  1. Sorry, am I completely out of the loop? When did football stop being about scoring goals or at least being a threat to the oppositions goal? How can we be “progressive” or “going in the right direction” if we are rarely doing the one thing that defines how the points are won? We look so toothless its untrue.
  2. Thanks, dreamy. Great days. Will spend most of the evening now trying to pick out me, my Dad, and my Grandad jumping about by freezing every frame!!
  3. I was in the East End, to the right of the goal by about 10 feet (our normal spot) and remember the cushioned volley Ralph Milne scored (pretty sure on debut) like it was yesterday. Could see straight down the line of it into the top corner. Was a hero to me as a boy from that moment on. Spent hours trying to replicate that. Sad story, but he bought a lot of joy on the pitch.
  4. Ian, not you @2015! It was a follow-up to your message!! Edited to avoid all doubt!
  5. Pretty spiteful, condescending and churlish from Ian. Very unpleasant but almost instinctive behaviour which is not a great look at all. Shame.
  6. Yeah I know, I meant as a spectacle to watch, bearing in mind the opposition play week in week out with it.
  7. I am almost 100% certain that if the 4th official would have held up 6 minutes instead of 4 then he would have woven this into his City-mentary. Just imagining Danny Gabbidon’s face trying to add any value to the subject of Max O’Leary’s school years.
  8. Lovely to see a bit of spite and gamesmanship from someone in our shirt for a change. An absolute menace. Done them like a kipper for the sending off and he does not stop chirping either. By the way, what a refreshing game without VAR. Added to it and loved the way the players went about it with freedom living on the edge. How it should be.
  9. An amazing display of non-stop verbalisation of Bristol City history. Used the entire 94 minutes to offer the nation an insight into our past, current and future in a documentary/infomercial-esque fashion. I think if you have made more then 20 appearances for us post-war, you got a mention, and if you didn’t then you would have done in extra-time. A one man crusade to educate the country in a whirlwind attempt to get them up to speed as we have gone through middle two division anonymity for 40 odd years. God Bless you JP, and C’mon you Reds.
  10. Without getting dragged into this again, the issue is not the quality that Tinnion identifies, but more about who they allow to then buy the identified talent. Who knows? The £2.5m (minimum) if spent in August could have had us top 4 currently.
  11. Adebola had an unreal chance to put us 1-0 up in the early minutes. Had a horrible feeling of what was about to come from that second onwards.
  12. I had a lovely pair of foldover tongue Hi-Tec as a kid, then went to Lotto for youth football and ended up in adult football almost exclusively wearing Adidas World Cups on soft ground and Copa Mundials on hard. I did have a season in some lovely Andrea’s mouldeds that were recommended but they seem hard to get now.
  13. Two points off the play-offs when he left could well be the definition of “brink” no?
  14. Unusually tall for a right back actually. Terrible in the air, but then, if you are having to head a football as a full-back, you are probably out of position or your centre-backs are not good enough. Thats what I always said anyway.
  15. We are both right then and Corberan is the loser here. And City really. Happy Sunday all!
  16. Alan Walsh for me. Terry Cooper moving him down personally, the goals, the left foot, the shuffle. No question.
  17. Brian Mitchell please and thank you.
  18. Anyone that says Sam Bell is better than Semenyo is out of work or will be shortly. Respect your opinion here but do not agree. Sam Bell excelled under Nigel Pearson and was one of many that peaked under him no matter their age.
  19. Not good enough for this level unfortunately and never was. Emperors Clothes with a lot of our young un’s and it worries me greatly.
  20. Basically as you were then apart from more ball and less conversion. So new players needed. Same as the difference Nige needed. Deja vu all over again.
  21. Gustav Engvall please and thanks. £2m.
  22. As an ex right-back I categorically deny this. I was excellent.
  23. Just saw the latest footage from his first day at the “HPC” and could not work out from body language if we was steely and taking it in stride, rabbit in headlights in demeanour, or trying to telepathically say “Hoggy. Wtf have we done mate?”
  24. Fair and my post was tongue in cheek. Set-pieces are pretty integral though no? Surely any incoming head coach would want his own fingerprint/coach all over them?
