By a country mile, Bentley is a better goalkeeper than O'Leary.
He’s a better shot stopper, yes. Shit scared to come off his line. One of the reasons we have conceded goals from crosses.

Good OP @robinforlife2.
My very simplistic (because I’ve done chapter and verse elsewhere on other occasions) thoughts on the squad are:
if you gave 15(ish) Championship quality players, if you then compare a team with the best 11 (lob off the worst 4) of those 15 to a team with the worst 11 (lob off the best 4), how different do those two teams look. Considerably!! And that’s what we are seeing through injury / loss of form…a weakened unit because those 4 that come in aren’t anywhere near the 4 that aren’t available. Keep the best 4 and perm the 7 from 11 and you get by.
Essentially I’m saying we have a small number in that 15 who can raise the levels of others, but in the sane breath, when those 4/5/6 aren’t players the rest aren’t capable of raising each other. We can pick off players one at a time and say they’re Champ level (which they are), but it’s who you put them with that makes them.
Spot on, we are also missing IMO a true leader on the pitch, The Hartley type, Roy Keene figure.

Based on what..? Which of NP's signings give you any confidence that he'd have done much better with those funds at his disposal..?
Yes, obviously I know he's been limited with transfer funds - but the OOC market is massive now & all summer we were told we'd got the players that he wanted.
Some clubs are going to get the likes of Wells, Massengo, Bentley, Dasilva, Kalas off us for free, in the not too distant future.
Does his record here give you any confidence that he's going to improve on what we've got here at the moment..?
Nailsmith, Tanner, James, Atkinson.

I would say so, yes. They are 1 point above the relegation zone.
What they have done is make a managerial change to address that.
Their choice is a risky one, but a very astute one, I'd say.
I'd replace NP with Michael Carrick in heartbeat.
No all top players make good managers. Look at Steve Gerrard.

May have played there the odd time before but this falls firmly at the door of Pearson.
Not the odd game though. Hes quality but just not on it today nor has been since his return.

Im thinking 4231 with Williams dropping back in 4, and Conway/Weimann playing as the wider forwards who have good work rate and can track back to help. Gives Pring and Vyner license to move forward
Semenyo and Weimann out wide

I think there's a lot more to it than that. For example Semenyo (who is Premier League quality when he's in the groove) has temporarily lost his golden touch.
I thought he was okay until the crucial moments which is the story of his recent form.
The ones that hit the woodwork were pretty speculative efforts and Semenyo slipped when he took the shot.
Is Semenyo distracted by the World Cup or a move way? Or is he not 100 fit yet?

Very Good defending and a clean sheet. James is important for us. Well done City!
Yes, he is, however we need to find a replacement before his legs a go go

The comparison to O’Driscoll is the negative speech I hear in pre/post match interviews, limiting our expectations and ambition based on said the size of our club …our finances in comparison to others…being “realistic”
Clubs we have competed with at League 1 level in the last 20 years have been promoted to the championship before us , promoted to the premier league , experienced back to back relegations Blackpool, Wigan…Luton went all the way back to the conference, hell Rotherham look as likely as us to compete or better this season.
treading water for decadesGary Johnson took us from League one for 7 years to a Championship play off final in 3 years…with belief
Pearson is unfortunately and I want him to succeed not inspiring the fan base and in turn the players to be ambitious for this club, he has unearthed, improved and polished some great young players but clubs like us need a spark rather than a sensible head in my opinion,
LJ was sacked because we weren’t breaking in the top 6 …Pearson has been in the top 6 with us once in 3 years…for 5 days
We need to dream again not be “realistic “

Nathan Jones
Garry Rowett
The difference is money. I’d stick instead of twist TBH. The grass isn’t always greener. Yes a difficult period right now, look at the positive. Burnley were the only team so far this season who played us off the park.

I thought at the time Kalas was already committed to the jump when Max shouted.
For me Kalas jumped after the call instead of blocking the opposition. Although after watching the highlights, I’m surprised Max tried to catch it. Like the 1st goal poor reaction on the second phase.

For me on Wednesday night he had a poor 1st half, much improved 2nd. Yes undoubtedly a great talent and has all the attributes you need and some. Not 100% AS yet. I said to my Nephew, if he was 100 % those defenders would of been ragged dolled 1st half. A game or 2 more and he’ll be back to his best.

Hope your right Dave. As he’s not looked the same since injury. Holding back for the World Cup, Jan move comes to mind, however don’t think he’s that type of pro.
