Great effort by Palace in the last 7 games of the season, 19pts from 21.

Sheffield Utd, dogshit football, less than 0.5pts per game, conceded 100+goals, 3rd worst ever PL seasonal performance, and handsomely rewarded for failure.

Probably worse than Derby in some ways as they were stronger ?

Palace bern great - have to hope for their sake they can keep the attacking fit and at the club .

They’ll certainly start as the strong favourites.

Obviously all three coming back down will have a massive financial advantage as well but only arguably Sheff U are comparable in terms of size & they have been a shambles this season.

Just to add Sky’s commentary last night said Southampton had the third highest budget this season, Leicester had the biggest, Leeds second.

We probably knew this, but what a farce it really is, not exactly a competitive, level playing field.

Players mlght go but they will have the ability to replace them too .

  3. Having reviews won’t stop “ bad controversial “ subjective decisions being made by officials though ?

Even in cricket and rugby there is more and more questions asked about the DRS system and TMO by a team who don’t get the decision they want or expect .

Ben Stokes was complaining about the former in India for example.

I am not sure anything really works unless  there is an incident so clear cut even the most biased of fan or player can complain.

We got ourselves onto this mess by expecting perfection and all refs to be like robots in a way when they aren’t.

Football needs to be careful it doesn't follow the same route as Rugby which has been ruined by video decisions to the point I can't watch it anymore.

People want rugby/cricket style appeals and replays but not they would work really .

Still be down to the refs subjective opinion and would teams accept losing a review on that ?

The communication can certainly be better yes for fans at games .

No. Just get rid of it.

Yes if they are made to rush you might still get errors and teams will complain the ref was too quick to malt a decision.

Teams won’t care how long a decision takes or what it is so long as it goes their way .

That is the main crux .

Fans not knowing what is going on will be another issue

Just picked up news that there is a proposal from Wolves. For premier teams to vote on weather to keep VAR or get rid. So as I understand VAR is planned to be in Championship next year.  It could all get a bit messy with all sorts of opinions, counter opinions, arguments and all sorts of chaos. And they only got till August to make a decision. Yes I get it VAR is not perfect but this all strikes me as getting very messy.

Think that was an April Fools joke !

VAR is an example of be careful what you wish for.

The Premier League will vote to keep it despite the vast majority of fans hating VAR.

They sound like Millwall fans. No likes it we don't care. Pathetic, fans count for **** all.

They will like it if decisions go for them so could do .

  8. It’s been too subjective which people didn’t realise .

From a fans point of view probably the right idea.

We haven’t seen decisions get any better with it

Mind you won’t stop teams complaining about decisions!

Pretty disrespectful towards West Ham saying they have already won the league.

Probably because they have City v West Ham but not the Arsenal game  (TNT have 2nd pick ) so hoping they do it .

It's been announced that from the 2025/26 season ITV have lost the rights to show games on free to air TV

TNT are the main channel but as part of their successful bid they had to incorporate a free to air channel

BBC have been chosen as their preferred partner and will continue to show FA Cup games including the final

Yes they get 14 live games.
