  1. Asked a simple question, what price is he for the bradford job. You were happy to shout the odds on his other interview. Hmmm He would be sacked in 6 months, at best, just like sunderland. Bet against that one!
  2. Yes. silv, judge the faves in this market. They always get the job.... Lj was fave for the bradford job last week.... Thats more his level. Whats the price on him there now silv,?
  3. Emission, ask gary j, about honeymoon periods at the posh. They dont last long. The chairman likes tried and trusted there.
  4. Thats great to know emission, Take a look who runs the show at that joint. Holden would suit them more.
  5. Dean holden, could be worth a bet. He was captain there, if im not mistaken. Bet they would rather take him than lj.
  6. With sheffields traditions, you would think most old style floodlights came out of there.! i
  7. Mark coombe played for us once. Was a cup game, aylesbury at home, i think?
  8. What impresses me about him, is how he puts defenders on their ass, with great ease. Hes got that down to a fine art. Since hes come back, been the best in the leauge. Hes obviously put a lot of hard work in, full credit to him.
  9. Yes that tinnion goal at stoke was special. One of his most important gets forgotton. And his most lucky. The free kick against wallsall, squirmed in under the keeper. Think it was a week or 2 before the preston game?
  10. Bob taylors overhead kick vs birmingham. What a goal. Was in block b, singing cherrio cherrio to the brum fans. Can anyone here recall gerry harrisons goal? Im sure it was a long range beauty at the east end, again late on?
  11. Bruce loved playing up to the crowd when he was in goal for plymouth here. First goalie i saw catch the ball behind his back. He got some grief that day, but just laughed it off.
  12. To win things, you cant take chances on goalies dropping the ball, in the last few minutes. Alex ferguson knew this, replaced jim leighton, with les sealey, and won the cup. Probaly one of his biggest ever calls.
  13. Yes was some top goalies about then. Southall for the welsh, Shilts for us. Pat j for the irish. Trying to think of a scottish, one, but that could take god nos how long.
  14. Used to love watching bruce g. He sure pushed his luck taking on outfield players. Came on top a few times i recall. Him and neville southall, hard as nails.
  15. The guy who used to coach us in the 80s, was on chelseas books, in the 80s. He was a goalie, and he bluntly said sometimes as a goalkeeper, you need to come with some violence. Very true.
  16. One club in the south of london, used to get youngsters, to stop the oppositions best player, Then ask him for a autograph. Then loads of monsters surge down the terraces, and give him the millwall welcome. Maybe we could do something along those lines?
  17. Sad news. Recall going to oxford in the ldv, or whatever it was then, in joes 2nd spell. He was by far the best player on the pitch. Think we may have been 3 down early, and he was behind most of their moves.
  18. Would have been, the old city dart buses, then! Went to wembley that year in one! The depot on winterstoke road hired them out.
  19. Food and weather. Who else springs to mind bar mike fish! Nothing to worry about he said. By dinnertime we were dodging roof tiles. I dont think weather was his forte.
  20. Opposite the robins pub,was a great butchers for many years, Used to sale, allsorts, used to go there from school, to get giant rolls. Was next to brandon tool hire, or 1 along.
  21. I liked chitterlings as a kid. Then i watched a zombies dawn of the dead. That put me right off them.
  22. Can remeber going from the butchers with my mum, and there was a great bakers on chessel street. Used to be on the next corner from the newsagent.
  23. If it was the same butcher, im thinking on north street, his son played rugby for bristol. He had a shop up filwood too. Hiltons,
  24. Same as me above, didnt go to northampton for that night game though. That melee, certainly turned our season around, I am right in thinking that game was live on tv?
  25. Was a great quiz question. The only person to play with bobby moore and win the prem. A very aptly named player for today, tony gale, was there the same team as pearce.
