  1. Don't quite get the constant bashing on here over FGR. They're trying to do the right thing, which affects every single person alive today, and future generations. Other clubs with disgustingly large budgets should be ashamed that they'd rather spend £100m on players but not try to be the leading force for green football, but instead it's a low league club that's leading the way by some distance. Sure, it isn't going to solve global warming, but as a collective effort, it'll absolutely help, and other clubs from overseas might try and follow suit. Gotta start somewhere! Fair play to FGR once again.
  2. Can't help but think they're cutting their nose off to spite their face with this. I get trying to stamp out people going on the pitch, however, it happens at the end of the season, rightly or wrongly. There's not usually any malice and it's usually been a tradition to do at your last home game of the season. Getting your child involved, we've seen this creep in this season, with kids trying to run on the pitch, encouraged by their parent to get a players shirt, which I find really cringe, along with holding up signs etc, but it's still harmless. Doesn't deserve a lifetime ban IMO. Far worse offences go on at games.
  3. Whilst I don't rate him as a manager, please do elaborate on the so-called 'myth' of him being an outstanding player? The stats speak for themselves as evidence to back that up.
  4. Maybe in the hope that it makes a few of them think about knuckling down and doing the job they're paid to do, at an acceptable standard rather than the below par performances many of the players put in?

    Wtf is simba cam?! ?
  6. Easy tiger! Why the hatred??? It's only forest green ?
  7. Thought him and Atkinson were absolutely brilliant today. We have to sign him up for another season with an option for an additional year, so long as his demands aren't too high, always feel like he has a really calm head, no matter the situation. Very much needed especially with some of the younger players being around him.
  8. How did VAR miss the headbutt and hairpulling?? Genuine question.
  9. @Silvio Dante exactly, but now I'll call it out. Invasion of privacy? ?? No no, just don't see why people push an agenda for X amount of time, then change their name, pushing same agenda, as make it out like 'wow, there's now loads calling for X person's head', trying to drum up whatever narrative they're trying to push. And you're a liar regarding name change/new account and have been called out on it previously, so let's not go down that road, or is it pure coincidence your letters stand for 'The artist formerly known as Ralph milnes left foot'? If you've got an opinion, great! Stick by your guns (and username) and own it, and when challenged, that's when a debate can be had. But if you get called out on it because you've had a vendetta against our current manager, because of us signing a player, which has triggered past experiences, then that needs to be owned aswell (and for the record, I wasn't happy with the signing either but I didn't want the manager to be ousted because of it). Since that signing, he can do no right, even when we win in some people's eyes..
  10. Really would help if people could see previous usernames so people can be held accountable for things they've previously said. It keeps coming up, can it be a 'thing'? @TomF There's a few of them on here who frequently change their username (Ralph Milne instantly springs to mind) and come out of the woodwork whenever we've not won due to their vendetta against the manager , spouting utter drivel and trying to stir up shit & negativity on here. No one is saying the football or quality is great, but given what he's had to work with (the square root of **** all) compared to previous managers, we'd be in a heck of a lot worse spot than we are now. Fans demanding success when not grasping the realisation of the crap we're in. It wasn't long ago when there was talk of a points deduction because of us failing FFP so badly. Yet people think we should be buying/signing loads in the summer, having a full on rebuild? We lack quality. We pay extortionately high wages, with a poor return. Not sure what some of these blinkered fans expect, other than blood it seems.

    West Ham

Due to the cat kicking moron they've got, and West Ham's response by playing him immediately after the incident, rather they get stuffed every week tbh.
  12. Christ there's some right sassy gits in here isn't there ?
  13. Awful news Al, so sorry for your loss ?
  14. Maybe that might be too strong, however look at some of the other 'big' clubs around us. Be careful what you wish for. The horror of a new man coming in and changing our colours from Red to blue like Cardiff did (blue to red) is never, ever worth a small stint in the prem. SL has caused us problems, but he's also dipped his hand in his pocket a heck of a lot, a lot through his own fault mind you.
  15. ?????? Absolutely this. Expecting a massive change or turn around, when we're in a position unlike any other, off the back of a pandemic which has caused us huge losses (even more so than usual!) therefore we have no funds to go out and make vast changes and improvements. Ours fans are like all other football fans though, some can't see the bigger picture and want success, understandably so, don't we all. But **** me, the club has been left a mess and with piss poor management from the very top. SL as much of a saviour he is, he's also wasted an awful amount of money which has been poorly invested in the squad. Recruitment is key this summer, but with no funds, it's going to be incredibly difficult. As for the comment of "Nige has been given more time than most"... Bloody right too! We're not Watford, constantly changing manager. LJ overstayed for sure, by a couple of years IMO, but it's right you give the manager time, if you can see progress. I've seen progress in lots of areas, some still need improving massively (conceding late goals is a real problem).
  16. Jeez, it's the same old posters that literally have a meltdown if we lose one game. Gets tiring having to defend and highlight the difficulties Pearson has had, which were imbedded deep within the squad/club long before he arrived. The season is a marathon, not a sprint, and we all knew we needed to survive til the summer, which looks like he has now done, so he can clear out a lot of the shite, and if possible, bring fresh faces in. He's played loads of youngsters, which will always lead to inconsistent, poor results. They're young, they'll learn, in time. It also gives Pearson chance to see who can handle the pressure, perform well etc. The call for his head whenever we lose a game is down right embarrassing. Who in earth do we think we are? Seriously, we've got a manager in charge who is trying to instil the right attitude, which for too long has previously stunk at this club. It's never going to happen overnight, especially if he can't get rid of the deadwood/bad eggs. There isn't a single manager out there that would be able to perform better given the shit state the club was in when Pearson joined, along with having zero money to spend due to FFP.
  17. Thanks for clarifying. Learn something new everyday!
  18. So why then when the ref puts down his spray for a free kick, he marks where the ball should be, then a line for the players, they shouldn't cross the line drawn for them, and the ball shouldn't cross the line for the free kick? (if you're still with me!) So often the ball isn't on the line. But hey, it's a tiny issue in comparison to what is actually wrong with football, but still irks me!
  19. Slightly related but something that irrationally irritates me... Corners. More specifically, wtf is it with players being allowed to take it from OUTSIDE the corner circle markings?
  20. A few fans watching a game on a stream is definitely NOT the reason why the club can't afford new players...
  21. Not just the championship, football in general needs salary caps. It could be structured, so obviously higher salaries in the prem, but it all needs to be proportionate with the other leagues, and realistic. Sadly, the key word being realistic, means it just won't happen. It'll rock the boat too much. If all the clubs have been essentially gambling in the championship, you'd think the teams would all agree on a wage cap. The message is a little watered down when it's only when a club is in trouble with the league over finances, will they then speak up. SL should've been calling for a wage cap, screaming from the rooftops, for years, and trying to rally all the other teams to do the same. It's no good asking for a cap now that we're in trouble...
  22. Anyone else slightly worried about the club and next season? Pearson is absolutely the right man for us, but I worry that JL or SL ego will **** this up. They need to be told some home truths, by a proper football manager, not a yes man. We're told that we might get a points deduction next season due to our financial situation, yet we're underachieving this season?! It's likely we'll sell our best players, which would mean we're possibly less attractive to watch, as we need to build a team around our best players, not sell them. And if we sell them, I worry Pearson won't want to stick around any longer. Which really would put us back to square one, with no decent talent and no decent manager to sort the crap out. And the club seemingly cutting 15 mins out of a press conference because they don't want what NP said to be aired? The fans want real insight, not propaganda from the club, trying to paint a rosey picture. This is why many of us trust Nige to sort us out. Problem is, mot so many trust he'll get the backing.
  23. Jordan has a point whether you like him or not. Having a business model which sets your player wages to be around 90% turnover and living on the edge, thinking you can bring through youth and sell for profit all the time, eventually it'll fail, which is what we're seeing (added with the extra pressure of COVID) Let's not pretend player's aren't the issue here, because they are. Their wages are astronomical. We've got Wells on the bench every game earning over a million pounds a year. No wonder we're in the shit. Palmer, stealing a living. Players that were signed a few seasons back on crazy salaries, for which we might pay the price for next season. Edit - one thing to add, this does highlight the need to scrap the unfair parachute payments. Fulham have the best striker in the league, reportedly earning £60/70k a week, but they can do so due to the payments from being in the Prem. Clubs wouldn't strive so hard just to try and remain competitive if the parachute payments didn't exist imo.
