  1. I agree he should be more adaptable with playing style, I wonder if now the wolves are (a bit) at our door he will. But he was always going to try to play his way, and that’s why he was a bad appointment, his way isn’t this squads way. Our board are thick. But he’s here now. We should let him have a fair crack of the whip, not his fault the board are muppets.
  2. No new knocks I saw. We need Twine for some creativity, anyone know of a timeframe? I thought he was due. Injured: Tanner Atkinson Naismith James Benarous Twine Bell
  3. If we don’t get 6 more points this season I’ll apply for Welsh citizenship. Our three losses on the spin were all by one goal, on another day we score a goal off Nahki’s arse or the opposition miss a sitter and it’s 3 points. Those games will come before the seasons end. We’ll be fine.
  4. I agree with you completely. And we’re suffering for his lies now.
  5. Not blameless, but massively diminished responsibility. Look higher. They don’t know anything about football and it shows.
  6. No it’s not. With these owners the kitchen will always be on fire. What’s the point in changing the head chef? They screwed up by sacking Pearson then appointed the wrong man. The next one will likely be wrong too. What’s the point in just restarting the cycle?
  7. Anticipate a battering here but I’ll post my thoughts anyway. We should keep him. LM is going poorly - let’s have it right. We’ve lost to three teams with worse squads than us on the spin. Criticism is more than fair and us, as paying and long-suffering supporters, are qualified to give it. But. - These are not his players. They don’t suit his style. His one ‘big’ signing in his mould is injured (an ongoing issue here that long precedes LM). He will need the summer. - The same idiots still own the club. The next appointment will also struggle - they struggle at appointing managers. - He’s got over 3 years of contract left. So has his assistant. We’ve sorted our money issues, let’s not piss all that money away now. - This will be the least popular one. We showed some signs of progress today. We nicked the ball high on about 4 occasions, that’s our best avenue of attack and we saw signs of it. I actually think we were the better team today. They scored one set piece, and their keeper had a solid game. Today was better, albeit against a low bar. We’re safe this season. Some will say we’re not but we are. 9 points AND 9 places clear. 6 more points from 11 games will do it. The problems lie above his head, and until they’re gone, we will always fail at this level. No amount of chopping and changing managers will change that fact. And even if they do finally get it right and appoint a man to take us forward… we know they’ll sack him anyway.
  8. Congrats on your daughter buddy.
  9. All the same players as last week, minus Tanner who must be unwell or injured. We don’t replace him in the squad as we name 7 subs (8 last weekend). Naismith was touted for a potential return… not to be today. Hopefully we find out more on that soon. So not great news to start the day, but hopefully come 14.30 we all have some great new to discuss! COYR. Into these blue ******. Injured: Tanner Atkinson Naismith James Benarous Twine Bell
  10. BOOOOO. He plays for Cardiff and we won nothing in his time here anyway. The only (recent) ex-players I really have any love for were the double winners.
  11. I'm not going to be Manning out this summer pretty much regardless. Owners are the issue. I won't go on my 8th tirade about that! For me, I'll look down more of a performance lens than a result lens for the remainder of this season since points return is relatively academic now. However, I want to pick out 3 games where I think we need a result above all else, even if we play crap. Cardiff on Saturday, as it's a derby. And we could all really do with a lift right now. Swansea, another derby. Stoke. Last game of the season so a chance to take some feel-good into the summer. And we could relegate one of the shiny 'former prem teams' that the media/Sky love so much, which would just be really funny. All the rest, we can focus on getting Manning-ball instilled into the squad and identify changes the squad may need in the summer. If we lose all three of my pinpointed matches. Painful but so be it. I'll still want Manning to be given the summer. The problems are above his head.
  12. I know we've seen some shite under LM but it is still relatively early days and when it has worked, it has worked really well. We've got to stay behind him and the team for now, especially going into a derby. Not much of the season left, let's stay with them. COD and Fam... we have to keep them two quiet. I couldn't cope with one of them scoring a winner Enjoy your day mate and hope the eight of you see that crate off and bring the noise
  13. Not sure this will be a particularly unanimous opinion but I'm glad this is our next game. I was frustrated as anyone on Saturday afternoon (no less because it was only the second away day I've got to this season - and the second defeat!), but I was actually surprised at the level of the backlash on here. I've been hyper-critical of the ownership since the Pearson debacle of October, so I am feeling a little vindicated. And I stand by the view that we don't achieve promotion to the top tier with them in control. But. I blame little to none of our current sorry state on Manning. He's not got us playing well enough, but I think that's in no small part linked to a clash between the personnel we have (a squad I like by the way) and how he wants to play. So he will need windows and time. Not his fault, another Lansdown error. Seeing a vote 60% in favour of Manning out shook me a little and kind of inspired me to write this post. He is here, and I don't think we want to be a three-manager-a-season kind of club. We also don't want to be pissing money away on paying up contracts. And, I do think he knows his stuff. There's a good football brain in there. Saturday is a great opportunity to do our Severnside rivals and get some feel-good back amongst the club. We have nothing to play for this season, but a derby always matters. I'm excited to get to AG nice and early, hopefully be part of a loud, hostile atmosphere, and be seeing some Manning fist pumps at 14:30. UTC.
  14. 6 at the moment, I'd say that's about par. No major complaints from me at the mo. That was good to see yesterday, Chelsea fans must feel haggard. One game that could have salvaged a pretty disastrous season and they lose to an ending team of about 6 academy players! I've got a soft spot for Klopp like many have, so I did enjoy it.
  15. Sykes and Pring half-time subs were tactical I assume. Sykes in particular I find a little odd though? I'll leave him off for now. For a dead-rubber in terms of the table, the Cardiff game feels pretty massive. Liam, the squad and us fans need a lift. Roll on Saturday. Injured: Atkinson Naismith James Benarous Twine Bell
  16. I am ‘Manning in’ for clarity. The mess is above him. We can’t be paying off 3 more years of Manning’s contract just for them to make another appointment that they’ll either hate (Nige) or who won’t be up to it (Holden, Manning?).
  17. They’re going to piss money on him to cover their asses aren’t they. Imagine Pearson WITH money. These owners pain me.
  18. Because the Lansdown’s are weak willed liars
  19. Back to back dross. Never mind this season - that’s long gone (shock that Lansdown’s we’re talking shite) but next season… I’ve been looking forward to a promotion push. That doesn’t seem likely…
  20. Attack not working again but defence not at it all either. Long 45 ahead. Changes needed but I doubt LM does.
  21. Three out and two in as we name one fewer sub. Bell we knew about, James and Twine unwelcome surprises. I get lots of ‘’ reacts when I give my opinion on the Twine loan. But surely now we can all see panic loans to cover our arses is poor business. It just felt financially wasteful. Pring is back (excellent news) and Knight-Lebel returns to the squad as we again succumb to injuries. As always, three points will certainly lift the spirits! Injured: Atkinson Naismith James Benarous Twine Bell
  22. I would LOVE SL/JL to try to explain why we've ended up missing the top 6 by a fair old margin (as things stand) once again. They made their bed with their comments, I'm very excited to see them lie in it!
  23. Very fair points raised, not sure why some people get so aggro when someone on a forum posts a view that isn’t all sunshine and rainbows! We all knew the appointment post Pearson was a really important one as he’s a very good ‘lay the groundwork’ manager. You could also argue, as many have, that we sacked him too soon while the groundwork was still progressing; for reasons only the billionaires will ever truly know. Early signs are it’s a poor appointment given the massive clash in styles between Nige and Liam, so I can see the cut your losses argument. Worth noting LM has a lower PPG this season than Nige, so he’s entirely failing on the remit he was supposedly brought in for. Getting more out of this squad now. All that said. He’s here now, he’s on a long old contract, and we have seen some exciting signs here and there. I think the Lansdown’s have probably screwed up again, but I’m not taking that out on Liam. I’m behind him for a while yet!
