Williams won’t start, NP virtually said as much pre match when discussing HNM’s absence.
I expect with James out he’ll be a sub but not a starter.
Wouldn’t be shocked to see Wells start, whether that is partnering Conway or Martin, who knows?
Can only be Martin with Nige he wont leave him out he done jack shit yesterday but he will play.

I am more than prepared to let Pearson remedy matters after just 2 games, so he has until early October to prove himself, which i believe he will, but if he hasn't sorted our deficiencies by then........well his position will probably be become untenable. Just worried about his tactical naivety, his poor use of substitutes, and his favourtism towards certain players? Dasilva is an ok defender, but he cannot cross and he cannot shoot, so why is he a wing back? ( Sorry, it has been bothering me, and i had to get it off my chest..Ha!)
I agree mate strange goings on pring been out a while now klose out of favour when he tightened it up at the back and conway infront of wells ? I hope he sorts it out as i thought he would time will tell .

For the numbers at the ground and being the first home game etc I expected more problems during the afternoon
Personally wasn't aware of anything, no aggro between supporters, both groups mingling and chatting together at various places
The only thing I saw was the over exuberant celebrations for their equaliser when the advertising boards were knocked over, one chap got escorted out
Not sure mate Wasnt there but a bloke i know travelling up to watch manure v Brighton on saturday night was in spoons after the game and said it kicked off always found them to be ok myself .?

An injury time age wouldn’t be too bad, It would annoy the Dolman Stand lot who won’t be able to leave early out of respect
True no good having it ten minutes before ht or ten before the end as there isnt enough time in the day for some to grab a pint sit in Dolman pisses me off going down the steps standing infront of you on way out .

They battered us 2nd half. Jack Clarke was easily the best player on the pitch and the 2 up front are a real handful.
Watched Everton v Chelsea that lad Ellis better zhan anything they had upfront .

I’m sure this won’t be the only player there’s a thread about, and it’s easy to point (correctly) to Vyner on the second goal and Naismith on the first, but for me, he was our biggest problem today.
I can also appreciate he wasn’t necessarily “set” coming in late, however this far into his time with us he should have a modicum of football intelligence. He doesn’t. If we’re playing from the back then angles to the CMs are huge. Not once in the second half was he in a position to receive and our options narrowed as a result. With Williams on a yellow he needed to be making tackles. He didn’t. When he did have the ball, he ran down blind alleys and didn’t use it.
It got so bad that Scott had to drop in and Massengo behind front two shortly before the sub to give us some kind of a body in there.
Primary school children run around a lot in games. By about year 5 they start understanding positioning a bit better. Han played like someone who was 8 years old and playing where he does, that always disjoints and impacts the team. I can’t fault his effort, but football intelligence is just not there and that - more than anything else - loses you games at this level.
Scott is our main man but last two games he hasnt shined

I think we need to bring a couple of players in. We've had a look at our first two games, we can see what's good and what's not so good (being kind) and a couple of better players now would ensure a reasonably comfortable season given it looks like we aren't that shoddy when we have the ball.
Midfield is piss poor we havent got a dominating player in there which causes pressure on the defence .

1. Play 4 at the back and a extra man in midfield
2. Sign a midfielder who will go straight into the team
3. Get a striker on loan to replace Chris Martin - Needs a bit of pace to be able to turn the opposition. If he ain’t going to play Wells which for ever reason he won’t we are sorely lacking upfront (before any says it - Conway is not the answer)
4. Be prepared to play Wilson or Sykes as wide of a front three or just sign a winger on loan we need pace (Seymour will help when back)
And if we could get a decent left back who is over 5 10 (Maybe Pringle could do the job)
I understand money is tight but we need to use the loan system to just give the squad the balance it needs.
With the right additions we would half a decent squad.
Scott, Seymeyo, Wilson, Williams, Kalas, Bentley, Wiemann plus maybe 3 additions plus the squad players would surely give us enough to stay the right side of the top half this year.
There is little dead wood in the squad Nige has done a good job it’s just not enough coming in the other end.
Cant argue with that totally agree martin fell over the ball scored but he was crap lead in his boots but pearson wont leave him or james out when fit and true conway out in loan for a year .

Because he’s the king of “would have, should have, could have”.
He changes his opinion & retrospective team selection to suit the result & is also very selective with the “facts” he uses or he simply makes stuff up, like Danny Simpson’s £15k a week wages.
He has blocked me on Twitter after I pointed this type of thing out, so don’t get me started on “debating” with him.
Snap same with me blocked

Do you not think that we tackle like girls then?
Watched the game I thought Sykes was lucky not to have his leg broken some robust tackling by their defender who got away with it time and time again

Britton played once & never featured again, the fact (for that is what it is) that NP has given Conway 10 games now suggests he thinks he has got it.
You say Williams & James lack creativity, I (& others on this thread) think the former is a decent passer of the ball, but this is just opinion again, isn’t it?
Pearson did say he wanted another midfielder, but a defensive one.
Like last year when he said he wanted a striker & then didn’t sign one, there is sadly a difference at present between what we would like & what we can afford.Exactly unfortunately it's all to do with money something we haven't got I think if money was there Conway would be gone on loan maybe league one somewhere so he's a bit stuffed really I think most of what he's brought in are good players Naismith Wilson and Sykes.

That’s all simply an opinion, not a “fact”, isn’t it?
You think “we are too weak in midfield” & Conway is “nowhere near ready”.
Those aren’t facts.
Facts are Tommy Conway has already scored a goal at Championship level & James & Williams have both played over 100 games at that level.
Louis Britton scored a goal at Championship level that didn't make him a championship player did it plus james and williams together offer nothing going forward thats why the forwards are lacking in creativity and I take it Nige is trying to add to the midfield?

Ian, Mark and DaveP discuss the 2-1 defeat at Hull where City's performance was worthy of a point [at least?].
When City took the lead with a fine Weimann goal on the half hour it was no more than they deserved against a Hull side with so many new additions they probably don't know each other's names yet!
Vyner had a decent game on his return to the first team although was lucky not to have a penalty awarded against him for an early challenge. People say things even themselves out over a season and maybe ref Dean Whitehouse aimed to prove that point when he awarded the home side a penalty after a dive by Tetteh that would not have looked out of place at the Commonwealth Games in the Triple Jump. That made it 1-1 through Tufan's well struck kick and although Weimann almost scored his second to put City back in front there was a growing sense of inevitability that Hull would get the winner as a the game moved into injury time. That Seri's 93 minute winning strike took a wicked deflection off Klose should not detract from the fact that he was totally unmarked 20 yards out when he took aim.
Sykes was as good as Scott was poor and Nigel must be wondering whether James & Williams have enough energy and creativity to be the go to midfield pairing.
With 5 subs allowed perhaps Nigel could have brought on HNM and maybe even Wells to run down the clock with Martin the obvious player to come off?
Listened to the podcast cant argue with the fact we are too weak in the midfield james and williams lacking pace and very worried no striker being looked at even on loan hes made his mind up about wells and Conway nowhere near ready .
