  1. Starting to get a bit worried as we are starting to slip down the table. If QPR pick up a few more points over the next few games then it will definitely start to look like a bit of a relegation scrap. But this team doesn't feel like a relegation team. Granted not a top 6 either despite what Jon and Brian will have us try and believe. Just hope we do enough to stay up then try and push on. It does feel like all the hard work that has been put in over the past few seasons is starting to fall apart though. I hope I am wrong. But I will be there Saturday regardless and will get behind the team.
  2. Anyone going to Blackburn tomorrow should take a coat! Its going to be cold! Wrap up warm.
  3. Not sure what to expect tomorrow. Difficult game on a Tuesday night. However this is a funny old league and anyone can beat anyone on their day. Lets hope for a bit of luck and a win on the road tomorrow!
  4. Safe journey to all the City fans making the trip up to Huddersfield today.
  5. I will be renewing my season ticket next season. Bristol City is my team for life, it doesn't matter who the owners are or manager is as they will change as time goes on.
  6. I just wanted to say thankyou for welcoming me to the forum over the past month. I am new to the forum after being a "guest" and observing from a distance for many years. I decided to sign up and participate and get involved in the discussions on the forum. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has responded to my threads so far and joined in the discussion and those who have made me feel welcome at at home on here. It was nice to be accepted and welcomed on the forum and I am really grateful. I also wanted to say to the mods and the people who run this forum, what a fantastic fans forum it is. Looking at other club forum pages who are not as well designed or as professional as ours. On other teams forums when I go and visit (often before we play them to see what their view points on the upcoming game is) I am often bombarded with adds and difficult to navigate etc. What a great community we have here on OTIB and proud to be apart of it. Thanks everyone,
  7. He shouldn't have to read all the abuse he's getting online Abuse is never ok. But its difficult now adays as everything is online and people are more contactable than they were before. People send things in the heat of the moment that they wouldn't probably send the day after the game, after they take a bit of time to cool off and process things. Brian did a fantastic job when he was head of our academy and brought through some very good players and did a lot of good work for the club. However he does seem to be struggling in his new role and a bit out of his depth and I blame the Lansdown's for overpromoting him, or does he need a mentor to help teach him a job he hasn't done before? I don't necessary blame him as its a higher up issue. We all get frustrated at times supporting City. Supporting City is something we do for the love of the game and our club. Especially as we all put so much of our hard earned money into the club, in our season tickets food drink etc. Be kind to each other
  8. Does anyone know the official attendance for today please? It looked like there was a fair few empty seats around the stadium today, so not sure if a few session ticket holders gave it a miss today, or if people are saving money due to it being nearly Christmas, or if people are just a bit fed up at the moment so didn't bother going today.
  9. I enjoyed my hot chocolate at half time. It was a bit cold today.
  10. Nige was a fantastic motivator and manager and the players clearly enjoyed playing for him, as he really brought the best out of them. Now they are playing a different style of football and struggling. It really shows today.
  11. Lets be honest, today was poor. Poor goals to concede. Poor football on the pitch. I want to try and keep positive, but we do look like a mid table team, not top 6 like the higherups seem to believe. The players are trying but just missing that quality. Some quality in midfield, and a target man goal scorer needed.
  12. My thought's on the next 5 games are... that I will turn up, cross my fingers and hope for the best. Hopefully we will be picking up a few decent results as we go though the next lot of fixtures. Getting through the next lot of games without any more of our players getting injured will also be a bonus. Especially as we have a small squad, and a run of games really close together. Championship is to unpredictable to call sometimes.
  13. I have never had one myself, but I am not sure if I will like it anyway. Bit of a fussy eater personally, Might be the odd one out here.
  14. Thanks for sharing, always love seeing the old photos and footage of City.
  15. Really sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you and your family. Look after yourself.
  16. Yea really good points. I was wondering about Norwich too as they seem to be struggling now the premier league money is starting to run out. Millwall another one that really could be dragged into it too.
  17. I was doing some thinking on the coach on the way back from Southampton last night. It got me thinking how many really successful players have gone onto become really successful managers? IMO just because they were a great player doesn't necessary mean they will be a successful manager, (or head coach.) I know Pep has done a great job wherever he has gone, and Arteta at Arsenal. But a lot of really great players who have won multiple titles as a player struggled when making the transition to a manager. Looking at Rooney at Birmingham, obviously not doing so great at the moment, looking how Gary and Phil Neville got on when they went to Valencia, to coach and failed. Didn't Paolo Di Canio go to Swindon a few years back now? When you look at people like Eddie Howe, Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, who didn't have the most ground breaking playing career went onto become very good football managers. What's peoples thoughts?
  18. Its only November/ December tomorrow, one or two of the teams at the bottom could put a bit of a run together. QPR are not far off Huddersfield. Sheffield Wednesday got a point against Leicester last night. Plenty of turns to come yet I feel. The Championship is a strange but exciting league where on their day anyone, could beat anyone.
  19. On my way back from Southampton, I thought we had a fairy decent first half, and the second half the quality of Southampton came through. They have a lot of Premier league experience and are a decent side and I expect will be up in the playoffs at the end of the season. Teams have gone to St Mary's and performed worse than we did. Its early days only 3 games since Liam Manning took over. Onwards and upwards. COYR!!
  20. Good weekend of football. Watching football both on Saturday and Sunday at the gate.
