  1. Of course, as I've said it's all about opinions, I'm choosing to believe in what I've seen so far and get behind manning, I know I'm in a small minority of fans that will do that. ( not that I think the majority aren't behind him, just unsure at the moment ) I just believe if he is given the right backing he will be a great coach for us.
  2. Just from my own personal view not expecting anyone to think how I do at all....he talks about a modern way of playing, he did well with Oxford, and the players talk about how they enjoy training and its exciting, just all about opinions and this is just mine, happy to be proven wrong and have no issue at all if I'm wrong but think we just need to give the guy time and get behind him.
  3. Not really stupid is it, he looks for these things in players he wants them to be brave and forward thinking, isn't that what we want as fans ? If you don't have players who have it in them then you need get rid of those players and bring players in that have that mentality.....that will take time, but you are right he needs results
  4. That's alright you are allowed to disagree, Haven't we always been like this though?we've always struggled to break sides down that sit In, even under Johnson, holden and Pearson we've always been better against sides that come at us. So that's not manning, that's the players that he has right now. I think we need a top quality attacking midfielder that fits his system my worry is will we have the money to bring in that type of player it's ok bringing in these lower league players who might well have potential but we need quality proven players right now. I think people struggle to see what he's trying to do because the players he has can't play that way we have a few that can move the ball quickly but once they give it to tanner or James the ball goes backwards. Obviously it's not helped with comments from lansdown that we have a top 10 squad that just adds unnecessary pressure that manning doesn't Need, realistically though what do people actually expect I've watched us 32 years ( and I know it's not about I've supported city ex amounts of years) but we've only ever been league 1 championship. We are where we should be with the budget we have and that sucks cause we all want to be successfull of course but until lansdown either starts splashing more money on quality ( which i don't think he will and neither should he its his money ) we will keep ending up the same place just my opinion of course and probably get told I'm chatting shit, but nothing new there
  5. I have no doubts manning is a quality coach, I'm pleased we have him, I do find the way he talks a little boring ( nothing wrong with that im a boring bastard too ) but he's admitted himself we will get bored of hearing it, but he has a plan and a way of playing, we've moaned for years we don't have an identity of how we play and you can see what he's trying to do. Once he starts getting players in that can play the way he wants I'm sure we will see more consistent results. Attacking mid and a striker for me is what we need.
  6. Best of luck to him certainly worked hard and give 100% everytime but as I have seen others say probably best for both sides that he moves on.
  7. Hey everyone, decided to give the west ham replay a miss. I went to the game at the London stadium I enjoyed the game and taking my son to the game but my mental health has taking a nose dive the last day or 2 and I just can't face going this is the 1st time ever I have felt this way about attending because it is always something that has helped my mental health, feel sad that I feel this way but know it will help me in the long run.
  8. Awesome performance from the lads, proud to be there, just need to churn these performances out in the league, hopefully some quality signings can help with that.
  9. Nice to see this flagged up again, so important to keep talking if you need to, I've been up and down over Christmas, just dad guilt that I don't see my son Christmas day although I did get to see him quiet a bit, it's not quiet the same. Sending hugs and thoughts to whoever needs them.
  10. Completley understand what you mean, I hadn't thought of it like that, I am finding it harder to go to games and to be honest if it wasn't for my sons love of it now I am not sure I'd bother so much. The cost of things, the negativity that surrounds football atm especially with VAR ( granted not in our league but I don't take much interest in prem football anymore) it all get's a bit to much for me sometimes.
  11. It mainly comes down to common sense doesn't it really Look at the Wolves one against Man Utd when Onana clattered the wolves player that was a stonewall penalty. I've not seen the Newcastle pen from last night only seen a still picture of it. so can't comment on that to much but there have been handballs where the player cannot get his hand out of the way, so common sense should tell a qualified ref wether it be on the pitch or sat in a room that it shouldn't be given, but the rule changes mean they have to consider everything. The offside thing is a tough one offside is offside of course but if VAR is used for clear and obvious errors how the hell is an on field linesman meant to know if a players toe nail is offside and if you need lines to decide that then its clearly not an error. I don't know what the answers are TBH. But the reasons i go to City and get passionate about it is for us to get to the top league and play some of the best teams in the world and ok people might say we wouldn't beat them anyway but, VAR is punishing teams unfairly and I would hate that to be city.
  12. VAR really killing my passion for football I have no team in the Prem so it shouldn't bother me as much as it should.....but it does we shouldn't be talking about decisions 3-4 days later on things The laws don't help at all they need ripping up and re writing.
  13. This game was my 1st visit to watch England. Was really looking forward to seeing some of our best players play. Also my sons first ever trip to Wembley. Finding our seats and seeing his face when he 1st saw the size of it was about as exciting as it got I'm afraid. The Mexican wave and paper aeroplanes were more exciting than the game. Not one player for England stood out for me where I thought wow. I did get what Southgate said after that players won't always play to their maximum against these sort of teams, whilst a little arrogant. It's true. But why didn't he give other players a chance who haven't had many caps. They would've have been chomping at the bit to play and would've wanted to impress, also on a side note I thought Malta looked decent passed the ball around nicely, sadly for them they'd still be there now trying to score just had no end product. Hoping to sort tickets for the game against Brazil so hopefully get to see a more exciting game.
  14. Yeah foden was good that night, i just felt for what I knew of Forden and my lack of knowledge of Lewis, Lewis impressed me alot
  15. the kid is fantastic, I thought he was the best player for them against us, proper modern RB who slots into midfield.
  16. Of course I get what you're saying, though I'm sure they get for more interaction then any of us do on here, and it must get a bit much at times, still well with in their rights to do what they want on their own social media channels. And communicate the right way ( which obviously they haven't done recently)
  17. Don't get the problem really, if someone was talking about you somewhere and you didn't agree with what they were saying surely you have the right to block them for your own sake. Wether it's the truth or not doesn't give people the right to say some of the things I've seen.
  18. My 1st Away day of the season, my son's 1st ever away day and Liam Mannings 1st game in charge what could possibly go wrong....., excited to see how we line up and hopefully we get a good performance and a positive result C.O.Y.R's
  19. Yeah I hadn't realised he stopped so young i think injuries played a part. I do believe that people who didn't really make it at the highest playing level usually make better coaches.
  20. Of course that's the danger but I think if that was to happen criticism will be at the board more than likely, Hopefully we get a positive result Saturday and a god performance and then he has 2 weeks to really get his ideas over to the players....On a seperate thing I've just driven past the HPC and saw the team bus being packed up so he's only had yesterday and this morning with the players unless they plan to train somewhere in London.
  21. Really interesting watch, always had an interest in coaching, good to see it all broken down in to parts, I think from the very early signs I've seen and heard we are in capable hands.
  22. No not seen this one will listen later thanks fevs, I can't find how to share the link but if you go to bbc sounds and search the dub it will come up as the newest one
