Bristol City Women v Chelsea Women Conti Cup Final Register for Zoom watchalong! Email: citywomen@bristolcitysupporters.org
  2. Episode 18 of Bristol City Vixencast is out now! Back from the international break, D-M, Nat and I talk – a lot – about that game at Ashton Gate, in a bad night for the Royals (sounds familiar). We go into detail of an extraordinary footballing spectacle, in what is already being described as the best WSL game of the season. Under the floodlights on a feelgood International Women’s Day, Matt Beard’s Vixens showed us exactly what they are capable of. We relive a glorious team performance; those goals by Wellings, Purfield and Salmon; and celebrate no longer being bottom of the league, and talk about our brief encounter with ex-Bristol Academy & England goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain, who was doing commentary. We also report on all the latest City Women news and look forward to Sunday’s Conti-Cup final against Chelsea. Listen & follow subscribe here
  3. Following the success of the watchalong for the game against Bournemouth, Bristol City Supporters Club & Trust are joining forces with Bristol City Vixencast to host another watchalong for this Sunday's Conti Cup Final between Chelsea & Bristol City (not often you get any Bristol City team in a cup final!) The game is live on BT Sport, but contact is being made with the club to see if BT Sport can stream the game on YouTube as well, like they do for other cup finals they have rights to. Joining the watchalong will be guests of honour, and former Bristol City/Academy players Corinne Yorston & Grace McCatty. The watchalong will start a 2:00pm with KO being at 2:30pm. To register your interest, please email citywomen@bristolcitysupporters.org
  4. Anyway, what a result! We'll be recording & releasing the next episode of Bristol City Vixencast within the next couple of days. If you're following us on social media, let us know your thoughts on tonight!
  5. Same. But it seems to be a thing for a long time in women's football, especially back when they were Bristol Academy! And Siobhan Chamberlain used to play for Academy...
  6. 1-1 at half time. All to play for! I'm here in press box with Vixencast covering the game for out next episode. Feels weird being back at Ashton Gate, especially with the empty stands
  7. Whoever wrote that didn't realise the game is at Ashton Gate, not Twerton Park! ?
  8. With West Ham losing again today (11th on 8 points), if City win tomorrow night against Reading, they can finally get off the bottom of the table (currently on 6 points). Anyone got any thoughts on the game?
  9. Only started listening to the show last summer when I noticed Stanley on Robins TV! The particular style has been some of an influence on me, especially since I joined Bristol City Vixencast to cover City Women. I'd say OSIB & Robins At The Gate are the two City podcasts I listen to regularly (I've heard the others, but don't want to get too drowned in too many podcasts talking about the same thing!)
  10. If any City Women fans, or fans of the Women's Super League overall are interested, I'll be taking part in a live episode of On & Off The Pitch's live #WSLTAKEOUT TONIGHT from 6:00pm. Also joining host Rodney Cyrus will be Craig Hadley from the Brum is Blue Podcast, Allie Coker from the We Are The Girls in Claret & Blue podcast, and Emmma Shone from the MCW Fancast podcast. You can join in the live conversation on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=disRU2bMWPg
  11. So it seems City Women's next game against Reading on March 7th has not only moved to Ashton Gate, but pushed back to Monday March 8th for BT Sport coverage. They haven't had a game on that channel for nearly two years & have two in a week (the other being the Conti Cup Final). Bit annoying as I don't have BT Sport. Hopefully there'll be another way to watch the game (and hoping the final will at least be on BT Sport's YouTube)
  12. Crazy to think it was today one year ago, with City's win at Birmingham, which not only ensured WSL survival that season, but was the last game the team played in front of fans (including myself)!
  13. Forgot to introduce myself, I'm Shahan, and have been a Bristol City fan since 2007/08, and a regular City Women fan since 2018/19. This season I became the new co-host of Bristol City Vixencast, a podcast all about Bristol City Women, currently in its second season (formerly known as Oxtoby Revolution). Our latest episode (released a week ago) focuses on the Chelsea game, Loren Dykes' retirement and Ebony Salmon's call-up. I'd have posted a week ago but was waiting for my account to be authorised! I'll be using OTIB more to help promote the podcast (as well as contribute to all things City men & women). Please feel free to listen to the episode (as well as our non-canon interview specials we've done so far). Feedback & new listeners welcome!
  14. Looking forward to England's game tomorrow against Northern Ireland this time tomorrow, not just because it's their first proper game in almost a year, but also because of Ebony Salmon. Will be interesting to see where she will fit in the matchday squad. Looking at the training videos on the Lionesses' social media accounts, she seems to be settling in well!
