  1. I didn’t say they had, just ‘under review’. We shall see, but can’t say I’m optimistic as there are quite a few local spikes.
  2. Doncaster races behind closed doors for rest of week, and plans for trialing fans at sport ‘under review’. Once Dominic has decided, that useless pipsqueak of a sports minister will tell us. Not looking good at all But please cram onto public transport to go to your offices!
  3. Can’t say I’ve got much enthusiasm for this, for me the important thing is being at the game. A TV League with no crowd holds little appeal. If we do go up, I hope City refund ST monies for all un-watched games and refund the cost of my Forest ticket. They’ll be telling us how many millions it’s worth, we’ll they can do the right thing by the fans before handing vast riches to the players. All a bit surreal really, play offs with no fans? Sorry, that’s just so wrong. Even though it doesn’t help City, I’d rather just promote the top 3 and be done with it. Has nobody worked out what will happen on final day?
  4. Of course, we could always close tax loopholes, stop bailing out tax avoiders, and use that revenue to protect community assets and other businesses adversely affected by the virus. PL players could donate a portion of their salaries to help struggling clubs.
  5. You want to communicated as an adult? Have you not been watching the series of inept half-wits doing the daily BS? There is absolutely no hope of them ever doing anything in a mature fashion, as the incompetents battle between the economy and lives, and continue ignoring credible science or experiences elsewhere. Let’s not forget - Highest death rate in Europe, despite being an island and one of the last Countries affected.
  6. Personally, I think that the one thing this useless Government has done well is allowing exercise. Most have been sensible, and the mental and physical benefits far outweigh any risk. The people committing serious breaches would have done this anyway, as we don’t have the resource to police it. Some shops are finding creative ways around the lockdown mainly as there is absolutely no leadership, no plan, endless spin and contradictory messages.
  7. Very British, look like we are going to have the highest death toll in Europe, despite having a chance to learn from Italy, so we blame the Chinese!
  8. Of course it won’t be happening soon, way too many issues to allow a quick restart, not least the problem if a member of club staff tests positive. Also issues with contracts expiring 30 June, survival of clubs, lack of income for closed door games etc.
  9. End season now, and try and find a way to deal with promotion/ relegation that avoids legal challenges. Doubt that it’s realistic to rush it, hold play offs etc. Just reading about rugby, big issue with contracts as extending beyond 30 June would represent a restraint of trade, plus some clubs will be happy to see players released on that date for financial reasons. Has to be a huge degree of reality and pragmatism. There will also be a number of clubs in the League who may never re-start due to bankruptcy.
  10. Carry on. Hancock denied what was said. Piers proved he was lying. Hancock squirmed. And you want people like this in charge of a major crisis?
  11. In other words he lied and you’d rather not admit it. how can we have any faith in chancers like him to mitigate the impacts of this crisis if he’s prepared to blatantly lie like this.
  12. Slight flaw is that the Italians have been warning us to act quickly for weeks, and the WHO advice is about fast action, testing and social distancing. We seem to have woken up too late, and the NHS will shortly be swamped.
  13. Not the time for this Brexit stuff. The U.K. needs to work closely with other Countries right now, noting that the EU Countries are pooling resources, data and information. We should be putting our pride to one side and joining that, after all, putting a flag on your FB status and saying ‘we won’ gives you zero immunity. Economies will crash badly, the World is in crisis, so how can we even begin worrying about trade deals? And how did individual EU Countries close their borders? I thought we had lost control of ours?? Remember, Brexit is about our last priority right now.
  14. Agree re Brexit, but the U.K. needs to grow up rapidly. Brexit is irrelevant, we need to work as closely as possible with other Countries, sharing resources, data and information. We have no idea what mess economies will be in by the end, so no point thinking about trade deals. Politically, it’s very clear that Johnson is way out of his depth and totally the wrong man for the job. It’s not Johnson or Corbyn as many believe, we just need a cross party effort pooling the best talents, led by somebody who is not divisive, and is capable of rational decision making.
  15. Rather a lot of clubs will be in financial dire straits by then. If there is no definite date for re-starting, I doubt that many clubs will be able to afford to offer new contracts.
  16. Interestingly, the EU is planning a major equipment pooling effort, plus sharing information and data. Whatever your views on Brexit, it’s a great pity that we are not part of this.
  17. I was planning to go to Chernobyl in two weeks time.... Could not face Blackburn though
  18. Must confess that I expected slightly more than no over-70’s on cruises and no school trips for the ‘Delay’ phase.
  19. We can certainly agree on this. Certainly didn’t want panic measures, but this just comes across as hopelessly complacent and inadequate.
  20. But the scientific evidence seems to be that it’s much harder to catch in the open air than in enclosed indoor spaces. You either want to delay it or you don’t.
  21. Seems to be a case of doing something to grab headlines rather than the right thing. The economic argument re public transport is illogical, as you either want to delay it or not, all measures have economic consequences. I would suggest that Elwood Park is much lower risk than packed public transport. Then of course there are the Euros, worst time to hold them across Europe with plenty of travelling.
  22. Ukraine closing schools and any gatherings of 200 people plus, yet they have only had one case. Due to go there in two weeks to visit Chernobyl!
  23. Was listening to Piers Moron this morning, what a complete tool. Scaremongering of the highest order and wanting all the big futile gestures rather that a pragmatic approach. Pity our media can’t get as worked up about the deaths due to DWP reforms and austerity.
  24. Just Google Hong Kong flu, a pandemic in 1968, very similar to this, minus the panic, press and bog roll hoarding. There have been a few flu strains over the years, Spanish flu in 1918 being the worst. Just seems to be a natural occurrence, but nowadays we have 24/7 media to scare us.
  25. Personal choices, hopefully I’m off to Chernobyl in 3 weeks, that should zap any virus!
