    So, Jacob.

Question I've been meaning to ask for a while....

What does the J in @jbcfc stand for? Is it Jordan, after the time under Joe, or maybe Jacki, or could it be former keeper James?

Jacob. Put me out of this flux of curiosity.

    hi rob,

joe and jacki would be great reasons. although i don’t know much about our time under joe jordan. james… not so much.

it’s just a short form of my name - sorry to disappoint!

Original video was deleted but someone has the clip saved

my account - noticed they’d deleted and immediately grabbed the clip while i still could. i love it - shows a mentality that doesn’t get caught up on short term success and the importance of the long term goal.

first time winning 3 in a row in over 3 years gives us the right to get carried away, but we need the players and staff to keep going game by game.

huge january coming up. let’s have a real go at it - it’s been a while. 😄

  3. i was denied entry on saturday - no queue so i decided to bypass the barrier to get to the turnstile a little faster as it was nearing kick off. whilst i will admit that this was not a great decision, i was apprehended by a steward and had my ticket confiscated - this was then backed up by two met police officers who were explaining that they have to abide by the steward’s decision, whilst that steward is stood behind them, with his balaclava on, looking at me and laughing with the other stewards. i was willing to accept my mistake and would’ve been fully compliant with a search or whatever they wanted to do. i never acted aggressively towards any of the stewards or the police. it just felt like the steward(s) were out to ruin my day.

As an Oxford fan, I hope he gets you relegated and he ends up sacked.
Manning has shown he’s got no loyalty. He was doing nothing prior to his appointment, the Oxford board took him on and backed him to the hilt in the close season, now he’s shown that a sniff at the Championship and he’s off, leaving Oxford in the shit.  13 games where he managed to keep us up, just, then got us to 2nd in League One in what is a poor division.

If he’d left at the end of the season, fair enough, but to do it a third of the way through is galling.

    Hope QPR beat you Saturday.

    regards

“a poor division” like it isn’t your level.

save your tears for when we take brannagan in january.

Reading here seems quite a good chance that FL will be the new 'Head coach' or 'Manager'...  especially from the poster few pages back who really seems ITK re the friend of FL😀

sorry to do this but does anyone know when this was posted so i can find it please?

    edit: got it :)

  6. personally think that this would be a great opportunity for him. lower expectations than his previous jobs - if he gets us in the top half it would be our best finish in a while. people speak of his ‘super team’ at derby - it wasn’t really, it was just a selection of decent loans.

the main question will be whether the money from alex scott was being held back from nige and will be given to the new gaffer. pearson had pull, but lampard will have even more. players will want to play for him. up to the board if they want to give him the funds.

it could all go terribly wrong, but **** it. frank lampard at the gate, who would’ve ever thought that, eh? let’s just enjoy what we can.

  8. so, our ‘technical director’ goes on air this morning to voice our desire to play a certain style of football, just for the club to hire someone who plays more or less the same brand of football. they really must think we’re stupid to believe it was a footballing decision.

is eustace all he’s made out to be? i hope so, and i’ll be getting behind the bloke. i’m not convinced, but if he’s in charge by saturday, let’s make it as good of an environment for him as possible during the 90 mins. i’m still fully behind displays and/or chants against the lansdowns before, after and even during the game, because they are quite simply incompetent and in my 20+ years supporting city, i’ve never had faith in them to do the right thing.

  9. absolutely all in on a protest. steve reportedly wants to sell the club, so why is that drip jon making a decision like this and potentially diminishing its value?? seriously worried about the future now, especially with so many injuries.

i don’t remember seeing a decision this baffling and wholeheartedly opposed since… well a few weeks ago when birmingham sacked eustace but i thought even this pair of muppets were smarter than that!

they’ve let personal issues cloud their judgment yet again, and it’s about time we demand better. how long are we going to accept mediocrity and such a lack of ambition, whilst the owners bang on about actually having any.

It's a valid question, capitalise when the going is good or not.

In 2007-08 we did not. At other times we have spent freely and possibly without an overarching strategy.

2017-18 also - playing well but a thin squad and awful form in january. we reacted by signing a goalless striker and an unproven winger.

I think we're probably watching the situation but after Ipswich getting involved and Stoke joining the chase I wonder if we're potentially talking to other players. Also with Scott not yet getting a bid on him that matches valuation we may not need a midfielder in Pearson eyes, at least not one playing in the same situation. I guess it depends on Benarous, whether Mehmeti going to be given a chance in the middle, if Weimann is going to go back into that role behind the strikers etc. I'm not sure what Pearson has planned but he's obviously happy with the current squad as he's already made 3 good additions and hasn't yet lost anyone he didn't expect to.

nige has been quoted as saying we will sign midfielders ‘to play with’ scott, not replace him, so that indicates that we’ll be looking to bring at least one in before the end of the window

Think Jason Knight currently, seems like a more defensive version of Andi. Not necessarily one of the best in the league at any one thing (semenyo -pace&power, scotty beating a man/chance creation) but very good all around. As the stats shown by @Davefevs suggest.

Can understand why people at first might turn their noses up, might not be the flashiest or the most intriguing player to watch, but not every player can be.

Seems very adept in the press, composed, passes well and good tackling. Imo all of what I want from a central midfielder.

Seems that some forget he’s also only 21 as well, if we do end up spending 2m or around there on him, it’s clear that he’s favoured by Pearson because he has a plan for him. Might see him as a Korey smith type, hassles opponents and doesn’t give them space. Or a Josh Brownhill, deep chance creation etc.

A Pearson transfer hasn’t let me down yet, except Wilson (injuries most likely ruined his city career), so I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt on this one.

think he could be the brownhill replacement we never truly got. williams could’ve been that, and i like him, but ultimately he’s not quite the same runner and injuries have let him down.

The yellow kit (ignoring the badge) is actually really nice. HATE the home kit as it looks cheap/fake so praying they hit us with a decent away one. Personally think it’ll be the same as the home but black with white stripes.

Hoping O’Neills provide something better next season, can give them a bit of slack for this seasons as it would of all been quite short notice. So fingers crossed they are saving the away kit reveal for either that big 15 million pound signing we’ll make or Alex Scott signing a new deal telling us he’s not going anywhere DiCaprio style.

agreed. i wasn’t sold at first but that kit is actually lovely, just hope they colour code the socks properly next season. the nice yellow of the shirt was ruined by the bright yellow socks.

also, i must be the only one who actually quite likes the alternate badge…
