Yes I am too young to remember the days of fierce rivalry or when Rovers were doing better than city, but hasnt it now been 17yrs?

Yes but, they're still coming out with the same old stuff. So, they're going to get some. They tried to pull the rug out from under our feet when we were in trouble, by trying to get Ashton Gate on the cheap. They portray themselves as the family club, with the help of the local media and paint everything BCFC as the bad boys and all things evil. The reality is, they are the biggest bunch of lying, cheating, conniving, low life, devious, scum, I've ever had the displeasure of coming across, and I should know, I've been targeted by the green party when the plans for AV were going through.

I'm not gas, infact even though I do hate them, you lot sure do talk about them dontcha? **** me 26,890 posts!! (including this one) Surely an OTIB record.

Amazes me that I can remember when this was page 1, only 2yrs ago. Why so obsessed folks?

They are lower than us, have a circus tent stadium, bizarre fans with 6 fingers on each hand that seem to think they are barca.... We should be washing our hands off these scumbags already and start thinking of out next rivals....  the Cardiff munters!

If you took some of the shit us older ones had from them over the years and, without too much reason, you'd have a warm feeling in your belly and be a little more interested in their troubles/demise, if that's what it is. They can count themselves lucky they had the resources and a stay of execution, by bringing in a manager that knew the non league scene and, what it took to kick and cheat their way out of it.

This is where the whole situation is a bit odd. The mortgage / loan, whatever, used to buy Rovers came from himself and / or the family. The interest payments seem to be going back to himself / the family via Dwane Sports, or possibly used to cover some of the  losses. (Perhaps someone else could give a more accurate summary). He hasn’t got the option of putting Rovers into administration to clear the debt as then it is the creditors who lose money and he / his family are the main creditors. But, as you say, with each interest payment it gets worse and he moves into negative equity  - i e the value of the asset is less than the total loan

As he /family own the asset, all they'd have to do is sell it to repay the debt to themselves. As they are the only creditor, it only affects them. So administration is their get out clause (if need be), and their hands are tied, they have to sell. Or that's what they will/could say.

The longer this goes on, the more I realise how clever Nick Higgs was and how deluded Wael is. Nick Higgs managed to convince Wael that Rovers had a watertight contract with Sainsbury, a new ground was a certainly, megabucks payback was a certainty and he managed to offload the club to him. Normally when there is a takeover of any kind, there is a period of due diligence where the finances of the organisation being taken over are examined in detail. Nick Higgs obviously used the bullsh*t baffles brains technique so that Wael didn’t bother to check the detail

I'm not certain but, I think he was even more clever when he sold his shares in Cowlin's, to Balfour Beatty for an increased value, because, Cowlin's had the contract to redevelop the Rugby Ground and appeared a good acquisition. Only for the club he also had shares in (which were given to him) to then cancel the redevelopment, in favour of the UWE.  Or perhaps he was just lucky.

Yes, she went back in and finished her drink by all accounts.

    Vodka martini, shaken not stirrup.

She's partial to a double White Horse whisky, the police tried fobbing her off with a Black Horse and she was having none of it, Pretty soon the Bells were ringing and she had a bit of a Grouse which was Dewar, the rider was Jame son and she had to do a Walker, before hers Teacher saw her.

    Coat got and leaving.

Not like them to get there hopes up . I expect there will be plenty of opposition. This is Bristol after all

So it is all bullshit then. This meeting was instigated by the opposition, who think that dialogue with the club/owners will get them a better deal for their area. The club/ owners representatives met the opposition and listened to the oppositions wish list about revenue streams for the "new stadium" who told them that they are (considering) building a new stadium and that if it's built, it will be self funding. So, apart from meeting the representatives from the area, at their request, who still refer to it as the Memorial Ground, nothing has happened. Local media non story, to keep the blue hordes happy, unless I've read the info wrong.

    MEMORIAL GROUND REDEVELOPMENT

I have a friend who lives near to the Mem and apparently the word on the street is that the BRFC directors have been holding meetings with the near neighbours and the groups who were opposed to the previous developments to try and get them onside. So the plan is to redevelop the ground one stand at a time in the same way that has been done at Ashton Gate and they want to go for a capacity of 17,000-20,000. They said that it will be self-funded so there will be no need to have hotels, student accommodation, etc. on the site to finance it. Residents are concerned with the transport infrastructure but they haven't got a solution to that yet ... although I heard they want to encourage everyone to come by bike instead of driving ... it could mean that a bike tent could be included in the plans! They said that after spending all that money on the Mem they would be able to compete in the Championship but if they ever got to the Premiership, then they would have to abandon the ground and start all over again somewhere else. I had a quick look on their forums and it doesn't look as though they have let the fans know anything about it yet ... so maybe yet another scoop for OTIB! A shame that their fans have to come here to find out what is going on with their own club.

Self funded eh? Clever stuff that.

I believe they are going through the motions to keep their fans happy through a transitional period. The Jordanians won't invest the £40-60m required to rebuild all four stands, only to end up with a ground under 20k. So it looks like an exercise in puffing up the club to any potential mug, sorry, buyer.

In fairness, by comparison, isn't their new disabled enclosure the very highest end of design, construction & style...?

I don't think it's fair to compare the two structures. Santa's Grotto was a prefabricated building, (former ticket booth) and the all weather disabled area, is an architect designed bespoke structure.

That's another improvement ticked off Wally's list.

This ground improvement malarkey is easy

I quoted them £1500 for that, they must have got someone cheaper. It always pays to get three quotes, and don't always go for the cheapest, as you might get a crap job. Evidently they have some really tall carers.

yeah not too bad when you consider we always lose there.

I don't think it's too bad, considering it will be the second away match within a few days, midweek and at a place we traditionally are less successful at. Collectively over 4,000 between two games, which aint cheap.

Obviously a lot of speculation as to what is going on with them, but what amazes me more than the lack of clarity from the club, is the lack of organisation and questioning from their fans.

Would imagine if we were on the mushroom diet action groups and fans representatives would be hammering on the door to get some answers.

They've had a closed shop for some years now,  not allowed to question or you're shouted down and accused of being a shytehead.

Same with their friendly local newspaper, run by gasheads for gasheads. Any bad news is surpressed and any good stories are blown out of proportion.

I can't believe this; I'm actually feeling sorry for them.

Not ******* like Henbury Gas obviously; but the decent fans. the ones I've known at work.

The club is being filleted like a mackerel and they can do nothing about it.  They are nine months from administration or sale and that will mean Division Four and a ground share again.

They're ******; and they thought it was a new dawn.  One team in Bristol is ringing true.

    Surely not!

They have a new owner who's going to take them to the promised land, in Dwaynes World.

The Land Registry shows that title does rest with Dwane Colony Ltd another Jersey company with nominee shareholders.

When I called their Saint Helier office to ask if the beneficial owners were Dwane Al-Qadi and The Mindbenders the response was...

"Um, Um, Um ,Um, Um, Um

That was Edwayne Star LTD along with, 25 miles from home.

Strange to commit to a purchase without knowing if you can get what you want.

Could be that the directors are the original owners and they get their dividends when/if it realises potential.

As you say, the charge on the land is in another name.

Could someone explain why the statutory records of Terramond Developments Ltd show a mortgage charge, in favour of Lloyds TSB,  still outstanding on land they used to own at Colony Farm, Hortham Lane, Almondsbury, Bristol.

No one would be daft enough to buy a piece of land without first ensuring any previous mortgage was paid off ........  would they ?

When they broke the news about their new training facility at the colony, they said they'd "acquired it". That to me sounds as if they'd not,  bought it, but, maybe, agreed a lease.

In a later story by the evening post, the reporter (not the club) stated that they had bought it.

The reality is that, although the colony had previously gained planning permission, for training facilities and changing rooms. That wouldn't be anywhere near what is required for an academy. There were also some restrictions on its use, I think it was a timed restriction where the land was not to be used before 6pm during school term time, so, 39 weeks of the year, during normal school hours it couldn't be used. Perhaps they plan to train at night.

Surely nobody in their right mind would buy that land without first getting PP, would they? Is it in the company assets?

Again land registry could confirm, if there's someone with access to the site through work, they could check. I'm not paying, not even for the pleasure of proving a point.

"Out of respect for the local community, we will not begin work until official approval has been granted"

Well that's bloody decent of them! Nothing to do with it being the law..?!

The club have released a statement about their proposed new training facilities at Almondsbury, which might get category 2 status and will be known as the "Colony". Probably where colonic irrigation will take place, to remove the shyte.

The statement is in response to questions asked in various quarters (probably the world famous quarters) about what the hell is happening.

The answer is:  "**** all is happening". They are still supposedly waiting for a response from the council about their proposals.

That's it then!                                BLAME THE COUNCIL.
