  1. Gonna convince myself he's the one who will stay with us and take us to the promised land, rather than go there on a solo mission. 5 year contract please!
  2. Well it’s interesting now because the 343 worked well. Seemed to give us so many more passing options. But doesn’t utilise a 10 where I assumed he’d been signed to play. Question is, did we change shape tonight because a) Knight was poorly, b) Manning thought it a good fit for this particular opposition or c) Manning sees it as a better option for us going forward. I think Twine starts Saturday. Tonight was wonderful but we’ve still scored two goals in our last 5. But the shape we use Saturday will be very interesting.

Will have meant a lot to him tonight, his first start in a match since May or whatever, against a team in the top 6 of the Prem. A really challenging 6 months is over and he’s done really well. He’ll be on top of the world. Well in Ross ️
  4. He won us that red card. Got in so many of the ‘big scary hammers’ heads. Good as a goal!
  5. Defence has kept a good few clean-sheets this season but that’s a beauty, 1-0 up through Mr. TC in the 3rd minute and then see it out. I think we could’ve been a bit better on the ball if I’m honest, so even more to come what a night. And no injuries, as always, a VERY welcome bonus. Injured: Atkinson Naismith Benarous Sykes
  6. Shape change then. Ross comes back, we go back 5. Should be fun to see Ross and Cam flying up opposite wings. Big game. COYR ️ Knight is under the weather by the way, according to BBC Bristol. Well enough for the bench though. Nelson is back on the bench as we return to filling it with all 9 subs. Injured: Atkinson Naismith Benarous Sykes
  7. Or 3-4-3 with TGH and Mehmeti on wings. Max Tanner Vyner Dickie Ross James Joe Cam TGH Anis Conway
  8. Until Sykes is back, I think you’re bang on.
  9. Correct. I hope in the Summer I look an idiot when we're in the Prem or he's fallen in love with the City and signed on a perm. But I can't see either happening, so it's a deal I'd have not done.
  10. This move will mean we are more creative, score more goals and will push us a few places up the league. It also will mean we’ve less money in the summer to actually try to build a promotion squad. I think that’s the crux of the debate, short-term thinkers Vs long-term thinkers.
  11. The Post are saying we’ve loaned with the plan that ‘if it goes well, a permanent solution can be reached’. That really means very little imo though. If he gets 10 goals and 10 assists Burnley will want more than we can afford. They won’t send him here on the cheap as a favour. 1. If he takes us up - very unlikely - it’s a masterstroke and I’ll get a JL tattoo. 2. If he does very well and we don’t go up, he’s gone. 3. If he does just fine, we’ll have a shot at a purchase. Though a relegated Burnley may want him back. 4. And if he’s a disaster - very unlikely - we send him back and move on. So… we need him to do amazing and get us promoted (1), or just ok then we can maybe buy (3). I predict (2) sadly.
  12. Can we all put down our swords a second and appreciate this is a beauty of an OTIB civil war. Almost a perfect 50:50 split on sides. What a thread.
  13. I have to assume the people saying ‘why are fans writing us off in January’ missed the last three matches. Haaland wouldn’t turn us into a promotion outfit.
  14. If you watched the last 3 games, you know we aren’t going up this season. Hardly a reach!
  15. So so disappointing. No reflection on Twine but from making Nige save us from a financial shit-hole then giving him peanuts to spending millions on a loan to finish mid-table when he’s gone? The people running this club leave me utterly dumbstruck at times.
  16. Yea when it will help us and is worth it. Without Twine we survive and miss out on PO’s. With Twine we survive and miss out on PO’s and lose a few million.
  17. To be fair Dave we’d have a real problem if he was 4’7” and 18 stone.
  18. It absolutely isn't - effing baltic where I am. Let the poor bastard do a shoot at the HPC.
  19. I reckon we’re gonna do this, and announce tomorrow night/Tuesday latest. I reckon the Weimann deal is long done but we’ve said to WBA ‘please delay your announcement until we have a replacement, else we may have rioters’. And they will be announced simultaneously before WHU at the gate. I just bloody hope that, if I’m right, it’s a perm not a loan!
  20. Be a very good signing if the money is right. Not sure I like a loan with no option - very short term-ist. He’d be cup tied out of the FA Cup and I don’t see him firing us to the play-offs single-handedly so seems like big wages for no real success? If we’ve talked Burnley down to a manageable fee and are buying him - much better.
  21. The debacle of early November was always going to have long reaching consequences. Be very interesting to see how it all plays out.
  22. Nixon reiterates on Twitter a point raised by some posters, next few days or not at all. If the price is 5 million… it just isn’t worth it, right?
