  1. I'm on hoilday so I'm afford the time. Haha.. I'm pretty sure some plank will nibble at my respone also - even tho Im pointing out (right now) that my response was very much tough in cheek .However there is truth in my post.
  2. Haha ..... Haha.... Haha.....Hahahahaha! I love abit of banter on here from time to time but on a very serious note - the way some of your mob really do believe your very own hype is cringeworthy! Your in the best position out of any south west club for now, and are the biggest. But the above statement is well....haha.
  3. I never made any statements in the post.Rather I said we were still in the hunt for the playoffs, which despite last night's result we still are - even tho it's unlikely.
  4. How is he a self proclaimed billionaire? BRFC were run like a conference south level side or below from the day we left Eastville. Our days at Bath while successful saw other clubs get new stadiums ,training grounds and general investment while we got tents and temporary toilets! When we moved back to Bristol we never moved forward and were slowly dying as a club - first by dropping into league two in 2001 and then again in 2010? and then falling into non league in 2014. Wael and our new owners have come in and made modest improvements to the Mem.Improved our PR department, signed a better shirt deal and Written off our debts. We have also now got a proper scouting network in place.A medical team instead of poor old phil.Experts in at board level to tackle marketing,as well a team to reach a deal with the UWE.And the training ground has already started being built. Wael has spent money but In a wise way, and as it's be stated it's - evolution not revolution. We don't have the infrastructure yet in place to spend millions but we a building that. Not at knock at your club but the mistakes that SL has made over the years including up until this very day has cost him millions as you didn't have the tools to do the job at times over the years.
  5. That is complete bollox! You keep telling yourself that and living a pipe dream that we will always be in your shadow, when we are now a far better run club then you are. Wally as you call him has made no random predictions that we will be in the premiership within X amount of time or, like your manager saying you could be playing in European football within 5 years.Or saying he will spend millions on £9million strikers...Unlike your owner he just gets on with his job without making himself look like damm tool..! "The Wally" has done more to the infrastructure of our club in his first year then pantysdown did for your club within his first decade, regardless of money the latter spent! The Ashton gate rebuild has only happened in the last year and is his only legacy. As for Taylor being the reason where we are hahahaha... He was important to us,but was far from being the reason why we are where we are! Nine unbeaten since he has left and scoring goals after DC making adjustments.Still very much in the hunt for the playoffs with planning for next season well underway.
  6. To be fair for our crowds to be 9,000 plus avg in the wreck thats called the Mem shows our potential for growth in a new stadium. In league one at the UWE our avg would be somewhere between 11k and 15k depending how we were doing. In the Championship in the UWE we could pull anywhere between 13k - 19k depending on where we were in the table, whom we were playing etc..
  7. Fair play to yourself for that response. I always thought for early league/fa cup games you got around the 5k/6k figure which would have been understandable.
  8. I think like most football clubs the gas have some ******* brain dead idiots. In fact some of the chants after the barrow game from 'our faithful and true' were embarrassing. As soon as Wael took over some gasheads started to give it some big un - (But come on,we have had to put up with some grade, A shit talking from your mob over the years.. even Ive read some on this thread today) so at the time some gasheads had there release. Wael and his family are very, very rich people and have business minds and the contacts to get us to the premiership given time. You are lucky to have lansdown.I just believe you as a club would be much closer to where you should be aiming for if it wasn't for his ego and reckless spending in the past. As for hear say about the UWE.. I don't buy into rumours and the like about the uwe or anything. As if its rumoured that the grounds not happening, gasheads go into meltdown, some of your mob get off on it. Under wael I'm 99.5% sure BRFC will be playing in a new stadium,be it at the UWE or elsewhere in the championship within 5 years.
  9. See what you have done is made yourself look like a 2nd prize blonker and gone on a un- needed, anti gas rant! I wasn't talking about a 'league' game.I stated that playing "yesterdays game against Fleetwood in an very uninspiring fa cup game, with you in terrible form against a club from a lower than league than yourselfs, would not have drawn 10k at the old ashton gate yesterday. This is actually a praise for your club for how you have grown since the new AG opening. Your club much like most others including the gas, draw less for these ties.In games like yesterday you would had drawn 5,000,6,000 maybe 7,000 but not a 10k. I'm just stating how a new ground can improve crowds of all types. If I'm wrong - I will willingly hold my hands up.
  10. I know this is a wind up post wanting a bite, but it's very hard to gauge respective crowds until we are in the UWE. For example - this past year we have had ... for the first time ever! someone at board level that wants to take us places, and have the funds and contacts to do this -and our gates have rised to a season avg of over 8k last season, and a current avg of 9.2k so far this season. The mem is shocking.....truely shocking and even tho old ashton gate was a palace compared to the mem and it puts off many people going. It's not a knock at you,but you wouldn't have got 10k for yesterday's game two seasons ago before the rebuild.A new ground,or a rebuild like yours helps every club that gets one. Look at Swansea, Hull, reading Wigan etc... they all have increased,if not double the crowds once in new arenas and all were getting the same or less at home the we were before relegation in 2014. Rovers in the UWE would see a huge increase in there drawling power, just like every club does.We have never - as fans been afforded good facilities or investment like you have with lansdown or Davidson etc. The next 5 years once in the UWE will see what BRFC could really do.
  11. What a stupid post. Weal has cleared our debts,is in the process of buying/brought land for our training ground and has been able keep our best ever manager and our best player which we have never been able to do before! From day one Weal has said about building our club from the ground up.If we started throwing money about like lansdown did at city in years gone by while we are still at the Mem we will be screwed.Fair play for lansdown for spending £50 million on a bristol club, but he did it before City were ready and had the foundations to support it eg: Ashton gates rebuild and it's the same with us at the Mem. As for us having a 'conference side' .... you sound like one of those moaners that go to the mem and would rather see a poor BRFC then any successful one,and now have a bee in your bonnet because we have had 2 and a half great years. These are the people that have to play the victim and would rather have dunceford and higgs still here as there was a clear enemy/ disease in our club at the time and can't get over, or accept that we are now progressive club and are no longer 'ragbag Rovers' - well not in the long term. DC has made a couple of mistakes in the loan system this season, but that "conference" side that also got promotion last season, and has us with a very good sniff of the playoffs with 20 games to go this term and that is ok by me. Just for the record, I think that if we were to go up this year then we would be more than likely to come back down straight away. But if clubs like Burton,Rotherham, wigan ,brentford and to a lesser extent - preston can survive in the championship in years gone by on the same crowds that we would get in the mem ...why not get up when we can?
  12. How do you know I never served 50 gasheads? Are you following me? You don't know where I worked, nor what area of bussiness this was in so it's pretty random to be scandalous and call me a liar. I've just done a recount and 50 would be a min number.Couldnt put names to all faces, but I know I'm telling the truth. I also grew up in horfield, just off lockleaze road. Ok you can pick on details and percentages which was just a general statement. Its like saying bedminster or ashton is 99% city even though there are gasheads living there but in small numbers. My original point was pointing out that people on here are saying city now have more fans in places like kingswood etc is quite, silly.
  13. I'm sorry but you are wrong, just wrong.Kingswood is 99% Gas even with comment about the younger generation - just like Bedminster in 99% City. There's always pockets of both sides in each others historical heartlands but let' use tinted colour glasses glaze over the truth.. Until a year and a half ago I used to live, and work in knowle.Just off the top of my head I can count 50 gasheads that I used to serve at my old job daily that I got to know through banter and the same number of city fans as well.Does that mean knowle is now Gas land? Of course not. I've always said that if you asked the football fans that live in the Bristol area which football team that they support I think City would have 25/30k fans and Rovers would have 23/28k.That does not mean that these people go to games, but if asked they follow one of the two bristol clubs as there first choice club and that are spread through out our fine city of ours. Let's use some common sense and logic here.
