  1. How many of those performances were actually effective though? Him and Adam Nagy were two of the most underwhelming midfield signings in recent memory. I know it’s controversial but I honestly felt he flattered to deceive most of the time.
  2. I’m not really sure why they signed him. He couldn’t hack it at Championship level so can’t imagine he will pull up any trees in the Premier League.
  3. It won’t be the last time but I remember we scored 3 in the first half vs Barnsley in the first game of the season I think in 2017, it was Famara’s debut
  4. Why do we always insist on having a “gimmick” in relation to our shirt? It would have been perfectly fine with a generic patterned design but the city logo makes it look cartoonish. Shame as otherwise it’s a nice shirt
  5. I think an even more unfair disadvantage is that it’s the team that lost 6-0 to Cardiff in 2010
  6. Dean Gerken Bradley Orr Louis Carey Liam Fontaine Jamie McAllister Lewin Nyatanga Paul Hartley Evander Sno Cole Skuse Jamal Campbell-Ryce Danny Haynes Marvin Elliott Nicky Maynard Patrick Agyemang
  7. Is this guy not very good, low on confidence, struggling to adapt to a new level or what? He seems very much a confidence player struggling with his decision making at the moment. It’s a shame as he was transferred with much promise in January and was supposed to be a main target this summer, so he’s had an extra six months to get up to speed ready for this season but it doesn’t seem to have worked. He’s still young so hopefully in time he will flourish, could use that sooner rather than later though as we are struggling for goals at the moment!
  8. Really enjoyed NP’s answer to the question from the journo in his presser about potentially sending Benarous out on loan, he basically said fat chance why would you just bung someone out on loan when they’ve had the physical and mental toll of recovering from 2 ACL injuries. You can really tell he cares about the players as individuals and their welfare comes first, rather than being used as pawns in a game of chess
  9. Give it 8 months they’ll want to show all of our games for the title run in
  10. Of all the games we could have been televised this is probably the least glamorous of all of them. Why this was chosen I have no idea!

  12. to focus on his lawn care business, which has been endorsed by none other than Micah Richards, Tom Lockyer and James Chester, who are apparently really impressed with the results. Have to say I was less than impressed with the results of his short time here, but let’s hope that football’s loss is grass’ gain (pun intended) https://www.grassgains.co.uk
  13. Interesting analysis about the resilient culture Pearson is building at the club. Hopefully we can see it come to fruition this season. Enjoyed watching it so thought it would be worth a share. Sorry not able to embed the link for some reason but here it is: https://x.com/foxpunter/status/1691795542261587992?s=46&t=FbdIExP5l4WfbK9ETY63_g
  14. It would be Chelsea equivalent of being stuck with Gustav Engvall until 2031 with the option to extend until 2032…..
  15. Signing players on 8 year contracts will do that for you, so much so that the rules are being changed to only allow teams to spread the amortisation cost over 5 years to close the “loophole” being exploited by Chelsea. It’s risky though because if a player suffers long term injury issues or just isn’t as good as they thought they’re lumbered with the player on a lengthy contract which may make the player difficult to sell
  16. In a hilarious bit of analysis, The Second Tier podcast have said that we have a squad that should be pushing for the top six, but because of their irrational hatred of Pearson they’ve shoved us in 16th in their predictions.
  17. Biggest talking point I reckon is that he said even if we sell Scott we won’t be able to sign many more players as we are at the top end of our wage budget already. He also referred to us looking to sign one more player which I inferred was a goalkeeper (although he didn’t specify that). The rest of it was the usual stuff but he seemed happy with how things are shaping up.
  18. Have to say there’s an unnerving serenity and lack of controversy / drama about this whole pre-season period. Hopefully that reflects well in our performances and we can have a stress free season for once!
  19. I’ve heard the new presenter is Mark Carter, it should be an interesting interview.
  20. Not the Top 20 podcast have us finishing 10th this year, which is pretty decent I think
  21. If you can’t think of anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all
  22. It feels suspiciously similar to last season’s table, with the only real outlier being Birmingham who he has put in 10th because of their summer signings. Feels too safe to me!
  23. Norwich, Watford and West Brom in the top six tells me all I need to know about these predictions. Digital loo roll
