  1. I cant see how I share it but it's on bbc sounds if you just search the dub an Oxford united podcast it is the newest one.
  2. I've been listening to LM interview today on the official site and press conference he speaks very well, comes across like a genuine nice guy and fits everything we want in the head coach. I also Listened to the Podcast with his Assistant head coach Chris Hogg, He seems like a character and was talking about how they are more of a team (He didn't suggest this the interviewer did) along the lines of Howe and Tindall at Newcastle.....not for one minute suggesting that they will hit those heights. But I am exctited about this appointment. Obviously proof will be in the pudding.
  3. Totally agree, I think people just find it easier to be negative around these appointments because the chances are highly likely he will fail and they can say see told you. Where as I would rather be positive and give the guy a chance.
  4. Will be going to this my boys 1st ever away game.....complete faf with the tickets though. Thankfully Jerry sorted it all out. Thank you Jerry
  5. Hey Everyone just wanted to check in with everyone and see how you are all doing? Football for me helps me massively with my mental health struggles, I've obviously seen lots of people talking and the backlash of losing Nigel Pearson, some of it in my opinion very over the top and unnecessary. It's not triggered me at all but just got me thinking how people have been affected by this last weeks events obviously there a numerous threads on the main page and a lot of the stuff I cant be assed to go through. But this page seems a bit more open and level headed.
  6. Slightly different in the fact that Manning has been a coach since he was 21, Been to lots of different countries, learnt lots of philosophies under lots of different coaches, Holden.....well Holden will never be a Number 1 he's a good coach and a good assistant, but that is it, Manning has improved MK Dons and Oxford and plays the sort of football we want i think it is a good fit. He will need time to get his views across. Sadly though if he loses the 1st couple people will be on his back.
  7. Completely agree, really looking forward to somebody new with new ideas, and a modern approach on it. Will 100% be behind him.
  8. Genuine question i have a very tiny memory of when I was a kid the fans storming the pitch in around late 80's early 90's chanting for the board to be sacked can't remember the outcome, my question is how would this process work ? and what would then happen? (I know that's 2 Questions)
  9. Hope Nige gets well soon and they've managed to get to the bottom of what is causing it.
  10. How have they messed up, they are privy to what goes on behind the scenes far more than we are. And we don't know they've messed up until the new person is appointed and he's given a period of time to get results, if he comes in and does well no one will have a problem if he comes in and we struggle then of course they messed up, as I said previously I loved Pearson what he stood for what he was trying to do. He has installed a great working environment. I think even if they came out and told the truth the majority wouldn't be happy because nige has gone, its tough to take when someone you like goes. One thing I will say though in order for this club to be successful I believe the lansdowns need to sale up and move on.
  11. Is it no wonder the club don't communicate much, the majority on here wanted them to speak they did and ok the 1st 2 minute interview was crap, and not at all what we deserved, they then do an interview with Radio Bristol reveal a little bit more of their thinking which they've explained was down to the injuries and time off over the international break and still that's not good enough for people. I loved Nigel and what he did for us in his time here, but i just feel there has been a huge over reaction to this. I'm not really sure what people want them to say.
  12. Post now reporting Lampard is not under consideration
  13. The sun reporting that Lampard set to return to management with Us. As its the sun we can assume it wont be him.
  14. No crayons were seen.
  15. I heard 2 fans talking on the way out of the ground last night that Pearson had tried to get rid of Mehmeti in the summer QPR wanted him (Ainsworth obviously had him at Wycombe) but the deal fell through at the last minute I didn't hear why and obviously this is just 2 people chatting so could be utter rubbish.
  16. Thought it was a good game, Ipswich were a decent side, and always looked capable of holding on the the lead, we just lacked that quality to get the goal, if cornicks shot goes in we would've gained a decent point. Hopefully the injuries picked up aren't to serious, but we are in danger of these really affecting our season.
  17. Will defo give this a listen when it comes out Martin Scott is the 1st player I can remember in a city shirt, can just about remember Andy Leaning.
  18. Wow put hairs on the back of my neck stand up, sums it up perfectly.
  19. Hope we get to give them a 1st away win too.
  20. Had a listen to this episode yesterday, interesting listen about his time at city and how he joined us, I really enjoy the episodes I've listened pretty much to all of them now, It just makes you realise that we have as fans no idea what goes on behind the scenes and hat players have going on in their lives, Jeff Winter( ex ref), Gary Roberts, Keith Treacy, Graham Westley episodes are worth a listen and the Dorking Wanderers story is incredible too.
  21. Purchased ours today, 1st away game for me this season and my sons 1st ever away game also never been to Loftus Road so that will be interesting just by looking at some of the comments about it.
  22. I'm Sorry to read people's posts of people they love taking their own lives, I've thankfully never had this happen to anyone I know, though i do know people who have had thoughts and I've even have had them myself. It's so important to keep talking about this and raising awareness around mental health. The more people who keep talking about it are people who can make a difference I've shared my story on twitter or X as its now known the support I got was incredible. Please if anyone is struggling reach out I know it's tough but just getting things off your chest really helps. or even if you write how you are feeling down it can make a big difference. I found once I Had written things down it made more sense or better understanding of why I was feeling a certain way. Sending hugs to whoever needs them and even those who don't.
