Needs to be fitter I reckon. Could do with dropping half a stone.

Isn’t Pat Mountain responsible for our set piece coaching? I’m sure I read that on here. Sorry if that’s wrong
No it’s Frank Spencer.

One of my favourite ever city players and scored my favourite ever goal in the away game at Palace. Hardly any backlift and unbelievable strike. Bet him a few times for first goal scorer and he also delivered for me.
Didn’t we sign him for £50k!? Bargain.- 1

Definitely a hit for me. Enjoy going to AG now and feel optimistic for the future. Feel more invested in the club again.
We were so so bad when he took over!

Those nuns cover more ground than Bakinson.

The numbers he’s posting are obscene. Another goal and assist today, 14 goal involvements in a season he missed the first 2 months of. Special talent. Semenyo, Scott, Massengo, Pring. Who saw these 4 coming?
Not to be negative but not sure I’d put Pring in quite the same category as those 3.

If someone like Critchley feels he can get Bakinson playing to his best then 500k is worth paying imo.
Still only 23. Probably a low wage at this level.
Time will tell I guess.

I thought he played well in some games. And that was to a style of play that doesn't suit him.
Now we are much stronger there with Massengo performing well, who hadn't been earlier in the season.
Scott now playing so well there. And Williams back fit. Just waiting for James and that's a top quality 4.
I think it was rumoured Blackpool and Hull missed out on the signing of Bakinson. So hopefully we get a bit of a fee for him with teams chasing him.
Blackpool bid over 500k for Brannagan of Oxford in January. So anything like that would be good business imo.
We’ll be very lucky to get that sort of money for him. Other teams know he has no future at AG and have a strong position on fee.

This season has been overwhelmingly positive for me.
I mean, roughly a year ago but just before Pearson was appointed we could barely leave our half.

Man of the match for me. Won everything in the air and some good composure on the ball.

Got booed by the Reading fans when he came on!

I didn't like or rate LJ as a player, at all, and yes that affected my opinion of him as a manager I'll admit it. I was in utter, utter disbelief when he was appointed and incredibly disappointed.
I did give him a chance once he was here though, and I think he did an OK job. Unremarkable really, like him as a player. The Man U win was the equivalent of his one "clever" dinked little chip at a free kick which worked, out of the 50 he chipped to nobody or into the wall.
However it was also extremely boring, and I genuinely felt my passion for City disappearing in his last year or two which really annoyed me. Combined with the nonsense with Ashton I was thoroughly sick of the pair of them, and extremely happy when he got the boot. I didn't think he had many likeable qualities, and even during some of the highs he somehow managed to say something stupid and make me facepalm a bit (didn't he buy Mourinho an expensive bottle of wine to talk tactics after the match or something ffs?!)
For that reason I checked out his results at Sunderland - he was doing a good job earlier in the season, but yeah there was definitely a smirk or a bit of a laugh when they got thumped.
Some people take it too far but it's all football pantomime for me. I don't hate the bloke, I'm sure he's a nice enough guy and he definitely gives it his all which is admirable, but I have found what's happened quite amusing... all part of the fun of the game for me. Some ex players I look out for and am happy they're doing well, some I'm happy when they screw it up.
Having those characters is part of what makes the game fun for me, and LJ will always be a big one for us now whatever you think of him...
My feelings towards LJ are similar to yours- pretty ambivalent really. Don’t like him that much but don’t dislike him that much either. Much more warmth towards Cotts who I would root for elsewhere.
As others have said, I always felt that LJ would have been better off focusing on the basics (man management, consistency in team selection etc) rather than messing around in Michelin star restaurants. Thankfully it feels like we now have a manager who talks with clarity and has a non-nonsense approach which I personally much prefer.

Would be a whole lot more frustrating if we were on the fringes of the play-offs or relegation zone. We’ll get there in the end. Hopefully we’ll stop conceding the late goals when it really counts.

He’s already played 14 times for Austria, the last time was in 2015 - but as you say, I’d get him back into their squad if I was the Austrian boss ...
I’d leave him out if I was Austria boss- just in case he gets injured!

The headline sums up the game perfectly. No need to read on really (although I did). Truly pathetic way to lose a match.
Utterly galling to hear the Luton manager say they were well below par. And yet they still won. We are so soft. Embarrassing really. Cardiff barely put a glove on us and scored twice. Ditto Luton. I turned to those with me at 1-1 and said ‘we all know what’s going to happen.’
Just as well Peterborough are as hopeless as us at defending.
No surprise that the Luton Manager said that. Such a missed opportunity and so frustrating (as Nige said post match).

Very generous to give a 5 for O’Leary- 3 at best for me. Can’t remember him making a save and at fault for both goals.
Wonder if Nathan Jones saw the Cardiff opening goal at the weekend with O’Leary rooted and employed it is a tactic to put crosses right into the six yard box knowing that he wouldn’t come.
Bentley back in goal for Saturday. Would put my mortgage on it.

Nakhi must have a chance conversion rate of about 1% this season

Thought Pack looked good - their best player. Looked leaner and trimmer to me than when he was at AG.
A friend of mine worked at Airhop and used to chat to him when he took his kids. Said he was a very nice bloke.
Would have him back on a free.

100% behind NP, think he is a breath of fresh air to the club and the person who can take us forward.
Bit surprised at the TB outburst, seems something recent happened and quite raw about it, but can't see anyway back for TB, which if he does perform really well at IT then could be a shame.
As one of the few who liked TB and believed he has the potential to be a top player if he can get other parts of his game together. But no player or individual is bigger than the club, so if he does not want to be here or does not buy into what NP expects of him, then time to jog on.
Trouble is that the main other parts of his game that he needed to get together were work-rate,attitude and desire. Not sure you learn that- it’s either ingrained or it’s not.

Bakinson is no big loss. Lacked desire and often looked lazy. Remember the game against Bournemouth when he came on. Strolled around despite the fact we were down to 10 men. Frustrating player- suited to league one.
Loved the press conference and the comparison with Alex Scott!
Palmer next hopefully.

Poor from Paterson. Knew the terms and signed. Probably plenty of players of similar ability without clubs. Swansea took a punt on him and are rewarded with a tantrum - all because he has done better than expected.
Nigel Pearson will be on Sounds of the City Monday 25th July
