To translate into football terms, football management would be the methodology, and coaching would be a process - and there’s no one signing cowboys who don’t have evidence of coaching through their recognised coaching qualifications. Theres only one company in the world who I can think of that seemingly have no formal internal process, and that’s Valve. They don’t need to, because the Steam platform makes them billions through its mere existence. Even your mate Elons Tesla will have a tonne of processes and methodology that it follows.

While I don’t think it’s fair on him, I think the wider point is, as with any job on the planet, if your relatively inexperienced in a role, your not really in a strong position to enact any/all the deviations you’d like from the strategy set from above. I guess it all depends on his remit. Do I think he’ll tolerate being told who to pick, no probably not. Do I think there’s other areas where he’ll acquiesce to those above, yes. I think you’d have to be a massive “name” to do otherwise with the latter in the modern game.

Maybe he’s an absolute nobody, but sod it, I’ll give the guy a year of full support at a minimum- that’s 2 windows and ample time to improve what is a squad that should be top* *As stated by the hierarchy.

He’s lying, because the only person Ian Gay finds exciting, is himself. And while I think the club is run by absolute morons, they aren’t moronic enough to appoint that guy.

Not sure he was the “same” player after injury. Very much the case with O’Dowda also, although it could also be that LJ coached the flair out of them.

Problem with Max, is that goalkeepers really are expected to be as capable on the ball as the rest of defence these days, and it does sometimes highlight a weakness, however we’re seeing this with elite players as well so it’s not just him. Could we do better? Probably not worth it within a limited budget. Sure he’s let in a couple of soft goals recently, but I don’t buy into the view that he regularly costs points. When you’re in a position where there’s nowhere to hide, anything less than perfect every game is probably going to cost a goal, and that’s an incredibly high bar to maintain.

I remember thinking the same when he was here on loan as a player.
