  1. Looking at their record no wins in 11 premier league games (5D 6L), however 9/11 of the games were against top 8 clubs and the other 2 were away against Chelsea (10th) and Villa (11th). And they're playing Arsenal this weekend too so very bizarre run of fixtures. Unless some stuff happening internally then I think its a little harsh.
  2. Think I was one of those who criticised the euros going up to 24 teams but to be honest I did end up enjoying lots of the last tournament. Looking back there were some really good games in the last 16 so in theory a last 32 with the rest of the world included should be similar quality. It definitely makes the qualifying process less exciting for a club like England though. One thing I think is a negative is that it makes it harder for nations to host tournaments by themselves because of the increased number of games, but I would rather that than 3 team groups which I think would have been a disaster. From the point of view of the people who matter at fifa I suppose the 2 options were to either keep the gravy train running by expanding the tournament or to continue picking host nations who give the best backhanders, and after the political pressure from the previous bids they decided to expand the tournament. ?
  3. I have my doubts that Wigan brought at least 320 to Ashton Gate the other week and same with Preston I don't think they brought anything close to 464 earlier in season (although that one was rearranged).
  4. Definitely has a very likeable personality, he makes me laugh here anyway. Interesting negotiation strategy from his camp and if they succeed in getting the fight on shorter notice it is probably their best chance of levelling the playing field. The smart thing is for Fury to delay but it's now going to cost him some support as people turn on him a little, guessing Usyk will play on that if the fight is at a later date but his preference will be for the April date and hope to catch Fury not at his sharpest.
  5. If I am being positive I like the colours chosen, for me green is much better than the navy blue that previous shirts have had. Also liking the washed out yellow look, not quite Norwich in disguise anymore and has been used before in history. However like everyone else has mentioned the badge. ? Don't want to automatically blame JL but if it was him then it comes across that he either doesn't ask anyone for feedback or is surrounded by yes men. In my view that Robin logo was unnecessary on previous kits so disappointed it features on the front this time around, for me the logo doesn't look good and makes shirt worse not better overall. Other than that it's a decent shirt.
  6. I would be feeling a bit hard done by if I was Weimann at the moment not getting a look in at CF (when Wells is rested), but I guess the rules are clear from NP that you have to perform when called upon and even though Bell has been quiet last few games he has still more recently done that. Anyway I don't really mind who performs so long as a good result today.
  7. My issue was you said 'any time in their history' whilst also complaining about them lacking nuance and 'being wrong'. There is no love towards Man City from me, nobody wants a situation where clubs come to Ashton Gate win 3-0 and get a pat on the back for doing so. But now the dust has settled I have no issues calling it how I see it.
  8. I went to one of their home games earlier in the season and the atmosphere wasn't good (was also funny to me listening to them complaining about being rubbish at certain moments even though they ended up winning comfortably). Like most clubs I think they are much better away from home apart from maybe a few games a season, I was impressed with the noise their away fans made the other night, at least being 'Abu Dhabi FC' hasn't spoiled them in that way. Agree with you about not acting morally superior about something you can't help, I have always thought the perspective of ffp cheats on this forum would be much different if we didn't have the benefit of SL's money for so long, incredibly easy in our position to get righteous but it would change quickly in a different situation I think.
  9. To be fair to them Man City held the english record home attendance for 82 years which was over 84,000 for a game in 1934. If we are looking to be nuanced then the last part of your comment doesn't ring true either.
  10. Sit back in certain moments then hit them on the counter, worked quite well against Norwich the other week. ? Really excited for the build up now (and of course my scarf ), the players deserve a big occasion like this for going unbeaten for so long, hope they enjoy the occasion playing against some of the worlds best (even if they are chasing shadows for lots of the game).
  11. Hoping they stay unbeaten tomorrow or the new kit will be blamed. In principle I don't really like pinstripes but think they have done quite a good job on the design, I think it looks better than the Bristol Sport one a few years back. Liking the sound of a yellow and green away kit too. Personally I think it's better to have a smaller brand where you have more freedom on the designs, makes sense for JL too if it's true he likes quite a bit of input on designs, and I guess if we are one of O'Neills biggest customers then in theory we should get a bit more respect than what was given by Hummel. Interesting how we have gone this way mid season and Coventry have signed up for longer with Hummel, things seem more laid back at that club might explain Kasey Palmer seems to be settling ok up there.
  12. Last minute Steve Brooker winner, top of the championship with 5 games to go, shame we haven't been that close since.
  13. Think it was the forest game last season when he looked like a fantastic find from the lower leagues, thought we had something special then and very surprised to see he soon get hooked in 1st half and then drop off the radar for like a year. Not massively surprised that now it's 442 again that he hasn't taken long to get his place back and long may it continue. Great performance although maybe I would give motm to Pring today but only just, the attack versus west brom was superb but also credit to the club for getting a defence from the lower leagues and the academy playing as well as they did today.
  14. It's unreasonable to assume that all people's phones chargers/charging ports work correctly at all time on matchday and then put on their website that they aren't offering an alternative if things go wrong (whether exaggerated or not). Hypothetically if I lost my bcfc match ticket that I bought online would I not be able to go to the ticket office and give them a few details about myself and possibly get my ticket reprinted anyway?
  15. I have used digital tickets before at a couple of grounds where I went as a neutral but saying people whose phones run out of battery can't attend is completely unreasonable I think. Needs to be alternatives as already stated.
  16. If he turned it into a migrant hotel I think it would be an interesting representation of modern Britain and would get people watching, might be a good idea to help his financial problems.
  17. You will not be able to gain entry if your phone is not charged. On match day, please ensure that your mobile phone is fully charged. https://www.leedsunited.com/tickets/mobile-tickets#/qq Poor move from Leeds, hope they overturn this otherwise would be nice to see them relegated.
  18. Shushing the crowd what a party pooper ? Now Wrexham know how we felt after Sheff U very fortunate win at AG earlier in the season. Quite like Wrexham and Ryan Reynolds but it does bug me a little how a 150 year old club gets bought by a celeb and now it's all about him every 5 seconds. Hope their rise up the leagues doesn't come too easily.
  19. Would like a struggling prem team at home. Leicester, West Ham, Leeds, Southampton would all be good ties. However expecting to get Blackburn/Birmingham or something equally underwhelming.
  20. Although there was some great team performances at beginning of season I would say ultimately he was costing us too many goals in defence, at one time he was a disaster waiting to happen. Yesterday everyone was fantastic but it was extra sweet seeing the midfield do so well after the shambolic 2nd half against WBA on boxing day when the midfield were completely outperformed. Hoping Naismith stays fit now and we get more of the same.
  21. Much deserved win for Djokovic ??? I'm sure it's extra special for him after last year and also its very pleasing to see the Aussies much closer to normality these days too, not before time.
  22. Was randomly watching an interview with him a few weeks ago looking forward to the new season working on the coaching staff at Yeovil. He came across very down to earth, talked about what he is good at and not so good at from what I remember he mentioned his time at BCFC not going great but then he went to Yeovil and did well, probably getting legend status for his part in their 5-2 play off win against Forest. Very unfortunate his plans now may be limited/need to change due to this.
  23. Baba Yaga

    2003-04

Remember on the day of the Brighton final game feeling confident that we were going to get promoted, whoops. ? Also felt confident after the QPR and Plymouth wins, and after the 11 game winning run. Was shocked to see such a terrible game and then getting beat with a late penalty. A season with some massive games and great moments but a brutal ending.
  24. Looking forward to the game on the weekend, adds a bit extra to the occasion in the sense that it will still be on everyone's mind and should be interesting being in a crowd with people still processing it/some tributes or whatever, obviously games to be called off when it's the funeral but 2 weeks in a row (3 if you include the break) is too much for me. I watched a little TV earlier but for me personally mine will be off for weeks now, football on Saturday please. ?
  25. Don't really like the red circle saying Bristol City, have always thought it would look a lot better with just the middle bit but I suspect it's there to make kits easier/cheaper to make.
