Enough of this hilarity and back to more serious business, is there any more news on their overdue accounts yet or are the administrators still giving them the once over?

They're far more concerned about their big screen TV finally being installed for Saturday's game it would seem.

Ah but we aren’t as unique as them are we, just listen to this moron.......

For me it just epitomises everything I hate about City. It’s a copy and paste job from Brentford or Walsall’s badge and just lacks any trace of originality. There are plenty of teams called City, plenty that wear red with a white trim and even a fair few that share the “robin” mascot. It’s all so artificial and boring. For all our faults, we are incredibly unique, there aren’t that many Rovers around, only one other team in the entire football league play in quarters, we have a quirky and original club anthem in Goodnight Irene and no other team is nicknamed either the pirates or the gas. I’d never trade that to be in the position that City are in, it's part of why I love the club so much.

Wonder if they'll ever question why everything is so 'unique' there? I guess nobody has been able to break into the locked Gashchat to tell them that unique is not necessarily a good thing. Certainly not in their case.

One of them has actually taken the time to draw a cock on our badge. They're a bit weird aren't they?

They are now hoping for an aggregate gate of 50000 from their last 5 games.

    http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/14031/50-000

To put that into perspective our aggregate gate from our first five fixtures was over 106000...

    Mind the gap fewers

Just had a quick read through that. Even suggestions to increase the away allocations to boost crowds. Realistically, it's a good idea for them. Seems silly letting a few thousand tickets go unsold every week if teams like Charlton/Pompey would come down and snap them up.  They could really use the extra money.

Classic Rovers though isn't it. Imagine they did that and started selling out games as a result, all we'd here about is how they've outgrown the Mem, well, more so than we do already!

Not sure if anyone else has posted on this but wtf was all that Elton John concert shit with the fag lighters in their gurt hard end ?

I turned it on near the end and saw that. I assumed it was to help Nicholls locate the goal posts - their take on this classic:

Will be in north Kent in a couple of weeks time and a Gillingham supporting mate wants to take me to see them play the Gas, we will be sitting with the Gills fans behind the goal, was just wondering what might be the best songs to teach them?

    Thoughts?

Given their huge reputation for having such loyal and true fans, I feel like they'd get incredibly offended at a simple 'your support is f*****g s**t'.

No I think you will find he is right and we took over 40,000 to Wembley against Shrewsbury, we have got a massive fan base but all the sh** we have had to put up with stop a lot from going like a sh** ground for one, if the Uwe would have happened I think we would be getting crowds of 15,000 more if we were in the playoffs

Another classic. So moving to a new ground would multiply their attendances by 2? Gas logic at its finest.

Let's be honest though, we'll never find out what a new stadium would do to their attendances as they're never getting one...

Oh hang on, that post says 15k MORE than what they currently get?! I thought they were talking rubbish at expecting just 15k!

I actually think they like the fact that they aren't getting a new stadium. It gives them free reign to continue spouting this sort of nonsense.

30sqm sounds huge for a ground that size, does anyone know what size our screens are?

Not sure on the size other than 'twice the size of the indoor screen in the bar' but found the article from 16th September when they first came over:

    https://www.bristolbearsrugby.com/news/big-screens-arrive-at-ashton-gate/

Found it quite funny that ours also had to be housed in a 'bespoke structure' - took two weeks to sort and install as we got the engineers who created it over from Korea rather than asking Frank from round the corner to try and fit them for us:

  9. Huge game for that lot today against one of the only sides that are somehow worse than them at the moment.

Thought I'd have a nose over on their forum and nearly spat out my coffee in laughter to see that the top thread was them still going on about the 'big screen TV' that seems to be on a crazy journey. It's got to the stage where they're making jokes at their own expense now.

I remember the great journey when we got the big screen up next to the Atyeo. Turned up one day, looked over and it was there - end of story.

Ooooops I just found out that I paid 300 for something I could have had for free 120 days ago .......
    ???

Ah yes, I forgot how much they enjoyed this.

Makes it even funnier when you think of how wound up they got with the 'disrespectful' snake gif.

And they've painted the roof of the main (only) stand - fair play!

I couldn't make out if that was a new paint job or just a brighter day ?.

Looks like they cut down some trees/bushes to the right of that main stand so that the thousands locked out in the car park can still get a look at the pitch.

It's all true of course, match officials are biased towards us and regularly give red cards to the opposition for offences such as 'trying to score against us', 'taking free kicks when we weren't ready' and 'saying nasty things about our Darrell'.  We get penalties for opposition players being 'ex gert Teds' and 'having some red on their shirt'.

The bias is there for all to see, the league tables don't lie.

There's probably a slightly more simple reason in that the standard of refereeing somehow gets even worse as you look down the divisions. But that's not as much fun.

I think historically Rovers seem to have had far more opponents sent off particularly at fortress Mem

It's not just about the red cards either - penalties are the worst.

About 9-10 years ago, one of my gashead colleagues used to always have a joke about it. He used to say that as they had no one that could actually shoot, their strikers would spend 90% of their time on the ball running around in the penalty area until they got fouled.
