This bone head is back again. Only yesterday said "leave it for the weekend", yet comes back for more.

Just can't help himself. Typical Blue Few...

You seem awfully angry...is it me or is it actually the pile of steaming horse manure that your team dished up today?

    Did you mean complimentary?

If you are going to come on here and criticise people's grammar and try and use big words you don't understand, at least get them right!

You are not only very offensive with what you write, you are also showing yourself up as being something you clearly are not.

At the risk of incurring a further tutorial, would it not be be easier to say 'pretending to be something you are clearly not'?

I have not written anything that is 'very offensive'.

Hang on a mo, earlier you state you'd 'heard' opposition fans and managers blowing smoke up your arses. Then you just copy and paste the above quotes straight from the local rag. Do you understand the difference between hearing and reading. You can't help yourselves with your delusional lying can you?

Also you claim to have never heard the 'is this a library' sung at the memorial. You either don't go to football or as stated earlier, you are a liar.

Are they or are they not complementary about our fans?

Sung by away supporters at every ground in similar circumstances, including yours no doubt.

Meanwhile the greatest squad ever assembled in Bristol is receiving a reappraisal.

"I’m far from convinced by this keeper as well.
Belshaw the better of the two from what I’ve seen so far.
Collins needs a game or two on the bench he’s been out of form for about 4 months of season time and Sinclair is in form.
Finley a liability in midfield , either he’s badly out of form or his legs have gone and this is what we can now expect from him.
Start Sinclair for Collins and Bogarde for Finley next match I reckon.
Loft is useless needs to be sold / out on loan and we need a striker before the window closes."

Never heard it at the Mem. I have however heard opposition fans and managers repeatedly say that it is difficult place to play because of the home fans and the atmosphere they generate.

Collins does need to be given a rest. He has been out of form since the end of last season - he won best player in the league because of his pre-Christmas form. Bring in Sinclair and stick with Marquis upfront.

Finley is struggling and replacing him with Bogarde for a few games seems a good decision.

Loft isn't useless but isn't a top-half L1 striker and needs to be moved on.

I see that your fans are calling for a new striker. Why not JCH? I'm surprised no championship club has taken a gamble on him yet.

"This season, the road to promotion is in front of us. The bus is here, as it has been since 2011, ever hopeful, waiting for us to climb aboard and carve our name in the annals of Bristol Rovers football history.

For me, I am daring to dream of the unattainable - To be Champions - the ground-breaking goal. Like everyone, I’ll take promotion in anyway.

With the right mindset and the talent in our squad anything is possible.

The bus is ready to ride again."

That is actually very amusing - this and the Birmingham fans chanting 'is this a library' at your silent fans gave me a much-needed lift. Thank you.

The News - In Cambridge today a derailment of Joey Barton’s premier league train occurred. No casualties are reported, although one gAsshole is missing.

The Weather- A period of @Hot Airappears to have disappeared. The rest of the week is expected to be calm.

Not at all - a concentration of 'Hot Air' is expected to be moving into the OTIB forum in response to the suggestion that Birmingham fans responded to a lack of atmosphere by chanting 'is this a library'? during their 2-0 triumph. After this abject display, OTIB contributors can expect to experience a sustained depression and dark moods for the whole of next week, which will only be briefly alleviated by brief infusions of 'Hot Air'.

Sweetheart, you've heard it said that the opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference?

You and your fellow contributors are quite clearly not indifferent to us. Your protestations notwithstanding, you are still deeply interested and even invested in us and our fate and fortune.

Now, it is Friday evening. Let's leave it here for the weekend.

Ahh i just remember the last derby played there “thumped ‘em at Trumpton” was the slogan i recall.

Think back a bit further to May 2, 1990, when BRFC beat you 3-0 to clinch the league title.

    Enjoy:

Even better than the 4-0 hammering subsequently handed out.

Didn’t have a great record there but it certainly wasn’t because of the 47 mute swans in the “Popular Side” (an oxymoron if ever there was one!)

However, once you were ensconced in the Pisspoorial we quickly took you apart three times there inside a calendar year. :)

'Didn't have a great record' is something of an understatement. You were taught a footballing lesson on more than one occasion.

You just need to look at their reaction when Al Qadi arrived and they thought they had a billionaire on their hands.

Bragging about being the biggest and wealthiest club in Bristol, suggesting they all wave fivers at Morecombe fans in the next match.

    The mask really slipped.

As the Man City fan said to the Gashead, we are everything they want to be. They’ll never have their spiritual home back though.

Refer back to my earlier comments. I have made it clear that I dislike big money and that I especially dislike people who brag about having lots of money. Unfortunately the loadsamoney mentality has permeated football, to the point where people see big finances as something to boast about.

And I'm inclined to agree with Steve Evans, a man who's been in around the game longer then you have and would know something smells when he sees it.

    Pure corruption.

Evans was caught and punished for doing things he shouldn't have done. This doesn't make him an authority on corruption in the game.

So the first 8 words of your post is a lie. To be honest 99% of the posts you have made are at best pathetic.

However, to use Steve Evans to back up your belief that you lot create an atmosphere is truly astounding. Then you bring up Trumpton. It wasn't even your ground and it wasn't intimidating, it was just shite and not unlike the Mem. At least Trumpton had 4 sides to I suppose.

I used to get the impression your team was beaten before they stepped out onto the pitch at Twerton...

Sounds like Evans knows a lot about illegal bungs then, he would know best. I wonder how that 16 year old goalie from Scunthorpe is doing? I sure hope Scunthorpe used that bonus for your promotion well. :)

So what you're saying is we can't take his word then. Understood.

How does your record in football league management compare to Keith Hill? Because I'm inclined to take his judgement over yours.

Hill made it clear why he was playing a team of rookies and indeed had actually managed to get points playing with them.

Yes, I remember that laughable “Welcome to Hell” banner and the intimidating sound of Gash footsteps trudging away from the ground as we knocked in a fourth goal at Trumpton.

As for the Pisspoorial, I posted some comments last season after games where various away fans had commented how dead your slag heap was. Scroll back and take a look.

Oh, and by the way, one Bristol club had an impressive display of limbs after their last-gasp winner in Sarf London the last seven days with no empty seats visible - and it wasn’t you.

That was the same season when we won 2-0 at AG, wasn't it? A Beadle double as I recall. The second being pretty special - I was right behind it.

That 4-2 was something of a collector's item, wasn't it? One of the reasons your lot repeatedly folded at Trumpton was because they couldn't handle the atmosphere and the novelty of playing in an environment where the fans get behind their team.

Steve Evans needs to take this up with Keith Hill, who is highly respected in lower league football and who, unlike Evans, has never been suspended from football management.

No you've morphed into a club with zero morals or any common decency. I hope Jevani Brown gets 25 goals for you this season :)

I wonder what you would think if we had middle eastern owners, stole our ground, attempting to now move into our 4th home. 3rd home in 30 years. That sounds all very soulless to me don't you think. Not to mention having a convicted criminal as a manager, who you all chant and have banners of every week. Soulless indeed.

I hope we can play a part in Jevani Brown's rehabilitation. He has expressed contrition for his past actions and shown a willingness to reform.

Barton isn't the first footballer to serve time, and he won't be the last. The actual issue for me is that he has not expressed remorse or contrition for his past actions.

As I recall, one of your players played with a tag, didn't they? You also no doubt cheered on Steve Brooker and Dave Partridge.

  19. 5 minutes ago, cityal said:

Yep - very few people call circuses "corporate entities" - perhaps also you should bear in mind which club was piping in crowd noise over the PA before trying to call us soulless?

I am hoping your poxy team of prison dodgers go back to getting rinsed by Acrington, Exeter, Morecambe and Fleetwood soon. I suspect we wont see you on here then.

I don't want to stir things up further, but opposition managers have commented on our ability to create an atmosphere and get behind our team. Both Steve Evans and Derek Adams have said this, along with others.

Even at Twerton, we created an atmosphere, got behind the team and turned it into an intimidating place to play.

In contrast, I remember Gary Johnson attempting to create an atmosphere at your ground by encouraging your fans to 'bounce around the ground'. Happily, none of our managers ever needed to resort to such desperate and frankly embarrassing measures.

I've actually discussed this earlier in the thread. As a club, you were previously pretty unappealing but at least had a degree of character and authenticity. You are now a slick corporate entity with as much soul and personality as Lansdown's other 'investments'. As I pointed out previously to another, 'success' has come with a clear cost for you.

You remind me of a middle-aged businessman. You are comfortable, well-established but essentially bored. Say what you like about Rovers under Barton, but it certainly isn't boring.

I’m interested in what’s going on at Bristol Rovers. It’s very entertaining.

I'm actually touched - you all appear almost as interested in my own club as your own.

It is very entertaining, and this is in large part because we haven't morphed into a soulless corporate entity, unlike a certain club I could touch with a very short stick.

What is your opinion on him cashing in on your clubs supporters thirst for information, whilst excluding the club from that money making stream?

My opinion is that he has enough money (bragging on Twitter about being down to his last 20m) not to need to do this.

Unfortunately, the more money people have, the more interested they become in it.
