  1. Haha talk about gilding the lily! " clenched fists violently gesturing" "swept up in a wave of violence" how sensational and a load of tripe. As nick j stated earlier if they wanted a fight they could have had one by easily running past the stewards, apart from some moronic coin throwing it was all harmless piss taking and posturing by excited kids after a derby win over our bitter rivals. You think I sound pathetic? Listen to yourself you come over like an hysterical old women.

Really derby games are not for you my old petal not with all those testosterone fuelled hoodlums running about, stick to your polishing and dream of the day you can sit side by side with gas fans singing sea shantys and sharing prawn sandwiches

I guess if it was all just a bit of fun, then there won't be any convictions then? We will have to wait and see on that score. It would be awful if some of those poor excited kids you talk about, had to be dragged away so early in the morning from they're cheerios for such a mild misdemeanor as being over excited as you say. Back in the real world though, I think your bleatings should be saved for someone who gives a damn! As far ad I'm concerned, if they're innocent they have nothing to worry about!
  2. How do you know if a players intent on being violent or not? Roy keane went out to intentionally 'do' alf Inge haaland did he not? Likewise how do you know who went to the game intent on causing trouble and who just got caught up in some aggro unintentionally?

Your just making daft sweeping statements about things you have no knowledge of.

Your polishing something mate but I don't reckon its a trophy.

When those supporters ran on the pitch with clenched fists violently gesturing toward the away end (as the cctv evidence i have seen supports) they were hell bent on causing trouble. Whereas I believe it would very difficult to prove, (even a player like Roy Keane) would enter the field intent on violence. Do you have any idea how pathetic you sound, these poor misguided fans just got Swept up in a wave of violence and just couldn't help themselves. There were thousands of decent people at the game that night, myself included that were able to control our Neanderthal instincts! I wonder how many of those idiots who unceremoniously had to skip breakfast thanks to our boys in blue, have previous? I am sure when they have they're day in court we'll find out how innocent they really are. Anyway, back to the brasso!
  3. If jet was to walk up to another player and punch him, then I would have no problem with him being banned. The problem for most football clubs as we all know is that it is extremely difficult to terminate a players contract. For me the point is when Jet enters the field of play, he is not intent on being violent. Whereas the low life you so pathetically support, had no other reason to be there than to cause trouble. This in a court of law makes a big difference. Anyway, i need to get back to polishing my 'fan of the year cup' and you can get back to hugging a hoodie!
  4. So if jet swings an elbow at an Oldham player and gets sent off for violent conduct you'll be happy to brand him a scumbag and have the full force of the law brought down on him including a lifetime ban from Ashton gate?

    Happy days.

Oh dear! Let's all feel sorry for the naughty boys, stupid enough to get caught on cctv doing naughty things. Look if the evidence proves individuals committed offences, then i and many other proper fans would rather they never set foot at the Gate again. Try not to worry yourself over it too much, it's not like they're friends of yours is it? I feel sure you wouldn't mix with such idiots!
  5. Well some innocent people have already been released without charge after being rudely awoken at 5am and carted off to the nick, so that sort of kills your first statement stone dead.

Some lads who did next to nothing are gonna get caught in the fallout and get done, the plod want results and they will get them, just like the Cardiff sketch. It seems the law now have sweeping powers to pretty much ban you for anything, can anyone explain why those charlton fans who were singing about Steven Lawrence, on a train, after a match had long finished be banned from football for 4 to 8 years?

I would imagine that those at the sharp end of the dawn raids were identified as being involved in some way or another. And just because they were released without charge, doesn't mean they won't be brought in for further questioning and charges pressed in the future. I and most normal people want the guilty prosecuted. So no need to get your knickers in a twist!
  6. In most sports rival fans can mingle before And after the match/event peacefully. The problem with football, is the higher proportion of morons it unfortunately attracts! I think the police walk a fine line between being either to heavy handed or not proactive enough in stamping out potential trouble. But I am happy that these idiots have been identified and shamed. I would like to think they will never be let in to a football match ever again, if they are found guilty of violent conduct etc. It is unfortunate that a misguided minority on here, seem to have some sympathy for these idiots. But like I say, football attracts all types!

  7. I think Monkeh is suggesting Basso waited for Weale to go before putting his own spanner in the works, i,.e, that Basso was complicit or scheming.

Monkeh.. ultimately, the board need to take the blame; the buck stops with them. it has been handled badly imo.

How can the club be to blame.....they offered him a new contract, what more could they have done. No one was really to blame, Basso just wanted to move on. Perhaps Bigger clubs were sniffing around, and he thought he might better himself. It would seem these were only rumours as when he became a free agent, nobody came in for him. Why does it always have to be someone's fault?

  8. i am genuinely sorry to hear that it seems many loyal fans will be unable to afford the ST price increases, but this is the world we live in. I also agree an earlybird scheme should have been implemented for loyal supporters. But you pay for what you get, i think the prices are a sad relection of the state of the game, players wages etc. However i agree with the price increases, and if the club are to compete at this level and attract good players, then prices are justified! I think the Premiership is a different kettle of fish (as stated in an earlier post) as attendance income is not so important when clubs recieve huge TV payments. Overall the prices seem to be in line with most other CC clubs.
