  1. Certainly was, steady and composed. Every bit the experienced Ryder cup player. Loved the celebration to deny them a whole point with that putt on the last hole of the day. Yeh, what's that about? Not big follower of the game year in year out, do they have previous?
  2. Goal and an assist for Williams tomorrow then!
  3. Such a high quality day of golf. Superb. Hopefully more to come tomorrow. Well done boys!
  4. Don't know who the US co-commentator is on Sky but he's mentioned the type of grass in the rough being an issue compared to what they have back home. Well don't hit the ball into it then!
  5. Just remembered another one i played a fair bit. LMA Manager by the great Codemasters on the PS1 around 99/2000. Pretty good for a console based management sim.
  6. Yesterday they have refunded me the full £140 for the season pass! When i check my subs, I'm still showing as subscribed for the season. Not sure what to do now. Do i contact them back and explain or just go with it? I try to avoid the illegal streams when possible and as i don't often get to attend games i like to contribute something to the club as a supporter, i'm happy to pay for it. Guess i'll find out if i do still have an active pass when i try and stream tomorrows game. They really have made a pigs ear of this.
  7. What a session that was. Whitewash.
  8. Give this one a go... https://cricfree.live/live/sky-sports-golf
  9. Never owned a C64 it always had the better graphics but as per the era it was always a numbers game with the management games. Not surprised at all you've clearly loved the data from a young age! Champ Manager...the next landmark and of course we all know what it's become these days. TBH I've found the last decade of FM games too involved bit probably showing my age. My last addiction to it was years back. Fantastic stuff though. Hats off to the Collyer bros.
  10. Made me laugh. Was that a sort of autocorrect or did you have Bob Carolgees in your mind at the time.
  11. Spent hours on Football Manager, another landmark game. Kevin Toms is still making them and released a free to play management game on iOS and Android this year. Also spent a fair bit of time on the underrated Football Director on the Spectrum. Shout out for Footballer of the Year as well.
  12. I think whatever it is will probably be the biggest surprise/twist in the series. A lot of what happens next week depends on if they are planning more than one season which they probably are.
  13. Yeh anywhere off the Gloucester Rd is very good. Budgets will vary, but it's got a bit of everything. Many independent shops, bars, pubs and restaurants. I grew up in the north end of it in Horfield and bar the blue few moving in during that time it's a great spot for all ages really. Just as easy to get central as it is to get out of the city via the motorway M4/M5 and Parkway station will get you on the mainline for the trains. If you want something closer to Ashton Gate then perhaps Bedminster or Southville. North Street is quite similar to Glos Rd these days if a bit shorter. If you have a big budget and still want to be close to the centre then your looking at Clifton or anywhere around the Downs. Further out Henleaze or Westbury on Trym are nice. Places like Easton, St Pauls, St Weburghs, Montpelier are still a bit rough around the edges but are full of hipsters and have some decent places to hang out and are again quite close to the center. Somewhere like Fishponds is a middle ground and not far out. Unless your budget is limited, you will probably want to avoid the large council estates like Lockleaze, Filton, Patchway, Knowle West, Hartcliffe, Henbury, Lawrence Weston. I'd lived in Bristol all my life until about 6 months ago and moved to south Wales just for space, a larger more affordable house and a more pedestrian countrified lifestyle. In my 20s i lived in Horfield, Montpelier and St Pauls and wouldn't change any of that. For nightlife, i'll leave that to some of the younger forum members as im probably twice your age now but the city center, harbourside, Park Street are still the main spots to for a night out....i think! Hope you settle well and enjoy Bristol. I've travelled well both in this country and abroad and it's good city with lots to offer.
  14. Gavin was far more skillful and tricky but i don't think i've seen a player to this day like Smith who could cross a ball whilst running at full speed as well as he did, sometimes whilst sliding on his arse! Just knock it past the full back and go, no frills just pace and determination.
  15. Good caliber of an appointment for them but he's certainly going to have his work cut out to keep them in L1.
  16. Yep, great memories. It was a benchmark game. It probably caused more fights with my brother than anything else growing up. That and Actua Soccer on PS1 with its almost surgically accurate, VAR like offsides. Many a controller thrown in fury with that one.
  17. Match Day on the Spectrum for me. Loved Kick Off on the Amiga and Sensi was legendary. My cousin was in the World of Soccer version. Played for the Adelaide Blue Eagles!
  18. Nice souvenir. I think it does generate some banter between the players, comparing stats etc.
  19. I started going in 86 when i was 10, so i'd say possibly 87-88, maybe 88-89? I do struggle to remember back that far these days!
  20. Could listen to his dulcet tones all day. Always speaks with common sense and passion for the game and playes as well.
  21. Don't follow the golf much but always watch The Ryder Cup. 2012 still remains one of the greatest sporting comebacks i've ever seen in my life.
  22. We have unfulfilled potential. That's how I'd class us.
  23. And they will still be in with a chance to win 10k. So the club pay the players, the players put a few quid into the academy then if they did happen to win, take 10k out of the club? #gaslogic
