  1. Great analogy- always enjoy people saying “it can’t be black again, the last 5 have been black”
  2. And for that- the blame must lie with either- A- Radio Bristol/SOTC B- BCFC for refusing to answer those questions.
  3. You’re kind of missing my point… What did you honestly expect him to say in an interview (pre recorded) with the interviewer being someone who isn’t experienced or probably brave enough to really put the foot down. So (again, my devils advocate/pedantic point) we moan we never heard from him, then when we do hear from him (as expected it’s scripted, it’s safe and it blows smoke up SL’s arse) we moan we don’t like what we heard (which is what we expected we would I hear, if we ever did hear from him….)
  4. For clarity- I did say I was playing devils advocate with that part. My point (being pedantic) was you can’t moan you never hear from PA, and then when you do hear from him moan you didn’t like what you heard. The content provided was/is down to the questions asked etc as much as the answers given.
  5. Playing devils advocate here… Everyone has moaned they haven’t/don’t hear from Phil Alexander - They just have. Everyone now moaning they don’t like what they heard from Phil Alexander - see initial point. what do you really expect him to say, after GT tore Ashton a new one, there is no chance PA would get into that type of situation, Hence a pre recorded interview, probably with a club option to approve etc. ************ Now, back to not playing devils advocate The (again) reference to Luton is worrying, and unhelpful. The failure to acknowledge or praise Nige is bizarre- you can appease pretty much everyone by just saying “Nige is doing a great job, and sticking to the plan- but it’s too early to discuss anything else at this stage, transfer window has just shut, it’s an international break etc” And my 2p worth on Hoskins was he’s not a patch on what 20man was for us in terms of being direct, and straight to the point
  6. I can trump everyone…. I have a guy behind me, who must be on speed dial for Pep, given his clear superior knowledge of everything football related. it’s beyond painful, “don’t mess around and pass it- get it forward” is usually followed by “don’t just lump it, pass it” He spent the game we played against Man U berating Marlon Pack for not getting close to Pogba (which shows how little he understands about football) Then infront, a father/son duo who just moan at specific players- (Chris Martin was public enemy #1 until he left) more recently its Cornick. I’m the idiot tho- I’ve again renewed, and again will arrive for next seasons first home game praying they either haven’t, or have moved. S22, R23 FYI.
  7. Something doesn’t sit right here- wouldn’t be surprised if we see KW move on this summer
  8. I’m exiled from Bris, so use commuting time to catch up, but was in the right “zone” to listen in tonight- and I have to say really enjoyed the show. We’re lucky to have Geoff as a broadcaster, and despite his Gas links, he’s a very good impartial asset to Radio Bristol. I thought the panel tonight we’re also very good- seemed to speak a lot of sense and give balanced opinions on various topics (including the new kit ???) I think from memory all of the guests tonight had been on before, and all the guests Geoff has offer differing opinions (far better than you know who post game on the phone) We’re fortunate to have some great BCFC podcasts, OTIB and also SOTC- and all offer a good balance of views and opinions!
  9. It goes back to previously mentioned comments in this thread. He isn’t a football fan/follower- so there’s probably lots of things he simply doesn’t understand/know how to manage/communicate- things like the applause last night- a prime example As others mentioned- the “bigging up” of away teams/calling them by their nicknames is very amateurish. in the nicest possible way- he’s not very good at what he does.
  10. As above. I could quite clearly see from my seat in the south stand the substitution- he is 10 yards away, armed with a team sheet, and with visibility of the player walking off/on.
  11. Might be time for a big rebuild in the summer for Mark and his team! no doubt a thorough and rigorous process.
  12. What’s happened to Josh Owers- seemed primed for making the step up last season and has stagnated…
  13. Yup- and MAIT missed a Pen before SW went 2 up. The top 8 of league one is so congested. Be lovely for Sir Steve to beat MAIT in the play offs.
  14. Drew vs Sheff W today- not quite going to plan, Mark, is it.
  15. I would suspect, Man City appeal to the CAS, and the outcome is a heavy fine/suspended sentence and future monitoring. It's morally wrong, but that's what usually happens!
  16. Bish, Bash, Bosh, all done- very easy. Cheers, Nige
  17. Nail. On. Head. NO has a very genuine “get out of jail card” with resources and his wage cutting etc. He loses the use of this card when he doesn’t select HIS signings, and plays people out of position. I was always in the “keep Nige” camp- but today swayed me. The substitutes HE made were really poor- IF we were playing HIS signings (hands tied with £ etc) and where we are (with wage bill reduced significantly) then he can rightly say he need more time/investmen- he isn’t tho. I wouldn’t trust him to sign others now, considering of his signings very few have had a positive impact.
  18. I specified 3, and said maybe 4. IMO he’s the best of the rest in that time (and league positions/win % during tenure confirm that)
  19. You’re missing my point- remove LJ from the 4, and you can’t argue with the other 3. my point being all of whom were not the fans choice etc.
  20. I’d argue LJ did better vs the other appointments in the same time frame. my point was he wasn’t widely wanted/liked as an appointment.
  21. Of the managers who have been a success in the last 30 years there’s only really 3, maybe 4 J Ward, G Johnson, S Cotteril, L Johnson. none of those 4 came with the fanfare of a Pearson/SOD/Coppell type appointment.
  22. Today he was once again useless. He displayed his clear lack of any football knowledge when announcing substitutions (he literally has a team sheet, and players in front of him with there names/numbers on their back) Also at HT he made a pathetic attempted gag when announcing an engagement (which weirdly followed two announcements of fans who had passed- where his tone was almost comical and… “on a brighter note” type theme) to suggest he is available to be DJ @ the wedding. I don’t think he has any impact on results etc- but he hardly does anything to improve the atmosphere.
  23. All 3 very poor. Scott probably the worst of the 3.
