager and happy to operate behind the scenes. Richard Gould has been in post less than a year and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is in discussions about some of the issues mentioned above in readiness for the close season. -

Well put MR. As a Suffolk boy who left at 18 I have always had a fondness for Ipswich Town which dates back to Alf Ramsey’s team winning the old First Division, a feat even greater than Leicester City winning the Premier League. I have fond memories of Bobby Robson’s team too, Muhren, Thyssen, Butcher etc. But I’ve been in the Bristol area since 1980 and City are my team. Yes, Ashton will get found out eventually, as he was here, but by then he will have moved on his his next train wreck, it’s in his nature and he is not the type to learn humility, his ego is too large. He’s gone, let’s celebrate that we now have a good manager and a CEO who understands their respective roles. It will take time to put right all the harm that’s been done but I’m confident that NP and RG have a long term plan to get there, which SL supports. -

With his baseball cap on back to front. And Ashton 1 on his back. -
I don’t see how we can know with Bell. He got his place in the team and immediately the Rolls curse got him. Nige did speak about him as “a smiling assassin” or words to that effect, and he clearly rates him. Could be the dark horse.

Quite simply, Peterborough play to his strengths, using his pace. LJ Tried to hammer another square peg into a round hole on his rare appearances. All confidence knocked out of him.

Our Defenders; Standing Off The Opposition
Richard Head replied to havanatopia's topic in Football Chat
Cardiff's penalty was due to brainless defending by Little. Another goal was weak marking by centre backs, none of whom got in position to challenge for the ball when it was crossed. The third was a combination of a defender (not sure which) failing to close the attacker down, turning his back as the shot came in (unforgiveable) and Frankie not being good enough or tall enough to reach the shot. So poor defending all round.
