I’ve seen all of those players do good things though. And I would gladly have Cornick every week over Mehmeti. Cornick epitomises team play - Mehmeti literally just gives the ball away.

And I won’t change my mind on any of this if he scores the winner. His Bristol City career so far has been nothing short of non league.

    Each to their own.

Personally, I like the fact that Mehmeti gets the ball, takes responsiblity, and tries to make things happen. He does beat players and take players out the game, even if some fans strangely persist with the narrative that he never does anything useful. He's a promising young player who needs an investment of time and coaching.

Cornick is a signing I find much more frustrating. A player with Championship experience who is supposedly in his prime, who should have been ready to hit the ground running. Realistically, he's come in and offered nothing. And unlike Mehmeti, there's no real possibility of development. Mehmeti appears to have the raw ingredients but struggles to apply them, whereas Cornick looks like a player who doesn't 'have anything about him'. Nothing against him personally, he tries his best, but just a serious lack of quality there.

Our system, tactics and style of play are being overhauled for long term success, LM cannot just snap his fingers and change our whole approach of playing overnight?.   It needs some time and patience.  The constant comparisons between a manager who had a number of windows to recruit and one who has hardly had one is irrational.  NP was a great bloke who was poorly treated........but he's gone.

I wouldn't mind that if it were indeed that simple.

But what evidence is there to suggest that our system, tactics, and style of play under Manning are more conducive to long term success than under Pearson?

It appears to be a new plan that doesn't have any greater chance of success than the plan we already had.

Ridiculously sacked!! If after 30 months he hadn’t moved the club forward how much longer did he need? If by end of may 26 manning hasn’t moved us forward no doubt he will get the same treatment. Be interesting to see where we are this time next year

It's incredible that we have fans who genuinely believe Pearson didn't move the club forward

  4. Also, the way our fanbase seems to flip flop on Conway is amazing.

A few weeks ago he was sh*t.
Then he scored away at West Ham and he was great.
Then we lost to PNE and he was sh*t again.
Then we beat West Ham at home and we were worried about Bournemouth taking him.
Now we've drawn with Watford and we need to replace him ASAP.

    F****** hell 😂

Wells is our best striker. I’m still not convinced by Conway and wouldn’t be worried if we cashed in. We need a better number 9 overall who can stretch a defence.

Watford have what we lack, edge of your seat players. They stretched us, we have nobody to stretch. He has no plan B Manning.

I think our fans are very harsh on Conway at times.

He's 21 and averaging a goal every 178 minutes this season. His rate of return was very similar last season too. I think his all-round game is pretty decent, without him really excelling in any one particular area. I hate to use the term, but to me he feels like a natural goalscorer.

Personally, I'm not sure that we could expect to sign a better 21 year old striker than Tommy Conway.

If anything, I'd be inclined to try and move on Wells and/or Cornick in order to fund another forward option.

Said it earlier - they have some good players! We did really well to get back into the game from 0-1, and showed some good signs. Twine hit the ground running and put in several dangerous dead balls, we pressed and got in their faces, had them running back towards their own goal at times. Wasn't the constant back and forth between Tanner and Vyner that we've seen in some games. We played a lot better than we have done in the league recently - but Watford were also better than what we've come up against. Take a point and a solid performance and move on - free hit on Friday against Forest and hopefully another good atmosphere under the lights. Looking forward to it.

    Think that's slightly generous.

Set piece delivery was very good, but in open play very little came off for him (with the obvious exception of the tap in). Also thought his pressing lacked a bit of intensity compared to our other midfielders and forwards.

Hopefully it's just a case of him taking a couple of weeks to assimilate.

Look he makes some fantastic saves and has very good games, but let's not gloss over some of his horrendous displays, and I'm still not sold on his kicking under pressure, his good displays do outweigh his f ups so he is in credit with me. I'm afraid he will always have howlers followed by a world-class display, that's just the way it is with Max.

    Spot on.

He'll have days where he makes some great saves, and he'll have days where he makes a few howlers (he seems especially prone to the ball going "through" him at times).

His starting position can be great for being "proactive" on the edge of his box, but his kicking leaves a lot to be desired.

He's fine. Not good, not awful, just fine.
