  1. looks like G Sharpe behind him? and those benches around the inside, sat on them a couple of times....close to the action but view wasnt great
  2. John Galley Superstar, how many goals have you scored so far thanks for the memories and of proper days at the footie.
  3. Dont worry there will be another one just like it, starting in a few months. Full of words of hope and little else, we need the engine driver to drive us on and not be content to sit in a layby with the engine just ticking over. Others pass us by on the road some going up and yes some going down, here we sit its what The Driver wants.
  4. There are lots of "levels" of a hard time, from getting dumped by the girlfriend to getting a life ending condition, like cancer; losing close family by natural causes or a terrible accident. Most struggle with life, bill paying etc and it is difficult to keep going and not get too depressed, even more difficult is to put it down in writing or chat on threads like this... fearfull of opening up. Many are also too wrapped up in there own struggles to bother with other folks probs, thanks for threads like this to give those who just want to talk, about things without fear or favour.
  5. 100% agree a great manager who was sacked not backed, they have still not learnt anything; Even the latest choice...Manning, if the last window is anything to go by will not be backed this summer, to any degree. We will continue to look for newbies who will be; sold at a profit to cover his bad decisions, or get injured or not play at all; we will show no belief or ambition, prefering to build/rebuild and go nowhere. Many believe and are sold; the hope for the future/the next window/the next manager, the owner is only interested in maintaining the status quo and property developing and not getting us to the top div.
  6. We wont pay enough to sign Twine perm and if the last transfer window is anything to go by we will bring in a cheap striker from abroad we have never heard of and not play him/or he will be injured pre season. All this while accepting any offer for any of our players, this will turn next season from mediocre to poor and desperate, most will still hang on to hope till xmas at least however. Our owner will not make enough investment to push us on just the min to keep us ticking over.......so predictable.
  7. Terry Bush, Bobby Kellard, Alan Skirton etc, great days at the footie indeed
  8. Another back in the day that had a place in felt tip on my toolbox, legs like tree trunks. Will never forget, now rest in peace.
  9. last reply on this thread; you reckon? we managed to get to the top div without Lansdowns "help" and beat many of the clubs there in the ramshakle AG
  10. its his debt ffs his choices, this is going around in circles just like this club, back to thread topic
  11. he was a gas head fan was only when they fled to Bath he thought he would try us.....the rest is history and how we got to this force we are now
  12. let me think.........where has the debt come from, wait a minute...............wouldnt be the Lansdowns sh1te decisions on manager/ceo appointments would it?
  13. Are you watching Steve/Jon just wtf are you doing....anything?
  14. just noticed left sided diverticula on report, however 2 out of 3 older folk have it many dont even know, could be nothing could be something....whatever... off to Dorset soon
  15. It is said SL was in fact a gashead fan "around 63/64" and only came here after they moved to Twerton, went with "a friend and his dad" according to that report in Bristol live, way back, and could easily have been bankrolling them rather than us.
