Elmer's on Old Market. Great pub, have all sorts of music events too, live bands & DJ's.
Stumbled across the Black Cat in Bemmy the other week, decent Jukebox in there.

    Thanks mate,  much appreciated ?

Enjoyed that good result for me.

Good friend of mine Sunderland fan who has followed them all over the country from South Devon for 45 years

So yeah big club like em back up with us.

Went to the gate in 70 with my mate took him in to the East End, first game of the season 4/3 win . He survived.

What a game and Sunderland skins on the East End, it didn't go entirely to plan for them ?

I’m very surprised it’s still going. Many papers have disappeared but even though it’s utter garbage it’s still going. Staggering isn’t it after Hillsborough etc. Some people must still be buying it, or subscribing online or whatever funds them. I honestly despair at the intelligence level of their readers, or do they just look at the pictures?

Nah, even the pics are too complicated for Sun starers ?

    Well done Boro.

Any chance anyone at City wants to grow a pair and do likewise?

I don't think us banning a Middlesbrough father and  son would worry then too much ?

Went on the train to Arsenal for first match in Div One.  Unusual as we stopped at Ealing Broadway and then got a special tube train which went all the way to Arsenal without stopping.

On the way back we had to get normal tube trains which was a bit tasty having beaten the Gunners.

At Ealing I went out to the high street for supplies from an off-licence and had to fight my way through a bunch of Chelsea fans in the station concourse, clinging onto my cans.

    Memorable day all round.

It was the same at West Ham that first season, a loudspeaker announcement at Upton Park during the game that Bristol City fans had to make their own way to Ealing Broadway after the match, Oh great! ?

Several notable, the first ever for me was Swindon ‘69 possibly, was on the first of two specials. I was on the early one and remember leaning against some gates into the ground that gave way and everyone piled in, only to be chased out by police dogs. Some of the chaps on second special ransacked Swindon’s Marks and Spencer’s for some bizarre reason. Millwall were there - who we had played the previous week - but we had the Town End to ourselves.

Wolves early 70’s was like Hospital train returning from The Somme on the way back.

Did a Cardiff one and some others as well. Good fun generally, especially arriving at the away destination.

The gates thing at Swindon was in 72, the mad day at Wolves in the cup was the same season

Couldn't find a thread about this game on here.

According to one news paper, "Metro" many Barcelona fans walked out when Frankfurt fans arrived in large numbers and "took over" the ground.

    https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/barcelona-fans-leave-camp-nou-26717562

And Barca were forced to play the first 10 minutes after the break without their most vocal supporters, with thousands not returning to their seats behind the goal. The section of fans, known as Grada d’Animacion took in the opening minutes of the second period from within the confines of the stadium, in protest at the Frankfurt invasion of the Catalan giants’ stadium.

What's the Catalan for "You'll never take the East End"!

    30,000 wow

I thought there was a period of adjustment before clubs had to be compliant.

Or is that the drop from the Championship to Leagues One and Two?

If they do drop into the Championship they'll get a "there there never mind here's a shit load of dosh"

Latest from my Derby friend - and take this with a pinch of salt - there is a rumour amongst the Derby fans that one of the undisclosed potential bidders is Mel Morris ?

Apparently someone called Morris Mel is interested ?
