  1. We switched back to lopsided on the other side when Sykes and Bell came on. Mehmeti came in field 10-15 yards, so Weimann was playing to instruction in the first half, tucking in and Mehmeti staying wide on the left.
  2. Momentum caused by confidence in winning games in L1. This season or never for Ipswich ala us under GJ. Was hoping for a new name from nowhere. But Manning fits the 'yes man' criteria and if we chuck money at him, you never know. I would've been much more confident in giving Nige a decent budget instead.
  3. This is bad isn't it...I didn't think it would get this bad. That interview is a slap in the face for loyal supporters of this club. Other than continuing to stick their fingers in their ears, how can they move forward from this?
  4. Yep, that crept up too, it used to be £45m
  5. This is my main reason for wanting a change at the top. I just dont think he wants it any more, we need someone with energy, fresh ideas, respect for the fanbase, no baggage. He's given it a go, when he's wanted to, but its becoming farcical.
  6. If only Nige was backed properly...worked miracles without backing, whilst bringing through young hungry lads. Just as importantly, he worked with integrity and honesty. Gutted by this crazy decision but not surprised our owner has made yet another baffling decision.

    Mehmeti

I think Nige has just taken him out of the firing line like he has before with Atkinson and Pring. Everyone thought Atkinson was off at one stage, don't forget, only to return a better player. I'm sure Anis will gradually be re-exposed to first team action in time and return a better player. Nige is clever like that. Yeboah clearly has talent and currently has the wind in his sails due to unexpected first team action, so I really dont think there is a big issue here.
  8. Interesting observations. I feel Bell is way ahead of Mehmeti at the moment, he's a threat and a finisher, albeit his all round contribution needs improving. Mehmeti definitely has skill and work rate but has some work to do to get ahead of Bell at the moment, good competition for places. Personally if not Bell, I'd have Weimann left forward currently. Wells looks sharp, I'm one of Conway's biggest fans, but I'd start Nakhi vs PNE.
  9. Has anyone yet mentioned the possible link between our new CEO and O'Neill's? Wasn't he consulting at Wycombe last season or the year before? Both shirts (Home and 3rd) are awful for different reasons. Home for fitting and just looking cheap and naff. 3rd for the weird 'Robin', a shame as I dont mind the colour-scheme. The blue training gear is annoying and odd. Classic City mind just as most other things with the club are looking decent.
  10. Personally, I find it a pleasure following this City team. For me that's enough, a flirt with the playoffs next season would be great. Up the City
  11. Versatility is true. But surely LW we have Bell, Mehmeti, Weimann who could comfortably play there. Bryan played more LB, LWB and LM for us rather than LW. I always preferred him LM in the 4411 we played. I like the sound of this McCorie though as a DM alongside James.
  12. Was more excited about the Currie signing, made more sense. Pring as first choice, Currie as cover. Not sure how JB fits in there.
  13. I'm in the 'don't get battered tonight, then beat Cardiff' camp. Currently, Man City don't make it feel as special as if it were Arsenal, Liverpool, Man U. But still, it's about enjoying the moment. COYR
  14. Mehmeti £1m seems the common consensus. £5m, no way, we're not that club anymore.
  15. Always been impressed with Cornick, ever since he finished well against us when they played us off the park and beat us 3-0 at their place under LJ. I've been hoping we'd be in for him ever since. Seems to do quite well against us, mind. So maybe my view is based on that. Very different to Semenyo, but a stylish player, not sure I've ever seen him play left of a 3 though?
  16. That's the best idea I've seen on here. A whole stand for standing. Away fans could go E34 and E33 in that instance, similar to Norwich. In terms of expanding the corner, S24 wouldn't encroach sight lines either, I'm on the edge of S25 and still outside of the corner flag/touchline.
  17. I think it makes sense, albeit I can't see the club liking it very much. Good on the ones giving it a go.
  18. Yeah, I got a Forza Eastend scarf from years ago, but I don't think it's the same people. Then again I'm not involved any more. The hashtag is #Pearsonout. Remarkable. Regarding the booing of Joe Low, I'll be honest, because it was a cup game there were loads of people I've never seen before in the corner, not regulars, not saying it was all newbies.
  19. Wow, that is embarrassing. Is this just a youngster who has thought this up and tried to make it something?
  20. Spot on. Almost every point as I see it too. I was really disappointed with some of our fans on Boxing Day. I'm in the 'Singing Section' corner...whatever you want to call it. Very little atmosphere throughout the game, until their voices were found near the end to chant about Pearson Out etc. As a big Pearson fan, I was really disappointed to see the line up for the WBA game, especially following the Stoke performance and result. But it's all about context, if Pearson had the resources LJ was handed and still getting these results, I'd probably join in, but that isn't the case! I do feel the supporters have a part to play in improving things for themselves. No, a good atmosphere doesn't guarantee points, but this isn't the first manager in recent times to suggest it might be easier for the players to play away from home. Get behind the team boys and girls. COYR!
  21. Agree, that's how I feel. We're closing in on Nige no longer having to work with both hands tied behind his back. I've always been a Pearson fan. Boxing Day and Stoke is hard even for me to defend. Especially an unchanged 11 after a dismal performance and result against Stoke. But I feel we are close to him really showing his worth with transfer dealings. I think we will loan one or two in Jan to keep us above a horrible relegation battle. Then the summer will be a real opportunity for a fresh start. If we can stay up, and strengthen in the summer, then it's fair to judge Pearson. COYR
  22. It was a dour atmosphere yesterday other than first 10 of each half. Swansea weren't great either, about 200 singing for first 20 and when they equalised. I noticed our fans were very quiet at Reading last week, and more and more so recently. Blackpool away last season was the same, turned up in numbers, most stood, most silent. People outside of the South Stand/Dolman corner may be surprised to hear there are variable dynamics within a relatively small space, its not one unit. Youngsters seem obsessed with singing about Joey Barton, olders don't seem to like anything with more than 4 words in it, others just want to be Crystal Palace and everyone inbetween seems to be waiting for it to happen (including myself to be fair). It lacks any togetherness or anything decent and new. It'll come back around again, it always does, just needs a bit of sustained, relative success. E.g. A playoff push or cup run.
  23. Just short of 1200 in the corner. The point still stands though, it's a shame AG can't be rejigged to get home support behind both goals
