Actually it is. The whole foundation of this argument is centred on the 'we want our country back brigade' and backed by the tabloids, as shown by the lack of caring for past examples of changes to the flag (ukip should be the most considered). If everyone in the country - including the royal family, prime minister and patron saint of the country have roots outside the uk it does undermine how 'english' those you know doubt idealise are, and how 'english' every aspect of the countries history is. So why feel obligated to put so much energy into defending this history for the sake of 'wanting your country back'? stop crying, you snowflakes  there are more important things to address.

I'd imagine that's a joke, but I'd say you're probably right. I think the seduction of him being a 'man city trained ' young, fresh faced english coach was easily more significant a factor than any of his accomplishments when the club selected him as manager. He has the illusion of a young manager with potential in the game - but in reality his best achievement was a good 3-4 months with Oxford. Should never have got the job.

I'm in absolute shock at the criticism of Mehmeti, I think he's developing into a standout player in the squad. When he plays well we tend to play well, cast your mind back to Watford away and Hull, back to back games where he was the best player on the pitch. Inconsistent at times, yes, but we musn't forget he's a young player who's been here only a season and been in professional football for only 3 years. If we let him go I would bet my life savings on it biting us even more than with a Szmodics.

Bell has never particuarly impressed me, feel he may be a league 1 player, but worth keep hold of to let him develop for another season, especially as he's only recently signed a new deal.

Selling players in this way hasn't benefitted us before - why would it now?

One of the most interesting aspects to Scott as a player was his openness about how regaining confidence in non-league football with Guernsey was something he felt to be better for his career than if he would've played things out in the Bournemouth academy system. I admit to  having watched Acey only once or twice, but if the general view is he is stagnating in our youth sides, why not loan him back to a lower level to regain some confidence. Having years in the non-league game as opposed to the academy regime has proven fruitful for so many. Mehmeti is a good example within our squad, and Ollie Watkins may be another, with his spell at WSM. I'm not experienced in the field myself, but if I were Tinnion I would consider shaking things up with Acey - and any other struggling academy boys. Einstein's definition of insanity comes to mind for players like him, a change of scene may be all he needs to grow as a player. Though, admittedly, Tinnion and Einstein may not always be on the same wavelength, it would be nice for some outside the box thinking in the setup.

Concerned we may have missed the boat with this one.

I think if you're a passionate supporter of your football club who has genuine interest into the off-pitch actions as opposed to someone who's only contribution to discourse on here has so far been to have a go at genuine fans and wildly defend the actions of the board then you'd care a hell of a lot if there was suspicion of members of the club hierarchy are employing spin doctor esque tactics on the fans forum. Fully agree. Don't understand what sort of kicks people are getting out of spreading misinformation by claiming to be 'ITK' but its making navigating the actual situation pretty ******* hard. It's very easy for people to say that they won't go to BS3 when they already don't go to BS3. Why would someone who has genuinely given up supporting City spend their time on OTIB ? 

As for the alleged "season ticket holders"  also so say refusing to continue their support - strange no one is selling their cards  on here. For the right price, they'll be takers. 

 

I very much disagree with you in your defence of Tinnion and Lansdown, but the state of the reaction is pretty astonishing. The board have made what I feel to be a really poor and misguided decision, for all the wrong reasons. I'm irritated and wholehartedly disagree with Pearson's dismissal. But we aren't Reading. We aren't Wednesday or Scunny or god forbid Bury. All decisions made (I'm sure) are made with the ambition to improve the direction of the club. 

The anger at them is due to a really ignorant decision made by the board, but the club is financially solid and there are games to go to. We have no reason to riot and protest. Fans can voice their disgruntlement with the decision, but Lansdown and co haven't committed genocide, they've made a bad decision. They may not be the right fit to run the club to its maximum efficiency, but they would never intentionally damage the performance of City.

We have a right to be angry, but also need sense.

Here’s some context. He spent more than Pearson has. 
 

Last season, supposedly under some sort of embargo, he was able to sign 2 youngsters from Prem clubs for around £2m, 2 experienced prem players on frees and then add a further 6 prem loans - and they don’t come cheap! 
 

This summer, he’s been allowed to spend around £5m or so on 4 players from Prem clubs plus signings from Germany and Belgium. He also added Bielek from Derby on a free and then further supplemented with 4 more loans (again, they don’t come cheap). 
 

So, he’s spent more than Nige was given over the last 2 summers and also made 11 loan signings (we are apparently against these!) and also a couple of good pickups from Europe (again we don’t like to do this any more). 
 

So, given that we don’t have any budget, and if we did, we don’t tend to sign loans, don’t tend to dip into the European market and also don’t tend to look at Prem youngsters since our Chelsea experiences of a few season past, I wonder what his remit is going to be? 
 

In summary, Eustace finished below us last season and was only a couple of points better off this season, having spent more money and relied on a shed full of loanees. 
 

Whilst we are saying we are recruiting to a certain style, and the boss must fit this, his 15 months in management seem to suggest he’ll be after something completely different to what we’re saying we’ll give him. 

Really liked the fact Pearson was against loans so this discourages me a bit. The fact Pearson didn't want temporary deals (without options to buy) feeds in to the exact idea of implementing a style of player and recruiting to build a future system which is all the shite Tinnion just said in his interview. Massive contradiction if they bring in Eustace and let him have his way with loan signings.

Lansdown has made a mess of running the club the last 5 years or so, and the decisions this seasons are the epitomy of his lack of judgement, but though he may be less and less committed his heart is in a relatively good place (as far as I see it) as an owner. I think we shouldn't compare our struggles to those of Wednesday/Reading.

Hard to have an identity when you can't name a full bench. Such an overused term in the modern game, to me identity is only applicable to sides that have had an opportunity to sign and field selected players - Pearson had no consistency to do this.

A midfield three of Bellingham, Archie Gray and Scotty would be some testament to the gems in the EFL 

We've missed him so sorely in the last 2-3 games especially. An adequate replacement could've solved a lot of the problems we're now aware of.

While I don't want a manager with no experience of managing high-level football. The levels of success are more important to me than the experience in the division. Much rather we went for someone from obscuirty with outstanding success as their credentials as opposed to a Lampard, who's failed everywhere he's gone but got two premier league gigs.

I can very easily imagine a situation where a manager who's been succesful elsewhere really struggles here, Pearson will leave some decent size shoes to fill and any backwards steps will be hounded on by the fans. The disjointed nature of the club right now makes it pretty daunting so any notable performace improvements on the pitch shouldn't be taken lightly.

Never been a huge fan myself, even when he's had heaps of praise for bringing in Alex Scott and others. The Scott situation seems to have been a fairly simple one with the Guernsey owner/manager giving us the heads-up of how good he could be, and then him scoring a hattrick on trial. Hardly a superb bit of talent identification by Tinnion in my eyes. His visible input in the club seems to be pretty basic in my eyes, not terrible but not inspiring and deserving of plaudits.

I just feel a football club needs a balance of football people and business people. We have both groups but the roles of our top people seem to be blurred into ineffectiveness. A proper methodical co-ordination of the business at the top is essential going forward if we want any shot of the 'premier league dream'. Tinnion is a football person and can't be caught up in managerial decisions.

Decision making is just below par from the whole squad, some of that you can attribute to youth, some of it to individual quality. The last 3 games we'd kill to have Alex Scott back.
