If we’re gonna give away fans the whole atyeo then we should have the south stand for safe standing . Until we have an end behind the goal where fans can make noise ( like 90% of other clubs ) nothing will change . People can keep moaning about people making new threads for this topic but it needs addressing . If we just accept things how they are then nothing will change , almost like other things at this club ( club shop , Bristol sport , boardroom decisions) .

Use to make me cringe seeing the Bristol city v Liverpool billboard and the korey smith v united one . Nothing wrong with looking back at fond memories but even league two clubs don’t have things like that up in the concourse.

There’s definitely a tin pot mentality that runs right through the club from boardroom to fans . It started to get better under Pearson but unfortunately that’s come to an end . If you didn’t know much about football you would of thought we had won the fa cup and league cup the way some out of fans bang on about a win against man united and Liverpool . We’re a big city and a huge catchment area yet as a fan base we don’t have the ambition that a football club in a city our size should . As an example here are some clubs from places with a similar metro population, Athletic Bilbao , Valencia , Nice and Newcastle.

Tbf it’s nothing to do with how many French are in London and all down to how the psg shirt over the last few years had been seen as a fashion statement . Unfortunately last couple of times I’ve come to Bristol I’ve seen more psg and Real Madrid Shirts than City or Rovers .

I can’t be the only one who thought Hinds was gonna go on to be a championship regular after his performances in the cup ?

Couldn’t of said it any better . The sporting quarter will look great when done but I can’t see it helping with the sale of the football club on its own . If we carry on for too much longer under the Lansdowns all I can see is increased stagnation and maybe a period in league one eventually.

For a championship club we have such a tinpot mentality.

Got too much time on my hands tonight but just been on every other championship clubs shop website and every single one of them has a retro range . I don’t know who’s head of the merchandise department at Bristol sport but it’s quite clear the football side of things is kept as basic as possible and the club couldn’t care less about having any variety for fans .

The club shop has been an embarrassment ever since the rebuild . It’s gotta be the smallest club shop in the efl and it’s barely half filled with city merchandise. I went into Portsmouth’s club shop pre season to pick up tickets and the difference between ours and theirs was staggering. Also going into other championship club shops over the years their retro merchandise is a massive seller and yet we don’t seem to bother , massive change is needed at city and hopefully if we do get a buyer it won’t be as a Bristol sport package and Ashton gate can finally get back to representing city instead of rugby billboards everywhere.

One thing I’ve noticed with our fan base compared to others is how quickly they forget about things and just accept the situation and carry on as normal .

I took some neutral friends to Ashton Gate for their first time on a non match day and they said they wouldn’t have known whos stadium it was . Nothing city on the exterior and when you looked inside the lansdown concourse it was covered in rugby pictures , even the big screen outside was online advertising rugby things .

Imagine Roy Keane working under the lansdowns personally I’d quite like him as a manager but don’t think he would last 5 mins under the guernsey dictatorship.

I’ve known of him since he was caretaker at qpr , that’s why I’m not filled with confidence as I don’t think he warrants sacking an experienced manager for .

Ok that’s fair enough . Sorry but I really fail to see the attraction of sacking a highly experienced manager who wasn’t given funds to replace him with Someone pretty much unknown and set up to fail.

QPR isn’t a club we should be aiming to be like and he was linked with swansea but he was Birmingham manager at the time so it was unlikely anyway mate .

I’ll get behind him if it’s true but how underwhelming sacking big nige for someone who’s just gonna be another lansdown yes man and eventually scapegoat . I wish him all the best if we make him manager but this appointment leaves me so disinterested in the club whilst it’s run by the lansdowns , we’ll never have any proper success under them .

That’s like any manager though mate . Until we get to the prem(Big ask) we will always have the possibility of managers being poached .
