  1. Buy youth/abroad low, sell high and factoring that into financial fair play. A. You may never sell a player for profit, so shouldn't assume you will. B. Don't blame covid, had long enough to adjust.
  2. City are the basis of a whole segment here, basically having business model ripped to pieces by Mr Jordan and CO Essentaily if the points deduction comes, we'll deserve it for a terrible modal that shouldn't even be allowed. Thoughts from those listening?
  3. Sure it happened in a N. Ireland game V the Swiss a few years back.
  4. Bent Goodridge Murray Adomah When you grow up with that lineage, you kind of expect the right winger to be an exciting, bums off seat type guy as a minimum. The fact he wore a QPR shirt while at boro only adds to his legend status. The exact opposite of how half footballers seem to be, carragher being one.
  5. I think the regular commentator has come into his own this season. Slating players is obv not part of the job spec, however he has definitely tonned down being overly positive when it's clear the game has gone.
  6. Two corner crimes A. Taking it short, with no routine in mind B failure to beat the near post man
  7. J. Pearce. Firstly far more than just a fan. I had no idea he was that closely connected to the club. Secondly, and yes this is a little bit off topic, because they do deserve a moment just about them. But football, it's in all of us, and everything we do, isn't it? The momories, the moments, the friendships, the amazing, the embarrassing, the have we really just conceded in injury time again. from the children seeing a stadium for the first time, to those now in countries further a field, connecting to their club however they can. they didn't just save a football club, they saved this gift giving way of life for generations to come.
  8. I'd love to tell you.. But I remember two things about that day, plus two parent memories passed on 1. The kickabout in the warm up, having essentially your superheroes passing a ball to you, it's like is this a dream or what. 2. Going round post game getting as many signatures my ball as possible, I got all bar two I think... A few years later, by brothers used said ball for a kickabout in the rain, like we didn't have enough at home; every signature was rubbed off. I was gutted ? Al! Apparently the reason I'm holding the ball is because I kept running off without it, it took a few goes to get this photo. B. Apparently I ignored half my family from the moment I left the tunnel for warm up, till after kick off. They kept trying to speak to me, but I was in a land far away. ?
  9. Commanders replacing redskins History repeats itself in ways we don't always expect.
  10. Don't think a truer statement exists tbh ? It's ridiculous, it really does feel like that, on hypermode in injury time
  11. At first, to be honest I thought he was fouled, but was of the opinion some for, some against. But then I saw this angle which is basically the refs angle Check out here from 8m 40sec, from this angle it really does look an absolute stonewall foul. Bearing in mind it's the refs angle, how can he not give one?
  12. + he was fouled, like really clearly fouled If he goes to the corner, they get ball they score, is that is his fault too? I mean he didn't know exactly long left. Easy hindsight blame if you ask me. Can't do much if you are fouled.
  13. Leaning Newman, Taylor, bent.... Pretty much childhood superheros right there. They should never have been sold, they should still be playing today ?
  14. If I remember it was a pretty decent following that day too. That or the people who were there has grown in my head over time. What a crazy game that was
  15. First game I can remember, (not my first apparently)
  16. It pretty hard to buy something with a hard cap. Rules are same for everyone, some just play them better, and others are better at being all in
  17. Well that was a new inventive way to not win a game. The kick in the nuts hurts, but its much less depressing when playing with purpose. Finally feels like there is a direction.
  18. Since and including QPR, the team has been different. The goals are a result of it, not the entertainment. The energy and intent has been there, so even if mistakes are made in application, fans respond positively. A circle of positivity has essentially been created by energy and intent. Long may it continue.
  19. Journeyman - not so good Mercenary - higher level player matching expectations for that level, no connection to that club, moves on. Adomah isn't actually either of these words Tevez for example, more of a mercenary Morata - somewhere between both Andy Carroll - journeyman, just couldn't stay fit, but often worth a punt ....... Thinks its also a bit of a crossover British English, more about the clubs at a lower level. American English, more about reasons behind the moves and not achieving
  20. The Chiefs had no right to win that, they were dead
  21. Basso, Webster, Marv, Albert, goater
  22. First time I've ever seen a ref and gone ffs. Generally don't care, but him, ffs
