And when it looked like we might move to Ashton Vale, how many times did you hear the hope that we’d not end up in a soulless bowl of a new ground, but stay at our traditional home and make that better.

And, for me, we did just that. In terms of facilities, made it better than I think most of us could have ever dreamed of.

Agree about the move to a soulless new ground and the desire to remain home .
However, it’s right to try a few home improvements for the sake of a better atmosphere and backing for the team … reckon the Dolman a and b plan is a good one ,

Also not sure we can’t also have a few blocks of Ayteo - we did for the Man U cup game. Right next to away fans would help n all.

Not for millions of lower paid workers able to strike again pay and conditions better.

Only people whinging are the better off.

I’d say lots of people are whingeing as we’ve been sold a lie and everyone is worse off!

Eu law  protects the rights of the worker  though, holiday pay, sick pay etc . That’s partly why the billionaires wanted out. Americans for example have zero employment protection and very little rights.

There’s nothing that now enables workers to strike that wasn’t there before so curious as to why you’d say that.

public sector workers are struggling due to 13 years of Tory cuts (add an n) and mismanagement and now huge inflation caused by Ukraine and made worse here by Brexit.

worst own goal in history yet zero acknowledgment that things have gotten worse from the clowns that got us into this mess.

And this is the absurdity of this maelstrom of discontent - 5 more points and we'd be eyeing 5th & 6th ; fine margins!

5 points less and we’d be bottom! Well joint bottom anyway.
Reasons for discontent have been discussed at length. Players out of position, ineffective in-game management/subs etc.

let’s all hope we pull a few wins out of the bag starting tonight and the dissenting voices will quieten .

I don’t think it shows you care about the club. It’s your opinion, and you’re entitled to it, but by your definition those that don’t agree with you care less than you??

I think the club is moving forward under NP. I accept that results are mixed and he has made mistakes, but in my opinion lots that is going on is good. To me it feels like he is working to a blueprint and is pushing the players to show that they are worthy of being part of our future. I have absolutely no problem with that, and this narrative of him throwing players under the bus etc is nonsense. All he has done as I see it, is to make decisions about who should be in the team/squad. It’s what he is paid for!! It’s easy with the gift of hindsight to decide that he got it wrong. Amazing how good some players become when they’re not in the team. There have also been plenty of occasions when OTIB has gone into meltdown when the team has been announced only for the team to play well and win.

The first part of the season was as good as we’ve been for a number of years. Things have undoubtedly dropped off and hopefully the squad can be freshened up with some trading/ loans in January.

Keep the faith. Let’s give Pearson the next two windows and see where that takes us. I firmly believe it will be top ten.

    In league one?

Do you trust the higher-ups to make the right appointment? I for sure as hell don't.

We're not plucky Bristol City spunking money down the drain anymore. No 'big names' will come here, people been spouting these names for years and we still end up with nowt. We are not as big or as good as we think we are. Never have been.

This proper rebuild we're trying to make takes time, football fans and people in general have no patience anymore.

We could be in the Championship, League One or National League South and I'd still support and get behind them. This is the first time since SC's reign where we had a man who is trying to initiate real change and for once the Lansdown family are actually on board with it instead of wasting money.

All I see is this entitlement and I have no idea where it has come from.

I've actually enjoyed watching us quite a lot this season, probably for the first time since 2017-2018.

I don’t think the sack Nige viewpoint is based on  entitlement. As many have said on this thread, it’s the consistent playing players out of position and the continued mistakes made .  His substitutions and inability to impact a game are worrying. How many times have we lost leads in Nige’s reign? No one expects us to dominate this league but if we were smarter with our players and tactics then it’s not ridiculous to think we could easily be mid table . Supporters have every right to call this out and be highly critical.

The mis use of Weimann baffles everyone . It’s like playing fellow top scorers from last season, Mitrovic or Solanke, at RWB.

yesterday there was a certain passiveness to our play and players weren’t giving everything to win every ball. You could see it all over the park.

Given the above I’d say time for a change

I agree about the higher ups and hiring tho . This is an area where we’d be hoping they get lucky as opposed to having a well considered succession plan!

  6. As a part timer I’d have gone but cheapest ticket was 35. Not paying that. Didn’t even know it was on red button.
Given the number of home games in a short time I’m surprised the club haven’t done a few mates rates /kid offers over these last few weeks. Missed opportunity I’d say.
We always seem to get a good bump on the gates when ticket prices are reduced .
Should do it for every midweek game I reckon - I’m not saying that because I’m too tight to pay full whack!

Well said.  I thought it was a really entertaining game, particularly for a 0-0.  Sometimes you just have to give the opposition credit for defending well.

Agree . Thought we looked comfortable in possession albeit wasteful in attack from some well constructed moves.

We never really looked threatened at the back . Folk have been clamouring for improvements in defending , which we’ve seen.  We look like a mid table side who could threaten the top with a decent run, a long way from the performances of the last 2 years.  Not bad.

Scott gave the ball away a few times. Can see why he was subbed. Not that he had a bad game before I get slaughtered.

Agree . Got caught a couple of times trying to be a bit cute. Reckon he’ll learn quickly from that as he’s clearly a smart footballer.
At times plays like a seasoned midfielder, tracking back, reading danger. Joy to watch.

  9. Can understand the OP as I said to my mate at the time the Scott sub was a big gamble . He’d just (I think- memory is hazy) done the amazing tackle, run and through ball for Martin and it seemed like a gamble to remove our maestro and constant threat - Attack being a form of defence n all.
    The subs gamble paid off.
Getting extra height in by bringing on Klose to protect our lead felt right at the time and I thought  martin held the ball up well and did a job. Loved that game tho. Really think that in wells/Conway (the w/c anyone?!! ) we have a template to attack certain games. Great to have  options mind init.

  10. Wrong nite for a ‘but’ I’d say. One of the best performances we’ve put in for some time. Strong performances from starting 11 and subs.
    Tonight  gives us real hope.

thought we put in a fantastic display and commitment as a team . We were dominant until the sending off and disciplined afterwards .
