  1. Warne teams have a tendancy to bypass midfield and head for the wings, I don't think Max needs total possession but would like the attacks to move through him more.
  2. I'm under the impression you kept possession without creating chances where we tended to launch ineffective crosses into the box giving possession away.
  3. Quality is a bit subjective, whilst Warne had recieved critism for the style of his football it has generally been effective. His teams have trouble breaking down teams and most of the stick he's got has been follwing games we were unable to break down "lesser" teams defending in depth. Our performance against the better teams has been generally good, and it may well suit us to be attacked more providing our defence holds then. We are likely to end up as the sort of team that concedes possession and ends up scoring a set peice or hitting on the counter. On to Max, his style works in a Warne team but it doesn't showcase him. I'm lead to believe he's ambitious to play at the top level and Manningball will make him look better than Warneball. He will make himself available and pass to someone who is available and repeat. It's a team game and whilst he only accasionally does something spectacular he'll be an effective cog in the Manning midfield getting the ball to players who have got into good positions. There were some worries his performance would drop on his loan but it didn't, that shows his good character. He leaves with all of our good wishes. The other thread suggested he might regret the move following our promotion, I really don't think so, unless you sack Manning and bring in Warnock.
  4. It's so diifcult to be sure from the outside but their naming of Kirchner as a preferred bidder must be a black mark. Athough he seems to have some powers of persuasion. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/other/ex-preston-north-end-and-derby-county-bidder-found-guilty-of-money-laundering-and-wire-fraud/ar-BB1hieVE
  5. Top official is overstating it, you might think you get crap refs but Div 1 is a step down.
  6. We definately got the decisions in this one, I think the ref might have been swayed by the fact he totally screwed us in two previous games when he reffed us.
  7. Thr training ground is on land leased from Loco Park Estate so it couldn't go to developers, if we owned it outright and it could have been developed it would have been gone. I guess the administrators figured they could get a better deal for the creditors with the Cat 1 intact. However we lost all of our best players in the becoming pro age range and a couple of years below so it's set us back years.
  8. The talk was he wasn't going to sign a new contract for us and whilst we might have been prepared to risk a Tribunal there was a rumour Rangers were interested and a cross border move would have screwed us.
  9. Max is a very tidy footballer. He reads the game well and has an excellent short passing game. Our setup at the moment isn't ideal for him to show this, if there are no forward passing options he will play safe and go backwards or sideways. He's not a great dribbler but will go past players if they are on their heels, or if they are being hesitant watching other runners. He doesn't score many but they tend to be screamers. If you are planning a passing midfield with lots of movement he'll be fine for you. He wouldn't have worked for Pearson, but may well suit Manning. Here's his assist from yesterday as an example of his skills I might correct some of you mishaprehentions about our finances and former owner later if I can be bothered.
