But if Rashawn Slater is there at 11 then I think you take him. He’s the one tackle that kept Chase Young quiet in college.

That’s one of big talking points, they’d be drafting him as a guard, at least initially.

Drafted Matt Peart in third (?) round last year, seem keen to give him every chance to make RT his own. Thomas at LT (no 4 overall last year). C and G are positions they’ll primarily target, C and move Gates, who is new to position, makes sense.

Im not sure they could pass on Slater, Vera-Tucker is another to keep an eye on, especially if they trade back, but both would come in at guard.

Love draft season, have been messing around with PFN draft simulator long before City last won a game..

Giants have a decent recieving roster especially with Kenny G from Detroit. I don't know enough about NYG to make a suggestion but I think making sure Jones doesn't fumble the ball twice a week is a start ?

I like Jones, it’s a huge year for him but I’m hopeful. He’s had an awful offensive line, a lack of targets, those he has (*cough* Engram *cough*) have been at fault for interceptions, losing Barkley in Week 2 last year was a hammer blow. As you say, fumbles/turnovers, but I think we’ve seen enough to know there’s a good QB in there. No 6 overall, maybe not, but that isn’t his fault. The Giants offense was abysmal last year, you won’t find much love for Jason Garrett as OC. But they’re doing they’re best for him. If the line can form some sort of cohesive unit (I wouldn’t be at all surprised if two of their six picks are o-line) then Giants should win NFC East.

There is a scenario where all 3 of the top WR’s are off the board by the time it reaches 11 for the Giants. Bengals, Dolphins, Lions could potentially all go WR.
Unlikely, but could. If any are there for you at 11 I’d think it’d be Waddle.

Waddle seems preference over Smith as a rule. Smith apparently weighed in at 166 recently which could put teams off, though even if he fell past Giants at 11 think Eagles would grab at 12.

If all three WR’s are gone by 11, plus 4 QB’s, Pitts and Sewell, think Giants would be pretty comfortable choosing between Slater/Horn/Surtain II. CB wouldn’t sit well with plenty of fans (signed Adoree Jackson in free agency to play opposite Bradberry, Darnay Holmes had decent rookie year) but could see them happily taking a CB if he’s best on their board. I’d prefer a trade down in that scenario but that’s something Gettleman has never done so seems unlikely, for all his protestations that that’s just circumstance.

  4. Giants have everything crossed that as many QB’s go as possible top 10.

Four, maybe five, plus Pitts, Sewell, Chase, Slater and one of Horn/Surtain II should leave them with at least one of the Alabama WR’s to choose from in Smith/Waddle.

Personally I’m open to trade back and take any of Paye/Ojulari/Vera-Tucker late teens/early twenties but will be hard to resist Smith/Waddle/Slater at 11, and one of them will almost certainly be there.
