  1. The difference is they reinvest their transfer income in the team while ours is sat in a nest egg.
  2. Ridiculous decision, looked like the guy just dived
  3. I remember my Dad telling me that in a game at Ashton Gate in the 1950s some player jumped over the fence at Crackers Corner to sort out a guy who'd been giving him abuse all game. Not sure who it was but that's one way players used to deal with it back then.
  4. I don’t really understand what you mean by this. All fans forums look back at the past, we aren’t any different. We are looking at another season of mid table mediocrity so it’s only natural to look back to happier times.
  5. I don’t really understand why Sunderland didn’t play him from the start, which may have been why their finishing was poor. Obviously I’m glad that they didn’t.
  6. QoS has been crap for years but Paddy McGuinness took it to a new nadir. Thank god it's been put out of its misery.
  7. Terrible touch from Cornick so he decides to go down
  8. Sunderland pretty impressive going forward but I guess that leaves them a bit light in defence occasionally which probably explains their recent away form.
  9. It’s hard to remember that long ago but I remember Steve Heighway being a different class and tearing our defence to shreds at Ashton Gate.
  10. Surely that rule is a hangover from the days before transfer windows? Seems harsh to penalise any club for that these days. About time they got rid of it, I reckon.
  11. What a week it’s been. Lansdown and Bristol Sport have hardly covered themselves in glory by coming up with feeble excuses for the sacking and then sending a stream of drones onto OTIB to rubbish Pearson using tactics that Putin would be proud of. Obviously I hope Manning succeeds but forgive me for being cynical after seeing their previous attempts at appointing young unknown talents.
  12. I think we should be the first club to appoint an AI manager. We'd just feed the data in of the player's performances in the last match and in training and also the opposition data and the computer would print out the team and the tactics for the next match. Or is that just the same as having @Davefevs as manager?
  13. It’s a great article and really shows how ludicrous that Jon Lansdown Luton quote is. Is he really going to be telling someone like Gary Rowett “Here is the squad. We expect you to get us into a play off spot with it” because if he does, Rowett will just walk away.
  14. He pretends to be different but Lansdown is just another Millionaire owner who doesn’t care what the fans who pay the money to keep the club alive think. He’s just a selfish egomaniac just like nearly all self made men. The sooner he leaves this club and sells up the better. As for his feckless son, just another spoilt rich kid who treats everyone and everything as his plaything to be tossed aside when he loses interest.
  15. The Hull player threw himself at the ball to try and stop the shot so it was hardly an accidental deflection. I reckon the goal should have stood.
  16. We can then call in the bailiffs and get them to repossess Scott.

    Playoffs

Another great decision by our owner.

    Playoffs

I’m pleased for Mark Robins. It’s been a long journey for him scrabbling around the lower divisions. Wasn’t he interviewed for the City job some years back?
  19. He certainly had star quality in the playoff final in 2020 when he scored both Fulham’s goals to get them promoted. He was almost Bale like that day.
  20. Job for Cotts? https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/football/next-cardiff-city-manager-shock-bristol-city-favourite-in-frame-for-rival-job-4144500
  21. See Luke Jephcott has been released. It was only a year or so back that he was being touted as the next big thing.
  22. Tim ‘Tactics’ Sherwood. I couldn’t have put up with seeing that Gilet every week.
  23. I thought Ray Atteveld was going to be a great signing. Then he came on as sub in his first game away at Millwall and lobbed Walshie for an own goal. Things didn’t get much better after that.
