  1. Lampard no.2 is Jodie Morris. Wonder how he got on with the Lansdowns when he was here.
  2. @Davefevs is Williams' style consistent with the 'front foot, pressing' stuff that Tinnion is coming out with? It sounds more like possession-based Swansea-style football.
  3. I'd be lumping on Williams if a bookie offered some odds. Would explain why they clearly aren't ready to announce as would take compo and negotiations. But he'd almost certainly want the move so it would happen if we make the approach.
  4. Leave him in place to take training, then sack him when the new man is appointed. If he resigns, no payout, so he stays waiting to be sacked. Is my guess.
  5. No byline, which is interesting. Reads like James Piercy.
  6. Presumably they sacked JE but didn't sack CF so they had someone to take the team. Understandably, CF wouldn't walk because he'd want a payout.
  7. We literally did what Ipswich are doing in 2007. We almost made it.
  8. I'm 39. I've seen us play far too many seasons in League 1 to get too upset about us being reliably mid-table in the Championship.
  9. Not really defending the Lansdowns here, but I imagine the 'previously' in relation to Andy King's selection refers to the time when he was being picked at centre half ahead of Rob Atkinson in the middle of a bad run of results. If you were the owner, you might reasonably have asked about that. Seems pretty obvious that it wasn't about King's selection yesterday.
  10. Glad this didn't happen... https://josimarfootball.com/2023/07/03/the-777-football-mystery/ [Sorry - just realised it's behind a paywall. Must have been above it when I read it previously]
  11. Feels like backwards steps after lots of recent successes. The Buxton & Bird pies are genuinely the best the club have ever sold but they sell out too quickly. The actually good coffee bar from last season (atyeo end of the lansdown concourse) has been replaced by donuts. Have the Bristol Beer Factory beers gone as well?
  12. That was basically my point! It was the other bloke who wanted fact checkers!
  13. You want them to employ fact checkers to double check the attendances of Championship football matches? As a license fee payer that would seem like poor use of resources to me.
  14. The coffee bar that I think sold Bristol Twenty coffee at the Atyeo end of the Lansdown was great. Went there every game for a coffee. Crap that it's gone.
  15. I really want to be nice about this because it's not easy at all. And it's great that there's something for people who like programmes to buy. But the quality isn't equivalent to other Championship clubs, as claimed. It's the sort of programme you get at non-league clubs. Nothing wrong with that, of course, just that the sales pitch on this thread got a bit carried away. Maybe try and attract some advertising to get the price down by a pound. I know this is easier said than done. Perhaps it would also make sense to use fans of other clubs (podcasters/bloggers/fanzine editors etc) to write really in-depth pieces on the opposition. The guy who writes the Loft for Words QPR site, for instance, is brilliant. There are also City fans producing really interesting stuff elsewhere (Dave Fevs' statistical analysis for instance) that could find a home here. I'm trying to be constructive because I want this to succeed, but as it stands I fear the only people who will pay £4 are programme collectors and confused away fans who don't realise it isn't official.
  16. Since this is a moaning thread, pretty shocking that they haven't swept or washed the stands since last season. Our row had loads of grime and bird shit on it. Is a power wash once every pre-season too much to ask?
  17. The odd thing about all this is that when Bristol Sport were making the kits in house, we actually had some really well designed ones that were made to high standards. I'm thinking of these two, in particular. Clearly, there's been an effort to cut costs or something.
  18. My 4 year old wants a new football shirt with his name and a number on the back. Given the poor quality, and the fact you don't appear to be able to get a name and number done without going into the shop, I think I'll just get him an England shirt.
  19. Because they're going back to print or because there won't be programmes at all?
  20. Do you think it's because they normally make rugby and GAA shirts and the players in those sports have massive necks?
  21. Fair enough. Looks like I'm wrong. Although section 3.2 of the same terms seems to contradict 10.3. I wonder if 10.3 was added at some point.
  22. Are people not aware that sharing season tickets is technically not allowed and never has been? Wouldn't surprise me if the club takes the opportunity to stop it happening. I can see why people would think this unfair, but from the club's POV there will be fans who might buy tickets but who don't because they regularly borrow season tickets instead.
  23. New AFC Wimbeldon shirt. Umbro were right there.
  24. Afc Wimbledon have just announced a deal with Umbro, including a commitment to bespoke kits. Weird that City didn't go for that option, especially as they already work with the rugby club.
  25. Another comparison would be Aaron Ramsey who got in the Cardiff team very young, very quickly became their best player, and then went to Arsenal.
