I actually think this is one of the lowest ebbs in my lifetime as a Rovers fan. The fact that Mansfield, 18th in League Two have managed to  poach a manager who has-within one calendar year and on a very limited budget- from relegation certs to 4th in the table (we could even go second today) should confirm to every Rovers fan that the current board have absolutely no interest other than their own financial one in the club. It should also be remembered that the manager was employed on the cheap, I didn't even realise he was at the club until his appointment!

Against all the odds, Coughlan has done a great job, probably too good for the owners who have now been exposed for what they are. Mind you, there are a few who have now turned on our former manager for the way he left (personally I think once he was refused permission to talk to Mansfield, he engineered a situation which forced the boards hand) Those who now  blame Coughlan, remind me of people who blame those on benefits and immigrants  for all of societies ills rather than looking upward to those who created the conditions in the first place.

Anyway, the point I am eventually trying to get to, is that many people on here have said 'City fans wouldn't take this' and my answer to that is, yes you would, all football fans do.

Sure there may be a few banners and shouts of 'Sack the board', but there are very, very few occasions this has any effect and even when it has worked (Blackpool for example) it takes years and the damage has already been done.

There is very little appetite for people to get involved with anything let alone football as long as they are doing reasonably okay.  I saw nothing but scorn thrown at Labours plans to change how football clubs were owned ,bizarrely in my social circle by a few people who go to games in Germany because they love watching games over there, but also in the wider general media.

The Premier League certainly changed football and there are many, many of those changes that have improved it but it has been at a cost to some and while forums are full of fans crying crocodile tears over the likes of Bury, most of them couldn't give a flying **** as long as their team are okay. City fans have very little to moan about, but if Lansdown's interest did ever wane, any anti board shouts would soon disappear as a couple of wins came along. Tis the way of the world :)

I think he's proved that you need to have a word with this window licker's carer not dealer.

That is some twilight third dimension he's living in and the surprising thing is that they actually believe they are bigger.

Of course its not about how many League Championships, Premier Leagues, F A Cups, League Cups or how many times you have appeared in the Champions League, Europa League,  UEFA Cup or Cup Winners Cup. What we should be asking [& I'm sure this is what this specimen of basket case has based his gaslogic on] is HAVE ANY OF THOSE TEAMS WON THE WATNEY CUP

I think we all know by now that everytime they need reassurance that their clubs existence matter’s it goes back to some opposition’s fan ‘once’ saying ‘fair play you brought a good away following’ They cling on to that like a nugget on a ass cheek!!! By the time they’ve used their gaslogic on it you get condemned lunatics like the one above spouting utter nonsense!!!

3 and a half months - plus you are including June and July which is a bit misleading .... but still hilarious in the context of tonight’s game though!

To be honest I just got that stat from a twitter feed.... I wouldn’t have the time to actually work out something like that myself ?

I actually know a rovers “fan” who has swapped to City, which if I am honest I respect him less for then when he was a gashead.

He asked to come to a game with me and my group and I told him that isn’t ever happening, back in the late 90’s when there was a real rivalry he would give me all sorts of abuse as a prowed gashead,  it makes me sad to think people change their club based on a new stadium etc. and he will always be that guy to me!

of course, new generations of fans is different in my opinion, but once you have chosen you have chosen - OTIB!

So does this ex rovers fan mate of yours ever invite you over to his home in Guernsey!

Brighton literally bought your best player to stick in their reserves who then got out muscled by little Tom Nichols who then scored what must be his 7th goal in about 100 apps.

Thanks for spending another night obsessing over us.

Much love, always in your minds,

    Rovers x

Rovers really are missing a trick here (unless negotiations/bullying are already underway)

It’s the perfect opportunity for them to steal another ground and #### off out of Bristol..!

I’m sure once the pikeys hear that the ground is up for grabs they’ll be parking up their caravans on the centre circle

Close to the centre maybe but where is he getting the idea that the fruit market would give them publicity and prestige?  And he has a wonderful crystal ball if he has already seen that it will put AG in the shade.

All of this is great though, it is going to make it all so much funnier when their stadium dreams collapse (again).

Just had a browse at that thread on that forum.. I knew they were deluded but I can’t believe how many of them have actually been duped into thinking that this is a goer!!

Wael will sell the Mem in the near future recoup his family’s losses.. The Gas will ground share with some Sunday League team and in the meantime Wael will day because of the council doing a (fake) u-turn the new ground has fallen through he’ll disappear into the Jordanian Sunset over Stamford Bridge and never been seen again!

When I moved to London I went to Dulwich Hamlet games despite living closer to Fulham, Chelsea, and even Wimbledon. Dulwich are vastly inferior to those teams and their ground is barely better than the Mem (although there aren't any tents).

Why did I go? It was £8 and you could drink whilst watching the game.

Would I ever have said Dulwich were a bigger club than the ones mentioned above? Absolutely not.

A friend of my mine got a job move from Trowbridge to London... he bought a flat in Dulwich with his wife and now considers  them his local team, goes to most home games. I’ve been up for a couple of Dulwich games myself and it’s a really enjoyable day out ... especially as you can stand behind the goal with a pint in hand !!
