  1. They wanted him after his good start at Swansea. Paterson wanted the move but Swans rejected.
  2. Personally I think this is an excellent signing.
  3. “Playoffs - minimum”. Interesting.
  4. Our strikers need a partner, and our full backs need to get up the pitch.
  5. Firstly, I know this isn’t going to happen. NP has seemingly put all his eggs in the 433 basket. Secondly, some people say formations don’t matter, well, 3 shots on target says otherwise. This formation enables us to get our best players on the pitch and offers more support to our forward players. We do not have a forward who can play upfront by himself, and we don’t have wingers who can cross a ball, our best delivery players are our full backs who can’t get up the pitch….this formation enables them to. Pring has no relationship with Bell or Mehmeti, and Tanner has no relationship with Cornick and is scared to cross the half way line…..wingbacks enables us to get our full backs up the pitch…..Pring/Roberts on the left….Sykes on the right. Bell/Cornick/Wells need support, a partner, someone who they can work with, someone who can occupy defenders….they aren’t physical enough, clever enough to play up top by themselves……this isn’t the QPR side where Wells did so well with 2 creative wingers and 2 classy CMs putting him in. Dickie has played in a 3 at QPR, Vyner and Naismith are proven at this level…..it takes time to coach, surely it’s worth considering? Does this lineup look any worse than what we’ve seen so far this season? O’Leary Vyner Naismith Dickie Sykes James Knight Pring Weimann/Mehmeti Wells Cornick Thoughts?
  6. Good for young girls but the answer is obviously no.
  7. Well they said they were planned for it, hence the plan a and plan b.
  8. I don’t think Lansdown wants him here long term, all boils down to that imo.
  9. He certainly didn’t inspire confidence when he spoke on Sound of the City when Pearson was off with Covid. He didn’t have a clue what was going on.
  10. I think he is definitely playing a tow the line message, he should be asking to reinvest some of that in private, if not, and he genuinely thinks the likes of Bell, Cornick and Wells will fire us to the playoffs, then he is deluded.
  11. It’s all on the Alex Scott sale. Losing him has taken us from a playoff chasing side to lower mid-table. To not reinvest just 4/5 mil of that is incredibly harsh on Pearson.
  12. So? You weren’t talking about profit, you were saying “one hand behind his back”, which is the same for many clubs Preston, Huddersfield, Sunderland many clubs could come under that category.
  13. Can’t the same be said for most championship managers? Ryan Lowe works on a very tight budget at Preston, same could be said for 15 other teams…..Pearson has had considerably more to spend on both fees and wages than some others.
  14. Not sure he warrants being properly backed. Done a great job in blooding the youngsters but he has made some strange decisions himself.
  15. Is that a serious question? By your logic only those in the professional game are able to question signings. For clarity, Nicky Hunt was crap for us, Damion Stewart was crap for us, Ryan Mcgivern was crap for us, Matthew Bates was crap for us, Diony was crap for us the list goes on and on…..and so far Cornick and Mehmeti have had little impact, so therefore they are questionable signings, don’t need to be an elite professional footballer to see that.
  16. Because he doesn’t want him long term - he’s got his eye on Mark Robins or some younger manager who fits the ‘brand’.
  17. I’ve got to give you credit, this is one of the most stupid questions I’ve ever been asked.
  18. You clearly don’t understand the difference between “spending some money” and “splashing the cash”.
  19. Hence why he isn’t a championship first choice rb. Boy amongst men.
  20. He signed Cornick and Mehmeti and told us pre season was exactly what they needed - seen little progress. Not impressed with recruitment prior to this summer.
  21. Away from home isn’t the issue with him and the majority of the squad. NP said himself in press conference about the full backs. He offers nothing going forward.
  22. This is the problem when you don’t sign players who aren’t good with the ball at their feet, you get into good positions and do sweet FA with it. Pearson has heavily re recruited pace and counter attacking football, unfortunately the only players who can pass a ball are defenders:
  23. Tanner was also awful against Preston. Not good enough.
  24. I did say “based on what I’ve seen so far”, if they improve then great I appreciate Mehmeti especially hasn’t had the run of games he probably needs. Tanner is the perfect example of a L1/L2 full back playing in the Champ, he offers nothing going forward, does a very basic job defensively but I actually think he is one of the reasons we are so poor going forward, literally offers nothing. Not so much disapointed, we have a stack of players who are very average champ players - James, Williams, Vyner etc…..I think we need a GK, CB, and striker. one thing I will say is I was very surprised that Wells got a new deal, yes reduced wages but money is tight and I’m suprised NP didn’t want to get a more physical striker to replace him…..he is good with the youth though, isn’t that Jason Euells job?
