The John Ward team of 1997/98 and Nathan Baker will be honoured at half-time during the game against Watford.

    ℹ️ JOHN WARD TEAM REUNION

In the 1997/98 season Bristol City achieved promotion to the second tier of the football league.

And on Saturday, which sees the Robins against the team that they shared promotion with during that season, there will be a pitch parade and presentation at the start of half-time.

We welcome back: Keith Welch, Mark Shail, Gary Owers, Rob Edwards, Tommy Doherty, Brian Tinnion, Steve Torpey, Shaun Goater, Scott Murray, Shaun Taylor and their manager John Ward.

WOW what a team that was, Mark Shail and Shaun Taylor twoi of my favourites.

  2. All i want to say is that i think Richard has done a great job at the club. I understand it was a position in cricket that he could not say no to. Good luck with your new job Richard. I understand you will still be with us during the January window. So try and pull off a major deal for us. lastly Steve i hope you have learned a lesion and don't go back and employee someone like you know who. I think he still works at Ipswich.

  3. For the past few years i have thought to try and and get some constant level of play, is a constant captain. A captain who is not afraid to shout, bully, grab fellow players by the neck when needs must. A Shaun Taylor, a John Terry,   Billy  Bremner  type captain. Someone is not scared of upsetting  fellow team mates or management. I bet Nigel wishes he was playing in our defence/team.

  4. If he puts four forwards on with 10 minutes to go, as i have seen on here.. Just watched a Sky football programme when he was manager at Carlisle United. With seconds to go of the season they were going out the league. He got the goalkeeper to go up for a corner. The goalkeeper name was Jimmy Glass, the rest as they say is history. Worth watching as Nigel was starting his managers career.
