Best place for him is to stay where he is and continue his development away from all the noise of recent events.
  2. To be fair to Tanner, he was often left with an impossible decision; push up in to the mass of space in front of him and leave a big gap in his area of responsibility, or play it safe and reserved. Either way, I was looking at Weimann and expecting him to provide more options out wide as opposed to tucking in.
  3. Have to say I agree. The very brief burst of intensity is largely drowned out by literal stand-still with the ball at feet, or at best sideways-backwards-sideways. As for those goal kicks shared between defenders and Max, we’d be better off cutting to the point and just hoofing it upfield to the opposition, it’s how it mainly ends up.
  4. The players showing their enthusiasm for the new direction...
  5. “The squad is boosted by the return of captain Josh Doig who missed the last camp through injury, and by the return of striker Tommy Conway. The Bristol City forward, who has also captained the Under-21s in the past, sat out the last two camps through injury.” https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/scotland-under-21s-aim-to-build-on-back-to-back-wins-as-squad-named-for-november-double-header/?rid=13925
  6. So, Nigel was a Manager, as stated on bcfc.co.uk - 22 Feb 2021 — Bristol City have appointed Nigel Pearson as manager. LM appointed as a Head Coach. “It’ll be exactly the same as Nigel Pearson,” Tinnion told Bristol Live. “Do you think we signed players for Bristol City that Nigel Pearson didn’t want? So why would we do it for Liam? Liam will be in the process, we’ll cut the shortlist when we want a certain player. "Once we had gone for ‘the head coach’ and not manager, you want really a young, up-and-coming, on-the-grass, develop the players, develop the style; so once we had narrowed it down to what we wanted, he was one that came out straight away, really high,” Tinnion added. " Can someone clarify for me, don't managers identify their targets and the club tries to get them? Are managers generally not as involved in transfers as they once were? Is the only difference between Manager and Head Coach about what goes on on the training pitch? Just curious over the wording.
  7. Didn’t he just. JL’s articulation matched his appearance. What I so wanted was a double camera view on JL and LM’s faces when JL attempted to answer the question about funds for signings in January!
  8. Will be interesting to see what other backroom changes cream in over the coming weeks and months, am guessing he will want more than just CH with him.
  9. Time to buy a promotion bus… Good luck, Liam.
  10. Arrogance? I'd not go that far. Snobbery, we all hold our club in the highest regard, so many will be minded to think their club is superior and want what they perceive as someone who matches their ambitions and necessary experience for the role. The club was heading in the right direction even if it was slow progress, but the primary cause for that was the circumstances of the journey (clearing out dead wood, lowering wage bill, blooding youngsters). As much as you emphasise words on a forum of "arrogance" and "snobbery", the person eventually tasked with the job will have the support, the people who put them there less so. I quite like seeing variety in debate and opinion, it's what makes the forum vibrant and insightful.
  11. Snobbery maybe, but I'd argue it's more frustration that we are in this predicament when we already had - what many perceive as - the right man in place in NP. We will have to get behind whoever it is, but it doesn't mean you have to like it or can't contrast/compare what we had with what we may have.
  12. They do love a “rigorous recruitment process”
  13. Probably following AW’s constant two-handed directives to slow the game down
  14. If BT has his way, Frank becomes FrankTINstein. In all seriousness, really not sure what we need now, the change felt unnecessary and a backward step. Little faith that whoever the board pick will suddenly change results and performances whilst operating in the restraints NP faced - but will happily be proven wrong and naturally back whoever it ends up being.
  15. Reckon we could get a collective and unanimous “sack the board” chant going, belted out from the home and alway ends? Stranger things have happened!
  16. Yep, seems we have a limited calibre in what we are looking for in a head coach… not sure he has the experience needed to ride the inevitable storms and dips in form. Then again, it feels as though whoever it is has been set up with their independence of thought and manoeuvre already limited from the get-go. Whoever it is, we will have to back, but it’s a sad state of affairs we are in this position.
  17. Got an Amazon campaign on the go too! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Glimin-Inflatable-Crayons-Decorations-Birthday/dp/B0CF9WV1TB
  18. Almost makes you think BT should be in the hot-seat, given his management and tactical wisdom. Oh, wait. Nothing against BT the rightful club legend [as a former player], but as a Technical Director, he's clearly a one-focus man - play the youth. Laughable that the footballing side is now being ran with glued-on rose-tinted glasses.
  19. Or maybe John Terry, him and SL can discuss private jets and golf…
