  1. I'd be lumping on Williams if a bookie offered some odds. Would explain why they clearly aren't ready to announce as would take compo and negotiations. But he'd almost certainly want the move so it would happen if we make the approach.

Still can’t understand why he wasn’t sacked 🤷‍♂️

Leave him in place to take training, then sack him when the new man is appointed.

If he resigns, no payout, so he stays waiting to be sacked.

    Is my guess.

Spot on. Absolutely cannot understand the mentality of those who view midtable Championship as success.

Nights like tonight, in which we see a team in League 1 last season beat us and sit in the top 2 of the Championship, should absolutely enrage our fanbase.

As a club, we really do lack ambition sometimes (certain portions of the fanbase included)

We literally did what Ipswich are doing in 2007. We almost made it.

We’re just so midtable it hurts. Win one, lose one, draw one. I’m 40. I swear I’m going to be on my deathbed age 90 with us sitting 14th in the Championship, while Torquay or someone have just qualified for the Champions League.

I'm 39. I've seen us play far too many seasons in League 1 to get too upset about us being reliably mid-table in the Championship.

  5. Not really defending the Lansdowns here, but I imagine the 'previously' in relation to Andy King's selection refers to the time when he was being picked at centre half ahead of Rob Atkinson in the middle of a bad run of results. If you were the owner, you might reasonably have asked about that.

Seems pretty obvious that it wasn't about King's selection yesterday.

  6. Feels like backwards steps after lots of recent successes. The Buxton & Bird pies are genuinely the best the club have ever sold but they sell out too quickly. The actually good coffee bar from last season (atyeo end of the lansdown concourse) has been replaced by donuts.

Have the Bristol Beer Factory beers gone as well?

A broadcast journalist or possibly a broadcast assistant - very likely a freelance - will be rushing his or her arses off to cover inputting such details into the multiple dozens of games held yesterday. With most matches finishing at the same time, the attendances will be cut and pasted from the PA match stats.  You haven't got a team of people looking at each match. One lowly employee will do it all. Based in Salford, I doubt they'd instantly recall City or many other teams' maximum capacity.

I can see how the mistake happened, as amusing as it is for us.

That was basically my point! It was the other bloke who wanted fact checkers!

The BBC. So reliable and trustworthy.

Where are their  (allegedly independent) "fact" checkers when they serve up misinformation ?

You want them to employ fact checkers to double check the attendances of Championship football matches? As a license fee payer that would seem like poor use of resources to me.

  9. I really want to be nice about this because it's not easy at all. And it's great that there's something for people who like programmes to buy.

But the quality isn't equivalent to other Championship clubs, as claimed. It's the sort of programme you get at non-league clubs. Nothing wrong with that, of course, just that the sales pitch on this thread got a bit carried away.

Maybe try and attract some advertising to get the price down by a pound. I know this is easier said than done.

Perhaps it would also make sense to use fans of other clubs (podcasters/bloggers/fanzine editors etc) to write really in-depth pieces on the opposition. The guy who writes the Loft for Words QPR site, for instance, is brilliant.

There are also City fans producing really interesting stuff elsewhere (Dave Fevs' statistical analysis for instance) that could find a home here.

I'm trying to be constructive because I want this to succeed, but as it stands I fear the only people who will pay £4 are programme collectors and confused away fans who don't realise it isn't official.

The terms and conditions appear to say otherwise.

"10.3 If a Season Ticket Holder cannot attend a match but know of a Guest who can attend in their place they are able to do so provided the Guest is of the same Price Category for example, an Under-22 Season Ticket holder can give their card to another under-22 to use for a game but not to someone that is older."

Fair enough. Looks like I'm wrong. Although section 3.2 of the same terms seems to contradict 10.3. I wonder if 10.3 was added at some point.

  11. Are people not aware that sharing season tickets is technically not allowed and never has been? Wouldn't surprise me if the club takes the opportunity to stop it happening.

I can see why people would think this unfair, but from the club's POV there will be fans who might buy tickets but who don't because they regularly borrow season tickets instead.
