Match Report: Exhausted City's First Half Boro Assault
Leabrook replied to Olé's topic in Football Chat
Under Manning when we win we don’t win well enough it seems. -
If Pearson had done exactly the same thing the focus would be 100% on the result .
-
It might be like saying that in your head but it’s not in mine. Athletes aren’t allowed to take drugs. One of the worst analogies I’ve ever heard
-
I know it would have to be, that’s why I asked. I doubt it would be
-
Would that be enforceable by law? Seems unlikely Read my answer carefully and you will see I addressed your other questions.
-
Sorry not a mind reader. Removed and promoted aren’t exactly similar! Luton got promoted with a nett spend of pretty much zero over the two years before they went up. Proving you don’t need to spend loads and you don’t NEED parachute payments to do it. The style of play is irrelevant to this thread as we are talking about parachute payments. You come across very aggressive to people and weirdly seem to accuse other fans of coming up with the strategy.
-
Removed from what? The weird queries and questions continue from you
-
Fed up of people crying about it. Plenty of teams without parachute payments finishing top 10 over the last few seasons and some have gone up.
-
Disagree with Ian that the Boro game is more important than Forest. We can’t go up or down so let’s try to beat Forest and play Man United at home. More cash in the coffers and a potential giant killing. We aren’t going to get the two points per game needed to finish in the play offs and it’s impossible to get down so how is the Boro game more important? It’s one league game
-
Why are you asking me weird questions? Where have I said it would be acceptable? You do know I’m not Brian Tinnion don’t you ?
-
I said where I think we will finish not what the aim will be. The plan will be play offs.
-
Not seen two of them. SPH will be I reckon. tinnion suggests they will all be
-
Max, McCrorie, Vyner, Dickie, Atkinson, Pring, Knight, Bird, Sykes all have good experience at this level. We are going to make two signings a 9 and a 10 who sound like they will be more on the experienced side. It’s not too bad on that front. That’s 11 players and then TGH has decent experience as well.
-
You’ve left Stokes, Palmer-Houlden and Murphy off the list
-
Conway isn’t signing. Why would he? Can leave for more money and play for a better side and he knows we want a big strong striker in the summer
-
I would disagree we are going down if that’s the plan. It will be mid table ish, maybe a bit lower. But if we sign a good striker and 10 then it won’t be much different to this season really.
-
Coventry were 5th anyway. So just had to overhaul and stay as good. We have to overhaul and massively improve. Hull have done that but spent a lot more than we are.
-
And sorry for accusing me of making it up? Come on….bit of maturity would be nice
-
So we will lose 6/7/8 players but then already have Stokes, Murphy, Palmer-Houlden, Bird and maybe Medube in. Two strikers as well. So that’s pretty much all the outgoings covered already. Two strikers and maybe a left back if Pring goes as the only actual signings from here
-
Tinnion LOVES Adam Murphy. No doubt he will be in the squad next season and getting a lot of minutes
-
Just listened. It couldn’t be more obvious that Conway is off.
-
I don’t disagree but can any manager overhaul a squad and achieve play offs next season? A big ask that
-
goal at home to West Ham was good reaction. Goal away to West Ham showed his class. With one year left on contract we may well sell for £5-6m but with a longer contract he’s better than that. Look how many goals he scored when he used to get service. I think you underrate him
