Couple of things ,
looks like some big teams coming up from league 1 next year
Pompey ( that will be lively ) Derby & Bolton .
another point firstly why is Max Bird coming to us surely Derby are a bigger club , also is he injured already I have looked at the team sheets for the last month or so and he not in line ups or on benchDon't fret, mate, they was equally as "big" when they went down. Sheffield Wednesday are bleedin' massive, whether they're going up or down.
Next season is not so much about how "big" the other teams are - although, having said that, I'd like Rotherham in this division every time we're in it - it’s about us and what we do with what we've got. Look what we've done today.
One of the three coming up will likely struggle in the bottom 4 or 5. The bigger they are, the bigger the muddle they can get themselves in.

Roberts played excellent I thought
We got ten lads to do the simple stuff, do we need eleven?

Liam Manning is clearly a coach for a higher standard (see West 'am, Forest, Southampton) than Bristol City and middle of the Championship and the worthy squad of players we have at our disposal, it's just a question of: can Bristol City reach the level Manning is at, and destined to be.

Hapgood won 5 league titles and 2 FA Cups with Arsenal.
Lloyd won 2 League titles, 2 European Cups, a UEFA cup, a European Super Cup and 2 League Cups.
If think it’s fair to say both had illustrious careers.
Larry also picked up a medal when losing the 1971 Cup Final to Arsenal. I think he might just be the most medalled Bristolian footballer. Those European medals are going to take some beating by any future Bristol kiddies playing the game

I would think Eddie Hapgood.
Are we counting Anglo-Scotch cup?

Most decorated - medalled - Bristolian footballer, must be?

Pre Southgate the squad was nowhere near as good.
The team plays not to lose when against decent opposition.
And usually ends up losing.
Next step for Southgate: set team up to play not to win and see how we go with that ...

It does illustrate that 'good players' don't mean good results. Look at the Dutch... wonderful team, great players, zero world cups
Three World Cup finals on foreign soil, mind. No home WCs. And one of the Top Ten of all time.

A 'derby' at Eastville, I would be up for that; playing the Few at the Memorial Ground, not interested. Eastville was a mess but it was quite big, it felt like a big thing, game. A big day out, even.

"Which one do you want me to

When has this ever happened though?
My first City games were 94/95 against Tranmere and Derby County. Crowds of about 8,000 rattling around a more than half empty stadium. I don't recall the atmosphere being vociferous or intimidating.
That's cos yer rock hard, Kid

They were, they were really awful.
Only visit there for me was the game after Louie Donowa’s goal that beat the gas.
0-0, 12000 crowd, they were booed off.
Absolute myth that they have always had good crowds.
Yeah, but .... that was a good crowd, given, er, the points you made earlier in the thread ....

Nothing confirmed yet but just saw this. It may be quiet at BS3 until we stuff Leicester who dont now want to get to the Premier league as they'll face points deductions, but this is of relevance to anyone on here who still wants SL to punt more of HIS millions into getting us promoted (some year). The entire PL has been so discredited i cant believe it will exist in a few years time. Begs an older question of what we do want financially from our owners. Main point is watch this space re Etihad City as it'll ripple down the leagues;
The Commission added: “Where a PSR breach is ‘minor’, then it will be for other Commissions to determine if any points deduction is necessary, appropriate or proportionate.
“But if the breach is properly described as ‘major’ then it may be the case that even a very severe sanction such as expulsion is more appropriate.”
The "get yer wallet out Steve" of years gone by is all but gone now, replaced by the more blunt "sell up and **** off" if you hadn't noticed?
