Amazing really you could have just cut and pasted this thread 19 years on, nothing has actually changed in all those years bar some infrastructure.

Must be very disheartening to be involved in a team where you pretty much know you’re going to lose most fixtures because you can’t compete. Has anyone ever put it to the owner why he doesn’t seem bothered about having successful teams playing in the shiny infrastructure.

Whatever we think of Ashton/Ipswich they’ve had far more enjoyment than we’ve had over several season’s , a promotion from league One a great season on their return to the Championship ,they may get hit with FFP if they don’t get to the Premiership this season but we’ve been in austerity for the last three years and never had a sniff at the top six .

Put the Newcastle game on 10 minutes ago and seen more action than the whole of 2024 at Ashton Gate! Oh to have something to get excited about.

How many games has it taken our head coach to work out Conway and Wells may be the best option we have of actually scoring .

Is FFP beginning to hit home in the Championship? Thought Coventry looked distinctly lack lustre for a team around the top six, or did City work hard enough to make them look that way? Either way just my observations but it did make me grin when we have to resort to the pairing of Wells and Conway from the previous playing style to actually score a second goal .
